I am SOOO into BEACHY...

Hi, ya'll....

If you think...for one minute...
that we quit wanting things when we get olden....
THINK AGAIN, SISTER.

I am so in love with this adorable little laundry space.....
and I. WANT. IT. ...:)

I love everything about it.
Lovin' the blue Ball jars...

the blue of the jars, the light blue of the shelf fabric....the colors of water...

the sandy colors of the baskets, the mirror and the adorable curtains...

all of it comes together for that light, beachy feel...

I, too, am going to have a tiny space for my washer/dryer area...

even thinking of the stackable
set.....

this photo has offered me many ideas....and you should go over to
THE FANCY SHACK ....and she tells about how she did a lot of this...ON A BUDGET.

You can also see the BEFORE..
...don't you love BEFORES and AFTERS...?
meee, too..!

(I could just die that I don't remember which blog I got this from.....so sorry)

Altho this room isn't BEACHY....it COULD be if some shells and more of the turquoisey color of water were added....don't ya think?  Just a great turquoise basket , filled with shells....and.....there ya are!!

I know I've shown this photo of that amazing FILE CABINET, painted in the PERFECT gray and used for a bedside table.

I am still searching HI and LO for a couple to use at THE SUMMER HOUSE, if EVER we get moved there.
I have a feeling I may not be able to find the DOUBLE cabinets, such as this one...but the right SINGLE ones can be just as awesome.....
* I would like to say right here...
we have had 4 realtors, show our house to one couple each
IN 4 MONTHS....
doesn't quite sound right does it...???

I like the looks of these olden, chippy shutters beside the MIRROR..??
or is it a  PASS-THRU into another room..?
I think it's a mirror.....

ANYway...the shutters look as tho they might have been
washed up on the beach and lay in the sun for a long time....
don't ya love it ??

OOO and just take a look at the following BEACHY kitchens...

THIS one just takes my breath away....
so clean...
sharp
roomy
and the color of WATER is sooo easy on the eye.

While THIS one is way too modern for my taste, I wouldn't give a flyin' flip if it WAS modern
with a view like THAT....
WOW
(do people REALLY live like this..?)

That pretty
blue-water color...

and I love her clear stools.

THIS one is sooo fun....
and she didn't even have to find blue for her kitchen...
there's THE REAL THING right off her deck.

I absolutely adore this photo because it shows how EASY it is to add a beachy color..
in rugs, napkins...

I like that she is letting the awesome twin rugs take the stage
instead of flooding the counter
tops with a lot of color.
ALSO lovin' her twin pendant lights...

AND........

I know THIS isn't THE BEACH...
BUT, HEY...

it's pretty close...
IT'S BRIGHT BLUE WATER

and I am LOOKING for this very sign...
It (or one just like it) MUST hang in THE SUMMER HOUSE....

no SALTY water...

no
SANDY toes...

but don't you think it would be so cute,

in this room close to the POOL..??

YEP...

I am definitely ON THE HUNT
for  a sign like THIS.....

XOXO
bj

have a GOOD day ! xoxo

Hi BJ. I just saw that sign on esty. Just type in Sandy toes and salty kisses and one of the sites it will give you is esty.
They look just like the one you are wanting.
How's the move coming? Are you gonna go ahead and move in? Blessings, Becky

Lovely inspiration, I have seen these signs on Etsy too!

Wow, I love these! So different from your current decorating but why not take the opportunity to change things up? Only 4 showings in 4 months!? Goodness! Praying things pick up for you.

Loving this beachy look for you Bj, being right next to the fabulous blue of the pool. Hope you viewings grow and you sell fast!

I am a Florida girl, currently living in land-locked Idaho. I miss the beach more than I can possibly express.

I love the look of that little laundry room. Laundry might be a welcome chore in such a room.

BJ,
Love your inspirational "Beachy" themed photos!!!
A visit to see my daughter~in~law recently and she showed me she has 'a thing' for Beachy decor presently in her downstairs bath!!!
I agree with A Quiet Corner. . .I was thinking you could make that sign, dear friend!!!
Thanks for sharing these cool and inviting inspirational photos!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Beach themes are beautiful :) You have some lovely inspiration. Have a great week, BJ.

Hugs to you!

I think 4 showings in 4 months would be pure torture! I'm sure it is since you've gotten your mind ready to move. Do the realtors give you any feedback?

All of your inspiration pics are wonderful. Keep your chin up and you'll be at the Summer House before you know it.

I think it's time for a vacation by the beach!

Aww BJ, I sure hope the realtors step up and start showing your place more. I also hope you find the sign you want.

God bless.

You're going to have so much fun! I agree, with that kind of a view who cares what the furniture looks like?!

bj ... love your idea of a beach look. Moves are a good time to make decorating changes. You will have fun.
The pool is beautiful and nothing wrong with dreaming of the beach and sand.

A beach look is always so much fun! Four shows in four months sure isn't many but I suppose you are only looking for one buyer. The right person will show up and it's gone!

Love the sign - I bet you can make it as your very talented. Like all the beachie rooms - very cool and relaxing.
Sorry the house isn't selling - do you have it staged? Hopefully now that school is out and people are getting ready to move before school starts you will get a buyer.

You're definitely onto something here BJ! I love that sea-sky blue. I'd have it on the porch ceiling and on the kitchen floor if I could.

I jumped the gun and left this comment before you had a chance to link in!

You are going to have SO much fun decorating in pretty beachy blues.

Have a good Blue Monday, BJ.

MAKE the sign!!!!

It's distressed looking, and not precise. You can do it. Come on! And Mr. Sweet will do the distressing of it, for you. :-)

Oh I am so sorry, that you are having so much trouble, with selling your house. Your house is adorable. So it can't be that.

Is the housing market very depressed, in your area?

Has your neighborhood changed radically?

??????????????????????????? You have kept your house up and decorated and sweet. It can't be "the house." -sigh-

Happy New Moon!

Oh and we love our stack-able laundry. I recommend it!

We too have very little room, because we had to squeeze laundry, into downstairs powder room.

Stack-ables rock!!!!!!!

Happy New Moon!

I LOVE the beach-y look! The only thing better would be if I could live at the beach!! The laundry room calls me, too. I want to redo mine and this has given me some good ideas. I have a little cabinet that looks cheap. I think I'll take the door off and put a curtain on. Oh - my little dog would reach inside and get his doggie treats! Maybe I'll move them up so he can't reach them. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yep, we older ones love new things I agree.

Well now you know I love all things beachy, so this was a post full of perfection for me. I so wish your house would sell. I would want to be where that pool is!! The sign is perfect. Jenny Matlock makes signs...maybe she could do that one?

I'm wishing you much luck on selling your home and getting moved into that cute pool house! Real estate is really moving around here -- there is actually a deficit of resale homes. That's pretty typical for AZ -- this state is usually one of the first to take a nose-dive in a bad economy, but also one of the first to start recovering.

I love, love, love that white on white kitchen with the turquoise rugs! Those pendant lights look like something off of a ship -- wow, so gorgeous!

Hi BJ, didn't find a sign like that but I did find a little bitty burlap pillow that says the same thing. It is from the Country House in Salisbury, MD -- a darling shop if you are ever near there. Here is the link:

Can't wait to see how you decorate your new house...loved your old one! Suzy from PA
