and I can't find enough around our West Texas town......
Why, oh, why didn't I plant an APRICOT tree many, many years ago ??
Guess I'll just have to keep buying it at the grocery store and just
WISH it tasted as great as HOMEMADE !!

PS--taking your advice about posting about my livingroom--I am putting it together...
Can you believe I have never eaten an apricot? There are certain things some people have never tried (not sure why) and for me one is apricots and I just tried asparagus for the first time in a dish called Chicken Oscar. I'm not afraid of trying new things and love fruits and vegetables but just don't think about trying some of them. It may have something to do with where you live because some people don't know what a tenderloin is. We have a meat market in town that makes them fresh and sells to grocery store and they are yummy. Rue made fish tacos and I had never heard of or tried them...weird huh?

hmm I've never even heard of "fried apricot pie" Must be a Texas thing! We had an apricot tree growing up...It was always my job to pick up the ones that fell and clean around the tree...I hated that stupid tree and it's stupid apricots! All you had to do was ask and I would have chopped the dang thing down and sent it to you!!!

Yum yum you are starving me to death ! Here in my neck of the woods the apples are starting to come in and they have a big apple barn at one of the locations. They sell fried apple pies . People come from everywhere to buy them . They have a little restaurant fixed up real cute with all apple stuff. I will have to do a post on it shortly.

Bj, apricots are one of my favorites too. I never buy fresh ones. I just do not think about it. I love the dried ones and that is all I do. Except for apricot preserves. Mmmmmm

I'm finally here to catch up on your last few posts. It's been one of those weeks with little time for visiting! The only type of apricot I've ever tasted is the ones in the can...never fresh...I'm soooo deprived! lol We do have them in our grocery store but they're just not a fruit I ever think of buying!

I made home made apricot jam this summer for the firt time. I also tried to make fried apricot pies for my husband, well needless to say they did not turn out, he just loves them just not mine. There is a talent in making apricot pies that's for sure.
