CHRISTOPHER REEVE
He was such a good man and a very fine actor and I would like to honor him today on
my BLUE posting....
*****************
Christopher D'Olier Reeve (September 25, 1952 – October 10, 2004) was an American actor, director, producer, and writer.
He established himself early as a Juilliard-trained stage actor before portraying Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent in four films, from 1978 to 1987.
On May 27, 1995, Christopher Reeve was paralyzed in an accident during the cross country portion of an eventing competition. He was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
He lobbied on behalf of people with spinal cord injuries, and for human embryonic stem cell research after this accident. He founded the Christopher Reeve Foundation and co-founded the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. Reeve died at age 52 on October 10, 2004 from cardiac arrest caused by a systemic infection.
Reeve married Dana Morosini in April 1992, and they had a son, Will. Reeve also had two children, Matthew and Alexandra, from a previous relationship with Gae Exton. Dana Reeve died of lung cancer in March 2006.
NOTE ADDED:
Both Alexandra, 22, and her older brother Matthew, 26, serve on the board of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, founded by their father after his devastating 1995 horse-riding accident to fund research for cures and therapies for paralysis. On Monday the pair will join their half-brother Will Reeve, now 14, onstage at the foundation’s annual gala in Manhattan. According to Alexandra, "Will's doing well. He loves school. He is playing hockey and football and keeping busy with friends."

GM BJ,That was so nice of you to honor everyones' hero. His story was so tragic, I wonder what has happened to his son.
Lo♥e Ya,
Chris
mornin BJ, I loved Christopher too, what an amazing human being he was, so courageous. The tragic ending of 2 lives, Christophger and Dana, God bless them, and their son! Have a great week BJ! xoxoxo
Great post, BJ. I always enjoyed Christopher Reeve as an actor, but he showed us the strength of his character by the way he lived his life. He made us all proud.
By the way, you are quite the "hottie" Superwoman.
Proving once again that you never know what the next hour or day is gonna bring you. Nice tribute.
Good Morning BJ, I was just about to come and tell you to click on the movie and you already did. How did I know that's what you did? Because I have done it many times. Duh! smile.
I love your post on Christopher Reeve. I really liked him and was devastated when he had that terrible accident. I didn't know his wife died. How sad for that family. It sounds like the children are doing well and keeping things going on the foundation.
I am glad you enjoyed the JOY. It is a great wake up call. My sister sent it to me so I am sure it has circulated plenty.
Hugs...Jeanne
Hi BJ, Christopher Reeve was not only a great actor but also a great humanatarian. Both he and his wife were so very brave. Thanks for reminding us of him. Happy Blue Monday.
Love,
Sweetie
Neat post BJ. He was so handsome, wasn't he?
Morning BJ...You look almost as good in your costume as he did...almost, I said! What a tragic story his and Dana's lives were...I remember she died of lung cancer & never smoked! Hugs, ♥Bo♥
Good Morning BJ... What a wonderful post to honor a wonderful man... He story was so sad and he was strong threw it all...as was his wife... It is weird the superstitions of anyone playing the role of superman... How these strange things occur...I always loved him in the movies and on TV... Thanks for the great BLUE Monday post... Have a great day...
(((HUGS)))

Oh, BJ! That picture of you is priceless! So funny! :-D
And this is such a sweet tribute. I loved Christopher Reeves, too. "Somewhere in Time" was one of my favorite movies he made (I have the song on my player). Just a wonderful man, and he really did look like Superman, too.
Gentle and handsome and strong.
Loved this post, and loved meeting you on my blog. Thank you for dropping by to visit.
XO,
Sheila :-)
He really was a great Superman & YOU are the cutest Supergirl I've ever seen! And the Bluejay is my favorite bird!
Thanks for checkin' up on me! I'm SO behind on blogging & will try my best to catch up!
Enjoy your day!
Kathy
you've been tagged sweetie, come by and see me!!
BJ, this was such a great post! I decided I would participate in Blue Monday on my blog as well. I added my link to Sally's blog but perhaps I shouldn't have since my blog is private. I will be happy to send invitations to anyone wanting to drop by.
Have a wonderful Blue Monday!
Nice tribute! I remember all that happened and how shocked I was. Then shocked again when his lovely wife died. I am glad you posted how their son is doing. He was too young to lose both parents. His older siblings are there for him it seems. Did you ever see him in "Noises Off"? Hilarious if you want to laugh till you cry.
Hi Bj! another creative blue monday from you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!! Gobble gobble!
He will always be Superman to me. A lovely tribute to Chris and his family.
Oh, the man in blue!! His life touched so many people. Thanks for sharing this. Sally
Happy Blue Monday! My first today!
He was a superman wasn't he?
BJ, You have touched my heart this morning. The Christopher Reeve's story is one of true love and courage. I pray for his son's happiness. Thanks for sharing this story. Hugs, Terrie
I love Christopher Reeve, too. He proved he really was Superman by showing such courage, grace and love as he lived his life even though his life turned out so differently than he had planned. I really believed he would walk again and he problably would have if he'd had more time. His wife was a beautiful person inside and out. Their love story is such an inspiration. They are both heroes!
I am in a group of people with spinal cord illness who watched his research closely, hoping anything he found helpful for injury would also help illness. He and his wife were very brave, very inspirational.
What a nice post, and completely unexpected for a Blue Monday theme.
Christopher Reeve was loved by all. Great Blue Monday Post. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi BJ,
Christopher Reeve was a great actor, but more than that he was a very courageous individual. He faced his disability with lots of guts in my opinion.
His story and that of his wife is so tragic-I've wondered about his children!
Thanks for the post.
Diane
Thanks for your creative blue tribute. That Superman suit was really blue wasn't it!

Hey girl , there aren't any phone booths anymore . So where ya changing into your outfit at ??
hehehehehehehehehehehe !!
Oh, BJ, didn't you just love Christopher? He was such a handsome man and I just loved him. He seemed like a very nice man too! Tragedy! He and his wife's life ended up like the two loves from "Somewhere in Time" - together.
Now, Ms. Superwoman, don't you just look like the cutest little super heroine!!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Dear BJ, Christopher Reeve was a true hero. In spite of everything that happened to him he did so much for other people with spinal cord injuries. Great post!
What a wonderful post, BJ!
Beautiful tribute!
I always thought this was the saddest thing...breaks my heart really
btw I can't access emails today, not sure why, I'm thinking your parcel mighta arrived? hope so
Sarah
I still remember when I went to see the first Superman movie that Christopher Reeve made...be still my heart but he sure was a handsome fellow!! He certainly was a good, kind hearted, caring man as well and it was devastating when the news came out that he had fallen off a horse and was paralyzed. His children can certainly be proud of who their father was!! xoxo
What a beautiful tribute to him. I loved him as superman..he seemed to have such a gentle soul. And that picture of you just cracks me up!!! But it's fitting .... YOU ARE A SUPER HERO!
BJ
He was such a heroic man to stand up for spine injuries...and how sad his wife died also, seems unfair! It was good of you to remind us of this great man!
Christopher Reeve was such a handsome man and such pretty blue eyes, he had.
It's nice his legacy will live on and perhaps one day, someone will be able to benefit from the research now being done regarding spinal cord injuries.
When did you write this post? Because last night I suddenly thought of him and I have no idea why he popped in to my head. Thank you for a different kind of Blue Monday post.
Hi there BJ! What a darling post. I just last night watched Superman on TV Land.
I just dropped in to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I will be gone all week but I will come visit you next Monday. I will feature your blog on Monday as well.
Have a great week and many hugs,
Deanna :)
Christopher Reeve accomplished more from a wheelchair than most of us do up walking around. He put his brain to good use. It is just tragic that he and Dana only got to enjoy three years of a "normal" marriage, but she was faithful to care for him and try to make their lives worthwhile. Thanks for reminding us all of his benevolence. This is a good time of year for that reminder. Happy Thanksgiving!
Martha
Hi sweet lady... just hopping by to say hello and wish you and your family a blessed and happy Thanksgivings… by the way, I always remember our "American" Super Man with much love, his life was an inspiration, and an example... so nice of you mentioning him...
Hugs
