THE PARTY

1960 ---- 2010

The anniversary reception was MAGNIFICENT...
All our family had such a great time...
good friends that I was so glad to see...
**

MR. SWEET with his son and daughter...
well...they are MINE, too ......
;>)

The cake...Oh, my, it was sooo beautiful..
BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER had it made from a photo of our ORIGINAL cake...
on the very same MILK GLASS CAKE STAND that belonged to her grandmother, my mom.
*
My mother, not meaning to, threw away a box with our CAKE TOPPER in it, years ago...
I searched EBAY for one JUST LIKE IT and found the very one.
It is JUST like ours...
When I put my bid in on it, I also emailed the seller about WHY I wanted this pretty, olden one.
She emailed me right back with,
"I just took it off EBAY...it is YOURS."
I was so stunned...
Aren't some people so so sweet !!!
She was so sweet, I am now wondering if she is a BLOGGER !! :))
*******************************************************************

AS if the beautiful RECEPTION, PHOTOGRAPHS, CAKE, FLOWERS...
wasn't enough for us,
ANOTHER gift from our children,
*
STACY and JENT..
DAVID and KATHY
*
and our grandchildren:
DREW
BROOKS
BRYNNA
DEIDRA
COURTNEY
JESSICA and CORY and CATE
BRYAN
LACEY
ANDREA
BAILEY
*
*
A 7 day cruise...
to
ALASKA
*

MR. SWEET and I were so overcome with the magnitude of the gift,
we STILL haven't stopped tearing up...
well, HE tears up...

Dear bj, I just commented on your PS post and I am thrilled for you both to have wonderful children and grands to help you celebrate your special wedding anniversary. Your party is fabulous and your Alaska cruise gift is awesome. I would be bawling too. the story of the cake topper is so sweet. There are wonderful people in this world. The cake then and now is gorgeous. We were married in 1963 so it won't be long until we will be celebrating 50 years too. Oh what a party!!! BIG smile here.

With loving wishes for many more years together.
Love, Jeanne

Now, why am I tearing up???? It's not MY anniversary! lol, but I am just so overcome with the absolute beauty of it all. A lovely party, that cake just like your first one, the topper story, and your cruise. All your lovely family there, and look how much your daughter and grandchildren look like you did in your girlish days with a young Mr. Sweet!

Fabulous day, fabulous accomplishment of being together for 50 years -- even though I know you must have been a child bride!

Ok, now I'm crying too! What a precious family you have and it is clear you and Mr. Sweet are the apple of each ones eye. You have a real treasure in your family sweet BJ.

BJ, congratulations for 50 years together. That is great especially since so many get divorced so quickly these days. No one works at staying married anymore. You will love the Alaskan cruise. We went one time and I want to do it again. It is the best cruise we have been on. That was wonderful of your family to get that for you!!

Sweet Nothings, Hmmm.
Well, this is my first visit over here to you. Looks like I came just at the right time to see your celebration party. What a busy life you lead. I have been to Houston many times as my daughter lived there for many years, now she is in Austin. I love to go down there as things are so different than up here in the cold-er states.
These are hardly sweet nothings, and I do enjoy your blog. You have done such a nice job.
I am on my second+, lost my first one .... long story. So I am starting again.
Do stop over as I need visitors badly and you can critique mine if you like.
Thanks for your Texas hosbitality !!!
