Just a little update on nesting...

I am linking this post to SUSAN'S MET MONDAY
and HOUSE IN THE ROSES' SHOW YOUR COTTAGE MONDAY and MARY at LITTLE RED HOUSE....
**
30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING
I am so thankful for my husband, BILL.
We have been together almost 50 years...April 10th...
and he is one of the kindest and most trustworthy men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
He has taken such wonderful care of his family.
He loves GOD as much as any one alive.
I am thankful !
**************************************
********************************
DO you remember my black and white guest room that I've been working on for the last few weeks...? Seems like I just couldn't find what I liked to go over my headboard...
.....couldn't get that elusive look I was after !
**

I hung new, tab top curtains and they made the world of difference...

Penney's had them on clearance...$19.00 a set.
**

" peek 'a boo..... "
***

All the black iron things I hung over the bed didn't work for me...
But...at KIRKLANDS sale yesterday, I found these two signs that I fell in love with...
RED...BLACK AND WHITE CHECKS...CREAMY OFF-WHITES...WONDERFUL WORDS...
and all framed out in a wonderful mat black...
I LOVE 'EM !
can you really love SIGNS, SHELIA ? I can just hear you saying,
"Why you bet your sweet hammer and nails you can !!
**
I dunno....just seems like these signs MEAN something, with their precious words...
those black iron things were just that...BLACK IRON THINGS....this looks great in other homes but not quite what I was after. There's a lot of metal in that room already..just needed
more warmth and wood does that for me....
(quit laughing, Justine....i know...i know...i am such a goofus !)
**

O, yes, ma'am....
I truly do love these little signs that MUST have been made just for my spare bedroom !
THANK YOU, KIRKLANDS !!
NOW...if I can only find a prettier LAMP SHADE !!
This one is pretty pitiful....
******************************

OOO, and in my entry hallway..... that really long and very narrow one ?

I shopped my cottage and found this runner that will be wonderful to catch the snow and wet once we start having some wintertime weather...at least I HOPE we have some rain and snow...it just won't be winter without snow....
".....sleigh bells ring......are you listening ?
...in the lane, snow is glistening....a beautiful sight....we're happy tonight...
walking in a winter wonderland...."

ADDED NOTE...

You have GOT to go over and read the funniest post here...This is KIM'S DOMESTIC BLISS and she is so so funny. I enjoyed this post so much...I want YOU to read it....

A GOOD LAUGH IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL..!

Do you really get snow in Texas? I agree sweets, the plaques look so much better. They have wonderful messages and neither one of us can resist something with black & white checks:>) ♥

It is marvelous. My gd has a black and white and hot pink room. You are some decorator. Snow in Texas. My son lives in Texas and our grandson miss New York because of the lack of snow in Texas.

Love the bedroom. That bed is just crying for someone to snuggle up in. Is that the room that was all pink and frilly? I also loved that one. I sure need to do some changing around. Will do it after the holidays.

Morning BJ, You found just the right plaques and I love the sayings on them.

We don't get much snow here in this part of Texas, just rain and a little ice.

Congrats on 50 years together, I am sure Bill is a nice man, you always are happy and upbeat.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

BJ, it's perfect! Love the way it turned out. I like the pops of red on the bed, too. I like the quilt pulled back to look layered, I like the new curtains and signs you bought. It looks so cozy and warm. Yep, you are there, sister girl.

I love that little lamp shade beside your bed with the pom pom fringe. It's CUTE. So that can't be what you're talking about. It's uber-cute!

Oh, I feel lost in all these comments. The words on the sign, If God brings you to it, He'll bring you through it ... hit my heart like a happy thump. THEN your comment 'you bet your sweet hammer and nails' made me smile, as did your peek-a-boo photo. And, your granddaughter really hit the 80's ... spot on. Hmmm... I'm thinking I'll be plugging you sign and your comment on my blog. I'm so glad you share those 'rights'. Thanks!! Jenn

Hi BJ...

How are you doing today, my friend? I hope that my little note finds you and your family well!

My friend, I love all your "nesting"...it's perfect! Oooh...you have a beautiful bedroom! I love, love, LOVE that pretty quilt in the grays and whites!!! In fact, I think all of your bedding...including those pretty decorative pillows is simply gorgeous!!! I looked at the photos in your first mosaic and thought that the other two wall art treatments were pretty but my friend, those two beautiful signs are just the ticket!!! They really are the prettiest and I agree with you about the lovely sayings! You did GOOD, Girlfriend!!! I just love your bedroom!!!

I also like the long runner that you added to your hallway...very pretty!!! Okay...have a question for you...do you really get snow out where you are at in west Texas? Hehe!

Well Darlin'...so glad that you shared all of your new treasure finds with us...what a treat!!!

Sending my very best wishes and blessings to you and your family for a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

The wood is the right choice for sure. Not only did you make a mosaic but the pattern on the quilt is like a mosaic too.
