TRUE BLUE .......

TIME, once again, for
BLUE MONDAY,
hosted by SMILING SALLY
be sure to go by, leave sweet words and visit
all the other BLUES in town...! *
A TRUE BLUE FRIEND....
Loyal, faithful, as in "You can count on her support; she's true blue."
This expression alludes to the idea of blue being the color of constancy, but the exact allusion is disputed. One theory holds it alludes to the unchanging blue sky, another to the fastness of a blue dye that will not run !
*
I have been blessed to have several
REALLY TRUE BLUE FRIENDS....
*

I realize that I have introduced you to these ladies already...

These are some of my TRUE BLUE friends..
I have know them a long long time and
I love 'em all dearly..
*
The other day, through my FaceBook, I found another
friend that grew up, went to school and graduated
in my little hometown, 45 miles away.....
that's her on the right end....
*
We, OF COURSE, had to "do lunch"..
and lunch we did.....2 1/2 hours of it....
at CRACKER BARREL....a favorite.
We brought annuals and pictures....
we laughed, talked and cried a little....
We were all so glad to meet up again after all the years.
(what nearly made me mad is that she didn't have a GRAY HAIR one!!)
*
oh, and we had CHICKEN AND DUMPLINS with a salad...
then, we all three split the BEST
HOT APPLE PIE, WITH CINNAMON ICE CREME
and all drizzled with HOT CARAMEL...
Oh Honey !
*
* MARTHA = TRUE BLUE

* BARBARA, MARTHA AND VIV = TRUE BLUE
This is ALICE...one TRUE BLUE FRIEND...
we went to high school together and have been
friends ever since. She and I have been through
some of the highest and some of the lowest times
in our lives and she has ALWAYS been right there, beside me !
************
TRUE BLUE FRIENDS ARE ONE OF THE BEST BLESSINGS FROM GOD.
**
I hope you will call a friend today and have lunch soon...
you'll be so glad you did...
I SURE AM !!
XO bj

Reading your post brought back memories of girls I have known since I was 5 years old; girls who still take the time to say hello and are REALLY interested in knowing how I am and what's going on in my life. True blue friends, for sure! What a treasure these precious friends are! I must make some telephone calls after the sun comes up! Thank you for this lovely post! Have a great day!

Yesterday I went to lunch and to do some retail therapy with my best friend. We've been very busy and hadn't seen each other for about a month. That's really unusual for us. When she lived in Riverside we went somewhere together every few days. Now she's about a 45 min. drive away. Still old friends are great. They've seen us through it all!

Hi BJ,

Not many from our high school class are on Facebook, but I do see them around town quite frequently.

What a creative take on a Blue Monday post...I love it! True blue friends are the best!

Thank you for dropping by and leaving your sweet comment.

I see that you are a New Year's Eve baby...how fun is that?!!!

Blessings to you from Kansas,
Valerie

P.S. As you can imagine, living in Kansas we always see lots of "Dorothys" on Halloween. Since my little ones are so close in age and have yet to protest too loudly, I have had coordinating costumes each year! Last year was Pooh Bear and Tigger; this year was Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion! As a former 3rd grade classroom teacher, I have also seen incredibly beautiful Oz character costumes designed and sewn by some very crafty moms and grandmas!

What a fun post. And having true blue friends is one of the biggest blessings we can have in our life. Sadly my best friend lives so very far away...happily I get to visit with her for a whole week when she comes to stay with me in April. My hubby was saying how much we could have both changed in the 10+ years we haven't seen each other. I told him friends like her will always be friends...the bond goes too deep. You're lucky to be surrounded by so many special friends..

BJ, I loved this post, and you're so right about the true blues! And you are a true blue, too! Such a wonderful blogging buddy, you are! :-)

And I hope your husband tells you every day, but you are certainly a pretty lady, too... beautiful on the inside and the outside, through and through true blue and pretty, too! :-)

Happy Blue Monday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh Jean, you are the truest, bluest friend anybody could ever have! Thank you for the honor of being on your post today although I hope I look a tiny bit better in person than in the pictures. Ha!

We must remember that we go to "retain therapy" as Susan called it. I love that! Maybe my hubby and Mr. Sweet Nothings would take awhile to figure that one out. Nah, probably not. They're too sharp.

Your post reminded me that we haven't been thrifting in a long time. Must do that again soon. Huh?

You really have the right idea about "blue" especially "true blue".

Love you dear girl!

Hi dearest!
Look at you and the girls eating Chicken and dumplings! I know you must have had a wonderful time with them.

I adore what you did with the two pieces of furniture you rescued at the thrift store. I really like the red inside the hutch. It just makes the piece stand out. Great job!

Hugs,
Deanna :D
