O...believe me...
I am READY to let this long, hot, dry summer slide into FALL..
We had the nicest rain, off and on, all night long (9/15)
and

6 slices of bread, torn apart
2 Tablespoons melted butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
**
Tear bread into PAM-ED baking dish
Pour melted butter over the bread.
In a medium bowl, mix eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla
and pour over buttered, crumbled bread.
You can add raisins, dried cranberries, nuts at this time.
BAKE 350 for 45 minutes or until it's a nice, golden brown.
I made a half recipe for just the two of us.
Mr. Sweet doesn't care for LEMON flavor (what's WRONG with him?)
so I added the warmed curd to MINE after I put it in a bowl.
I hope you have a nice, sweet, LEMONY day....

OMG! Did you have to slather that heavenly fruit of the gods with lemon curd? I have an awesome recipe for bread pudding that uses donuts. So good! Now I want some with lemon curd! Waaaaah!
OMGolly! We went to dinner the other night & ordered bread pudding after our deelish Reubens.
I told Harold 'I wish I knew how to make a good bread pudding' ... & knowing EVERYTHING you make is fabulous, guess what is going into that oven now?! Yup!
Mother used to make a deelish b/p, I can smell the aroma memory now.
TY for sharing. Tomorrow we will savor this lovely recipe.
Have a beautiful weekend.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon
Hi Bj/ Is the amounts listed the 1/2 recipe or regular? I wanted to make some for just Don and I and your recipe sounds so good. I always would end up making too much with my older recipe. Loved your sweet, tart lemon post.
Seriously...I think you are trying to make me fat!! You have the best food on your blog...Oh, I love bread pudding and lemon curd. Mercy!!
LOvely post Bj! I love anything lemon, so my mouth was watering over this. Bread pudding is my hubs favorite too!
I started out with egg whites this a.m., - now all I want for dinner is bread pudding and lemon curd!!!!!
I am glad you got much needed rain last night. I also can't stop thinking about the lemon tree song....:) xo,
I think you may be the reason I'm gaining weight (3 pounds lately)! It's your food. As long as you're putting weight on me, you may as well cook for me too, BJ. It's only fair. I'll be singing that song all night. Now tell me again where you got that black and white teapot?
Brenda
My mouth is watering looking at those pics. I've used lemon curd before in a lemon coconut cake and it was delicious. That painting is so pretty too.
The bread pudding looks great BJ! I wish I could grow a lemon tree too. I know it would be happy outside during summer, I just don't get any direct sunlight in the house, so it wouldn't be happy over winter.
I always get bread pudding when we go out to eat at Barnhills...its so good. I'll try your. I don't think I can get the lemon curd around here but I'm going to see. Trish
Did you get the new M-C catalog this week? Love the new courtly check compotes!! That is now on the TOP of my list
Sounds delicious! I haven't had bread pudding in FAR TOO LONG!
This is a simply lovely post! Your bread pudding looks wonderful and I wish I could share one of my Lemon Trees with you. I have two... they grow the best Lemons and I use the fruit for so many dishes and desserts..This is the time of the year that the trees are full and my neighbors are welcome to come take as many as they wish... Lemon Curd, I might give that a try also...
Very nice post
Sandy
Yum! Lemon curd is so good I could eat that whole jare! I bet it was delicious on that bread pudding.
Bread pudding is one of my all time favorites. Looks delicious!

I love bread pudding and make it a lot in the fall and winter, but I've never put lemon curd on it. It sounds WONDERFUL! Love lemon so I know it will be good.
Thanks for sharing a yummy recipe.
Babs
This is a keeper!! I am going to the store tomorrow and I will pick up the lemon curd. I am dying to try it!! I'll let you know how it turns out!

You have been found "guilty" of increasing my body fat!!
Well- here I go mixing..... That recipe for bread pudding looks heavenly!!!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE bread pudding! You did it over the top with the lemon curd...YUM!!
I made the bread pudding and it baked while we ate dinner. I could hardly wait for it to cool - we're eating it now! Yum, yum, yum! The best comfort food. Thanks for sharing this easy recipe. Sally
I would love to grow a lemon tree also! Beautiful watercolor.
That looks delicious!
I actually saw some of that lemon curd at TJ's today!
Your raindrops brought in the real raindrops? I'm so happy that you've finally had some rain.
This is the sweetest post from the cute and sunny graphics to the lyrics to the memory of singing that song on the schoolbus to bread pudding with lemon curd. Oh dear. This may mean a trip to T.J.Maxx looking for some.
I'm not quite ready for the total fall look, but I have begun to make a few, hopefully subtle, changes. And I do need a mum.
I had a lemon tree (lime and blood oranges, too) when I lived in Phoenix, it was heaven walking out there a plucking the fresh fruit off them...your bread pudding looks delish!
This is gorgeous! I too am a big bread pudding fan. I have a pumpkin bread pudding on my side-bar.
I love bread pudding in he am with a cup of great coffee. I never thought of putting lemon curd on bread pudding. It sounds almost sinful!
Great tip, BJ.
And the Lemon Tree song is a lemonny blast from the past!
xo Yvonne
that takes me back to italy. they have the largest lemonds there.
ty for that memory.
Your bread pudding looks delicious--I'm copying the recipe as soon as I post this comment. Love the song too--I was right there when Peter, Paul, and Mary were "singing their hearts out"--the good old days. Have a lovely weekend. Mickie :)
You make everything look so delicious! I wish I lived next door to you just so I could pop in when I smell the baking.
Good grief! If I lived near you..or at your house..or..anyway..you know what I mean..I would weight 200 pounds!
Right now I weight only 197.5! LOL
You do make the most delicious goodies ever! I love the painting. And if I can grow a lemon tree...so can you. I bought one last year and it produced 40 lovely little lemons...honest. I finally planted it. It's small but mighty. Do it. Mine was in a pot for ages..but now it's in the ground.
I am so GLAD, DELIGHTED and ...and...just everything..that you got rain! That is such wonderful news.
Holy Cow, that looks so tasty! I love anything with lemons too but I have never had lemon curd, I need to find some, and soon.
Well first, PRAISE GOD for your night of rain. Second, the bread pudding looks divine. It's one of my favorite desserts.
And now I have that song stuck in my head. Grin.
BJ, you just have the coolest posts. I love to visit you. And Bread Pudding??? On the top of my list for favorites. I've never made it with dried cranberries, but I sure will now. ♥
Chris
Your present blog-look, is simply delightful. No need to go-all-orange-and-brown here, yet. Or maybe, ever. :-)

(Not blogging... But reading some blogs... Commenting, here and there... Now and then...)
I don't think I have had bread pudding since my dear grandma made it for me as a child. It sure looks good! I am so thrilled for you that you got some rain!
My hubby loves bread pudding! I'll have to copy this recipe. Where can I get some of the lemon curd? If you don't mind sharing! Have a great day!
BJ...if only we could scratch/sniff,boy O boy this looks soooo dawg gone delish.
~JO
Love, love, love bread pudding with or without lemon curd. Can't believe someone doesn't like lemon curd. Just give me a spoon and I'm in food heaven! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!--------Shannon

I think I have lived under a rock! I have never had or made bread pudding! It sounds (and looks) delicious and ....EASY! I am going to make some!! Thanks so much for the recipe! XO, Pinky
BJ,
"Mr. Ed" asked this morning if I'd heard if you'd gotten any rain..."It's raining in Texas"! I adored opening this post and listening to the sound of rain. One of the senses the least used is hearing...greater still is listening. The lack of rain in our area of the Prairie has made hearing and listening to the rain such a pleasure these last few days! AMEN!
Fondly,
Pat
Bread pudding is one of life's best pleasures.
Thanks for stopping by Sweet Tooth Friday!
Oh, that looks delicious BJ! That lemon curd is good stuff.
