Come have coffee with me....West Texas Style

Almost ALL  meals here at
SWEET NOTHINGS
are very informal...
downright
laid-back, actually.
Come join me for a quick cup
and a little breakfast
before you head out for your busy day.
It's hard to beat, folks...
A little more pricey than some..
I buy  a package of IT
and can of
FOLGERS SMOOTH BLEND
and alternate...NOT MIX...
ALTERNATE ! :)
:)
I bought these
COFFEE
dessert plates a couple of years ago at STEIN MART..
and may I just say...
THEY  WEREN'T  EVEN  ON SALE...!
Goodness gracious...I really wanted these babies.
PICK YOUR PLATE...
They really go great with my
WALMART
dishes, napkins and napkin rings...
I only bought one box of these dishes...
a setting for 4.
I sure wish I had bought more....:((
OK, have a seat with a cup of coffee and
I'll make breakfast..
*
You know  the lady on SEMI HOMEMADE must be my sister..
she and I both LOVE starting things with a good mix sometimes.

These biscuit mixes....
GREAT.
I keep several pkgs. in my pantry at all times...
Just add a 1/2 cup of water and drop by teaspoon..
can't get any easier...
and they really are good.
Today, we are having
HONEY BUTTER BISCUITS...
...and I know sausage isn't good for us..
Yes...I KNOW that !
But we have it so seldom, surely it won't kill us....
We like the H.O.T. kind of sausage..
and this is the wonderful griddle I was able to purchase with my
gift code from CSN.
Biscuits are ready....
the hard boiled eggs are ready...
the sausage is ready...
The table is set in a most informal way...
the kind I love the best...:)

Remember....
candle light at breakfast is even better than at night.

We don't have fruit EVERY morning
but we do have it a lot.
Apples, oranges, pears, especially grapes...

A good country breakfast,
cast iron skillet and all......
there's apricot jelly this morning.
Oh, and Strawberry yogurt, if you want.
Mr. Sweet eats one almost every morning...he thinks it's good for you..:)
Mr. Sweet and I both like hard boiled eggs...
now HE likes them soft boiled, too, but
he has to take care of it himself...
I don't do ANY kind of runny eggs...
no sir ree !!
I am getting more blooms every day....
OH...don't go yet...
keep your seat and have another cup.
♥♥♥
I am linking with
also linking with FULL PLATE THURSDAY
(Sandi even has FRIED GREEN TOMATOES in her header...sooo cool )

THANKS, LADIES, for hosting
and thank YOU for coming by my place.

Looks good BJ. I think I'll go boil some eggs. A cup of coffee would be good right about now too....and it is after 4 in the afternoon.

I love your coffee plates.

Oh BJ, I am so much more casual than you most meals. Love biscuits and sausage with eggs, can't get any better than that. I am so lazy, most days DH only gets coffee, juice, toast and jelly. Shame on me. I do make him a great sandwich for lunch though. lol Love your dishes and the breakfast. Looks fabulous. Hugs, Marty

Hi bj, I always drink tea in the morning because if I start with the coffee too early I'll be buzzing around in circles by lunch time! I do love coffee, though, especially that fresh brewed aroma!! OOh I want some now and it's too late (I don't do the decaf--only fully leaded for me...)Your dishes are so pretty and I really love the juice glasses! Breakfast looks delish--I'm hungry, can you tell? Linda

BJ,
Those are great plates! Beautiful colors. I'll have plenty of coffee, biscuits and eggs. Sorry, but I'm not a sausage fan, but that means more for everyone else!

All of this looks so delicious! I always have Bisquick around for those yummy biscuits and I love the dumplings, too. Chicken and dumplings! And I really do prefer Dunkin Donuts over everything, including Starbucks...but that's apples and oranges!

Your plates are really sweet and I love those pretty napkins. Everything looks wonderful!

Jane

Hi BJ, I imagine you are just about the best hostess there is, always making your guests feel right at home, with an ever-ready snack at hand!

Love your dessert plates, BJ. I think they still have those dinner plates at Walmart - they are just gorgeous - so colorful. You could make a coffee flavored cheesecake, etc to put on the coffee dessert plates and serve with a nice hot cup of DD!

Your coffee plates are adorable! The coffee is one of the best I've had in a while. . .and how did you know that apricot jelly is my favorite? ? ? I'll pass on the sausage. Good morning,BJ.

I've never even noticed thos Biquick mixes and will have to try one this weened.

I've been thinking a lot recently about not using Teflon pans any longer. I think I have a cast iron skillet somewhere and am going to have to look for it - and then learn to cook all over again.

Love these coffee plates ... and the other dinnerware, too. Isn't it fun to have a big breakfast? My daddy was killed by eggs. He ate 3 a day ... his whole life ... and he lived to be 89 YEARS OLD!
