I got several GIFT CARDS and this great little CHICKEN PEG BOARD,
a little COFFEE POT kitchen timer...
a precious ROOSTER and his mate....

Some played POKER...and the winner giving us the ROCKY BALBOA stance,

FANCY MACARONI and QUICK SOUTHERN BAKED BEANS
both from THE PIONEER WOMAN...recipes found on her site
and may I just say....
O HONEY!
**
I must tell you that this
LEMON pie was the runniest pie I have ever made in my entire, whole life, but it was delicious.
Recipe out of SOUTHERN LIVING magazine...
I did something wrong...not sure what, tho.
I will be trying this recipe again.....
**

We had PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SANDWICHES...
a delicious PEPPERED ROAST that MR. SWEET prepared...
FANCY MACARONI
BEST BAKED BEANS
HOMINY WITH MUSHROOMS, CHEESE AND BUTTER
HOMEMADE SOUPS
FRUITS AND DIP

Almost everyone that came, brought something delightful....
**
I didn't even mention that we had 3 cakes, a wonderful sweet salad that my friend, MARTHA, brought...
that runny LEMON pie..(well, actually, there were 2 runny lemon pies....
CHOCOLATE pie..
White Chocolate cookies
THAT BIG WONDERFUL CHOCOLATE CAKE
another of the CRANBERRY NUT CHRISTMAS CAKE
**
We had PLENTY of food to share with our people....
We thought we would have about 10-12 people celebrating with us....
WE HAD 24 PEOPLE and I was just beside myself with happiness that they all wanted to come join in the celebration with us.
My thanks to all of you that came to our party....AND for the food you brought along....
YOU ARE SO SO LOVED !!

That's one of the twins...ANDREA...
Isn't it remarkable how much she looks like her mom, KATHY!

Happy New Year It has been a long time when we had an elaborate NY Eve celebration. It was snowing so we didn't go anywhere. But we did make chili and by extension chili nachos. Just the four of us, but as you pointed out, family and friends make for a celebration. For us it was family, but together it was fun. And at my advancing age, that Patti and I made it past the Waterford crystal ball drop in NY (12:30), we celebrated the new year in a sort of style...I'd have loved the food if I were celebrating at your home!

What a wonderful party, good friends, good food and games? YES! Fun, fun, fun! All of the food looks delicious as always. I would be ten feet wide if I hung out close to your house:) How do you stay so thin... by feeding all that good food to everyone around you? hehe. Love to all dear BJ! Can't wait to see New Years:)

Morning, I love the pictures and could tell a good time was had by all. Love your gifts.

Have you checked out my growing list of Texas bloggers? I have more to add, I am overwhelmed and can't possibly visit all these people on a regular basis.

Sure wish we could have Texas get-together one day....

It is cold here, guess it is at your house also.

Look forward to 2010 and our contined friendship.

Happy New Year and a Happy belated Birthday, dear BJ!!! I so enjoyed catching up on your last few posts...I haven't had much time for visiting since before the holidays but I'm back now...I think! lol

I truly enjoyed looking at all your photos from your party, how I would have loved to have been there!! Look at all that delicious food and the beautiful decorating style you have. My New Year's Eve was very quiet and I had a heck of a time even staying awake until midnight! lol

Wishing you all the very best in 2010!! xoxo

Well, I'd say that was a bash that everyone enjoyed! The food looked yumilicious and everyone looked like they were having a ball. I need to check out Pioneer Woman's website and find some recipes to try.
We had a Jan 2 party with only 14. I prepared it all and had enough food to feed an many more. I spoil my guests, I think! Now I am in the midst of "un-decorating." It will be the weekend by the time I am done. LOL I had so much stuff up, and that was even without the 8th tree! Hope the new year brings you all good things, my friend! And a Happy Belated B-Day!!!
hugs, Sue
