The DOLLAR TREE Seasonal Decor Party

May 20th sneaked up  on me and I didn't even realize it was the 20th today.....
and I want to wish my beautiful daughter,
STACY and JENT
a HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY 24TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.
She has been sick the last few days and when she is feeling like it,
I will make her an ANNIVERSARY PIE.
We love you to the moon and back....
XOXOXO

FUN...FUN...FUN...

HI, EVERYONE....
There's LOTS OF GREAT PARTIES going on today...

Ever so often, your friend and mine, DEBBIE DOO, along with
        FOX HOLLOW,
              hosts a crafting party

that's more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

I try my best to play in ALL her parties..even tho crafting is HARD for me.
(I have to depend on glue, safety pins and lots of cups of COFFEE...SOMEtimes a glass or two of WINE helps me out A LOT..:)

(I joined in with their CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE and it was sooo fun.)

For THIS Seasonal Decor Party, I started with a clear, plastic, round TRAY.....$1.00...

 ...a darling little metal GECKO
and, since I have a FETISH about cute GIFT BAGS,
I chose the one above because I am going to make
myself an

AWESOME POOL TRAY
*
BECAUSE...
if you remember,
THIS incredible swimming pool
is right outside my future dining room,

and I thought a cute POOL SIDE TRAY
was in order.

Sooo, this little clear plastic tray needed a coat of WATERMELON

and it would be on it's way to
C.U.T.E.

(Debbie's the one who told us about
WATERMELON SPRAY PAINT....)

Lovin' the pink color...
lookin' so much like a good ripe watermelon, I could just LICK it....!

I cut the cute gift bag and MOD PODGED it on the PINKNESS...
hot glued the little GECKO onto  the side....
Yes, ma'am....just to add AMAZING to that little cheap tray.

Uh...Oh...
did I get waaay too much podge on it ...???

ahhhh....look at that...
just as smooth as a baby's butt bottom...:)

 I'm lovin' my $3.00 tray...
TRAY....$1
GECKO...$1
GIFT BAG...$1

Already had paint and mod podge..

I WISH I had some of the CRAFT SCISSORS that make really pretty edges...
but, I don't ...
will put those on my "I WANT THAT" list.

AND.....I am so SOOO ready for summertime...
water....
flip flops
sunglasses
SUN BLOCK
ice cream...

I'd love to be sitting in that chair, on that cute little rug,
beneath that colorful  umbrella....
RELAXING with a delicious, cold drink.

With the tools of today...HOT GLUE GUNS...MOD PODGE....
one who is NOT crafty can now participate in

CRAFT PARTIES in BLOGLAND
and actually make something that one MIGHT consider a CRAFT.

I'll show you how I am already using my
GECKO TRAY
.....maybe tomorrow.

OK....OK...
here's a hint.....
 XO XOXO
bj

Hey, ladies....it is NOT too late to join in the fun....
Make yourself something cute.....
something simple...
something that makes you smile and....
link it up at
DEBBIE DOO'S.

...a really fun project...

p.s.   I just HAD to add this cute comment...

" You did a great job on your tray, bj. Love the watermelon color. You are more creative than you think or you had a lot of wine for this project! :)"

I agree that it is easier than ever to be creative. And it helps keep the old synapses firing! Creative people always seem to be more alive, or just enjoy life more.

I would have never thought to do that, BJ!! It turned out GREAT!!

I have a metal tray that was my DH's ex-wife's & I HATE IT!!! It is great for carrying drinks to & from the gazebo & hot tub & I'm too thrifty to throw it out. I think I'm going to spray paint it & do something pretty that appeals to me...make it my own.

Thanks for the inspiration!!

Hugs,
Rett

Ah, so you're both a closet crafter AND a closet drinker!

Thanks for playing.

Happy Blue Monday, BJ.

PS Have Mr. Sweet make a base for it and place it beside your lounge.

Oh dear! I never craft anymore. The most creative thing I do is my little Fairy garden..I think I burned out on crafting a LONG time ago.
I'll just watch all of you create. Is that ok?? 'sides..I don't have a pool! PH jackhammered it up years ago. Can you imagine anyone doing that?? All that money and then dumped it in on itself. Always a day late and a pool short!!! :(
