It wasn't exactly a PARIS FLEA MARKET

 No pretty little sidewalk CAFES.....
NO shops full of my HEART'S DESIRES.....
NO adorable, narrow PARIS streets with colorful awnings full of personality.
And just LOOK at all those charming SHUTTERS......*sigh
Our local FLEA MARKET is pretty pitiful with NO pizaaaz...
no personality
no great buys
but....it's still FUN TO GO.
I was looking for......
.....and MORE CUTENESS

I would have LOVED a
beautiful
FLOWER MARKET.....

 or TWO...
they didn't even have to be of the PARIS FLEA MARKET caliber.
HUGH SIGH because there wasn't a FLOWER in sight.
*PAINTINGS BY
G. HARVEY
but after thinking I would be hauling TONS of STUFF...
GOOOOD STUFF,
home with me,
I was a bit frustrated that I came home with
ONE little pint sized glass
ATLAS GOOD LUCK CANNING JAR.
That's it...
I didn't find one single bit of CUTENESS in the whole 2 blocks of the
FLEA MARKET.

and what can you REALLY do with a pint size glass jar ?
I mean REALLY !
O, yes...it would be adorable to use as a
CANDY JAR...
......but..........

I don't really NEED another CANDY JAR.
...and I think you can't POSSIBLY go wrong with WINE CORKS....

 but I have them

all over the place...

In with candles....

 ....in lamps...
just everywhere.
...just don't NEED a tiny jar full of CORKS.

The tea lights look great in a
LARGE jar....
but pretty pitiful in a SMALL jar.
 Well, NOW we're gettin' somewhere....
If I had a few more CUTE LITTLE PINT JARS, I could fill them with
pretty strawberries and have a terrific CENTERPIECE.
Of course, I can't leave fresh
STRAWBERRIES in this cute little jar that has an AQUA   lid,

but it sure would be CUTE to serve a few strawberries in for any guest that might stop by for breakfast some morning....:)

Actually...this little jar doesn't have to
WORK FOR HIS KEEP........

I am glad to have this little 25 cent oldie just
HANG out at SWEET NOTHINGS.......

Fresh strawberries make a bowl of hum-drum cereal taste like a million bucks...

Oh I found you through Debra at Homespun. Not alot of grandmas are called Mamaw, like us so I just had to drop by and drop you a line and follow you along! I have one single one of those little cute jars also. Maybe I should send you mine so you'll have a pair!!

Well, we all know everyone can use another aqua canning jar. I use mine for flowers, BJ.

You make every post fun to read. Do you know that? I think the strawberries are a great idea if you must make him earn his board and keep. (It's a HE 'cause he's blue), but just as you said, he doesn't need to.

(And you're right about the strawberries on the cereal too.)

Well, at least you came home with something. I love strawberries on my cereal, too.

I've see a lot of cute ideas you have here. Love how you use your jars bj. I've started saving the wine corks too. I love how you use them with your candles. I have used the large jars for holding flatware for a casual buffet.
Thanks for sharing.

What gets me after visiting a flea market is that the next person out has all kinds of great looking stuff. Sometimes I just don't have eyes to see. That's why I've stayed away from the flea market all summer. I'm not feeling it yet. Glad you saw that cute little jar...it would make a great hostess gift filled with mints or something, too.

I had a little trouble getting past that Live With Purpose sign - oh I want one! ... But seriously, cereal and strawberries - the perfect way to start the day, especially if the berries are in a cute little jar!

It is an adorable little jar and worth lots more than 25 cents.

Hi bj ... you sure know how to post an interesting blog. It kept me on my toes to see what your would finally end up with in that cute little jar. I put nuts in mine ... that is when I have them ... completely out right now. Hope there is a good crop of pecans this year and the price is reasonable.
Enjoy your new treasure.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.

We have a flea market near here, a huge building full of overpriced antiques and crap made in china. Where are all these fabulous markets we see on the blogs? Not here!

Hooray for you!

See, I would applaud you coming home with only one little jar. Wonderful! You only purchased what really resonated with you. Perfection, in my book. :-)

But then, as you know, I don't go to Flea Markets so... I am prejudiced. ,-)

But still, look at all the sweet ways you can use your darling little jar!!!!

New Header pics! New-ish-look to your whole blog, this morning. No I know, you didn't change anything, but Header pics. But the way you (still) can place pictures right and left... And the way you can "frame" pics... It just gives an almost new look! A fresh new look!

And that is WONDERFUL!!!!

I have switched out of whatever blogger thing, allowed me to put pics to left/and/right. And I can't use most of those make-cute-frames programs, on my Mac. ORRRR I have NEVER LEARNED how to do so. Being so non-techy, it could just be me. But....... Anyway....

Since I can't make all those preciously different things, like diff Header Looks and etc., I can't go to just a white background. When I do it, it's just blahhhhh. When you do it, it POPS!!!!!!

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

A flea market (and tag sales up here) are full of possibilities. It doesn't have to be Paris (although that would be nice :) but a collection of articles the owner want to discard - we cannot say what will be appealing, but we surely know it when we see it! Always nice pickups are available (although is that impressionist painting available for a mere $50??

It looks like Puffed Wheat - strawberries will make that breakfast much tastier!

Your jar is a keeper! Sometimes it is that way, piles and piles of junk for just one little item.
