~ ROOTS~........A Thing of the Past

I had so many nice things that belonged to my children's great-great grandparents as well as things from their great grandparents and grandparents. So many of the items were small and I was afraid that , over the years, they would be lost. I decided to make them each a ROOTS MEMORY BOX to hang on their wall.

That's my mother, dad and me....and a few of her sewing notions. I think I've told you how well that lady could sew?

That pretty piece of crochet, the crochet hook and the picture belonged to my mother-in-law. I found the crocheted purple rose in her sewing machine drawer after she passed away.

The watch belonged to my father-in-law......

My mom, as a young "flapper"....her glasses and some of her lovely jewelry....

That's my dad and some of his pocket knives and a silver dollar he had for years and years.

The lady and gentleman in the left, top corner, are my children's great-great grandmother and grandfather...the glasses in the area beside them belonged to her and the glass bottle stopper is from a bottle that was in his saloon, so many years ago. The two gentlemen holding that PRECIOUS baby girl...in the right corner...that's both my grandpa's and they are holding ME !! :)

ROOTS....they are so important! Hang onto them with all your mite.....they really are A THING OF THE PAST.
HAPPY WEEKEND...

Hello bj
So nice of you to come visit me again and so sorry I have not been over for a while..
As you know I love things in box frames and this is just gorgeous.. what a lovely collection of mementos and you have displayed them so beautifully.
In answer to your questions..
A lolly stick is the wooden stick inside an ice lolly or is it a popsicle over there?
I don't drive.. but I walk a lot.. and my man is my wonderful chauffeur when I need to go long distance.
Best wishes
