Blueberries and Cherries ..

...a great combination !
Especially
IN A PIE...
OH MY..
I DO love PIE.

FRESH  BLUEBERRIES..
Canned TART CHERRIES..
into a good crust.
Remember, ya'll, if you want some cuties things to sit on your windowsill
or on your table....or ANYwhere,
SAVE THOSE COLORFUL FRUIT AND VEGGIE CANS for a cute COUNTRY look.
We can fill 'em with pretty flowers and they will look sooo cute.
BERRY-PICKIN' PIE
3 TBL. cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups water
3-oz. pkg. gelatin mix (fruit flavor as in Peach, cherry, raspberry, etc)
2-3 cups of berries (your choice)
9" Graham cracker crust
Garnish with frozen whipped topping, thawed.
Combine cornstarch, sugar and water in saucepan:cook over low heat until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and gradually add gelatin. Cool and set aside. Place berries in pie crust, pour gelatin mixture over top. Refridgerate until set, then dollop with whipped topping.
Makes 6-8 servings.
This recipe is from a Gooseberry Patch cookbook and may I just say
OH HONEY
The glaze has been added to the fruit here.
My version:
fresh blueberries
canned TART cherries
Peach Jello
I took the pie to our home fellowship group gathering and it went, lickety split !
REALLY a great, light pie.
I used Fat Free Whipped topping and I didn't have a graham cracker crust on hand so I used a regular pie crust.... it was all just delicious.
This pie assembled really quick and an hour in the fridge and
it's READY TO ROLL.
Leave to cool on the WINDOWSILL
before putting it into the fridge to thicken and SET.

This is
ONE GOOD LOOKIN' PIE, folks
My fellowship group ate it every single bite
and MR. SWEET just came thru and asked if I had
ANY MORE BERRIES !
Oh, yes...I am going to be making another one of these...
probably TOMORROW.
Why don't you come over, have a slice and
let's talk about it.

This couldn't be simpler. Looks delish. It sort of reminds me of a Fruit Pizza. That is up there on the "Delish Meter".

I think GooseBerry has some of the best recipes. Most could not be simpler.

Awesome! I'll be over for pie tomorrow, BJ! By the way, I have consolidated my two blogs into one - I am now posting at http://beyondthegardengate-beth.blogspot.com Hope you'll come see me there when you get a chance! Speaking of pie, I make a fresh peach as well as a fresh strawberry pie that uses either gelatin or cornstarch - your pie reminds me of those.
Blessings to you, Beth

The pie looks delicious! The fact that tart cherries are a natural anti inflammatory, makes my fibro bones very anxious to try it.

And I'm glad that I stopped by this morning so that I can join the prayer warriors and lift your husband before his angiogram.

Hi BJ! Yummy looking pie and thank you for the recipe too. Blueberries and cherries together sound wonderful. I haven't eaten that before. Your cans are so nice and worthy of sitting around with pretty flowers in them.

BJ,
So glad "Mr. sweet" is doing so well! Of course, you'd be spoiling him, I'm sure! Take good care of yourselves! ! ! Do save me a small slice of that second pie with lots of whipped topping. I'll be right over! HA!
Fondly,

Who could walk away from a pie like that?

RED FOR A RUSH

O what would we do without red?
“I just can’t imagine,” she said.
“Vermilion and pink
Are colors, I think,
That make the blood rush to my head.”
