Let's have a little snack while we look at all the BEAUTIFUL BLUES IN BLOGLAND....
AND you can take some with you , too......

SWEET SALLY is once again hosting ...BLUE MONDAY
all you have to do to be a part of this fun event each Monday is
POST ANYTHING YOU LIKE THAT IS .......B.L.U.E.
THANK YOU, SALLY GIRL....
*
this is a little music-playing goodie that i bought about 20 years ago in a hospital gift shop....
it always reminds me of my boy and girl when they were little and would build a snowman....

this little pair barely made it into this BLUE post....but his pants ARE a BLUE-grey so I slipped them in...
the head is off the little goose...and there was a pretty, little green tree where the little boy is sitting....
they have both seen their better days but I just keep hanging on .....not real sure why except I bought them in a little drug store next to the cotton office where I worked the year Mr. SweetNothings and I married.....
we didn't have very much money and i actually splurged on buying these.......but..........

I've enjoyed them all these years....

this is a vintage SHAVING MUG that belonged to my mother's uncle, many MANY years ago....
pretty fancy, i think, for a shaving mug.....

by the time I got it, the little handle had been broken off but i still like it. i keep the key to my windup clock in it and sitting on the dining room mantel......
'just because'.....

BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER gave me this little pot several years ago...I love the way it is shaped and the handles on each side.....it's one of my favorite pieces.....
it also, is one of the very few French pieces that I have.... but that's not the reason I love it...

I love it 'cause SHE gave it to me.....:O)
my friend, MARTHA, gave this pretty colbalt blue dish to me last year...
i love it ! Thanks, Martha...
************************************
and, don't forget
THE GOLDEN RULE....

LOVE, bj

That blue compote is my favorite b/c I collect them. Love that shaving mug too. Don't you just know it's old? I vote for keeping what you bought when you met Mr. Sweetie....it has sentimental value, so that's reason enough. It did tickle me that you "killed" the goose! LOL!

GM BJ, Your post seemed so special this morning. More than having the item, I think having a story that goes with it is what makes it so special and sentimental.

Love Ya,
Chris

Great blue offerings today...I particularly like the shaving mug! Did the man who originally owned this truly appreciate it's beauty?...I would say probably NOT!!

Hi BJ...what is it about us "ol' gals" that we'll hang onto something when it's chipped, broken or whatever? Oh, yeah, it's because we love the way it makes us feel when we see it! Thanks for the crackers & cheese, btw....
Love ya, ♥ Bo

I had to giggle at the poor little headless goose! Your figurines are so pretty, and I love your cobalt blue compote glass! :-)

You have such pretty treasures.

I have to comment on your snack. It looks yummy. I once worked for a man who would bring me the empty glass jars from the cheese. They were the perfect size for the children. We still use them when we want a small drink.

Jean, you are just as sentimental as I am! I love the little figurines, headless goose, leafless tree and all. However, the shaving mug brings back sweet memories for me as I have a very old "Old Spice" shaving mug that belonged to my Dad. It may not be pretty to others who stop in, but it is beautiful to me. Anything our girls give us is special no matter what it is; we'll love it.
Love,
Martha

Some nice pieces you have here. I keep odd stuff like this around too, even if it's not worth anything.

Actually I keep odder stuff than this around, but not as odd as Lisa at Lisa's Chaos. Ask her what she's got in her freezer sometime!

I LOVE your blues in your post. That shaving mug is awesome...and very fancy! I also have not had that pineapple spread in a long, long time...I had forgotten about it. It will now be on my shopping list cause it is GOOD!

Isn't it wonderful to actually remember this and that from all our little delights?

So many childhood gifts... :) ah I sigh a mother's sigh.

And yet what caught here BJ was the delight of saving the reminders of days long ago...when marriage was young... I cling to those as well...with a ferocity, in a gentle Muse like fashion, of course!

Hi BJ! You know, I keep intending to do the Blue and Pink days but I swear...I just cannot get my act together! I need to just devote a day out of the week to devote to doing this. I am trying to make my life more structured so that I won't be so stressed out at the end of the week and so far I haven't even been able to do that! I'll round me up some blue things around the house and snap away!

Love ya,
Deanna :)

Hello BJ. I am so late today. thank you for your visit today and I loved your comment about my pretty figurine. I too love your blues today. the figurines are so sweet and I loved the shaving mug. They are so hard to find these days. The vase from you daughter is so pretty and your cobalt blue dish is a sweet gift.
You do have blue girl.

My cousin is here from MI. so the day flew by. We played all day, leaving little time for visiting. I hope I get to everyone today.
