...rugs

Hi, Ya'll...
I hope all is well with YOU and YOURS.

Things are great here at Sweet Nothings.

I'm just beginning to try to think about
"putting our new place together"
and

the first thing I would like to do is
find an awesome rug for the dining area.

This is a nice, large area, with that amazing pool
right outside those beautiful doors.
Imagine....
a dining table in the middle of this room...
on a pretty indoor/outdoor rug that doesn't care one single bit about WET FEET.

So, I am wanting

SOMETHING FUN !!

There's NO pattern at all in the whole room.
No window treatments WANTED other than the
plantation blinds on beautiful windows...

...natural BASKETS....

BURLAP...

BEAUTIFUL TILE....

  WARMTH NEEDED...!!

6 off white chairs...

natural wood
dining table.....
I will add leaves back to the dining table to make it larger...

made the table smaller for showing the house to prospective buyers.

I sold that blue rug today...

(OOO, I'm gonna love this room !!)

Summertime will find scenes such as THIS ONE

 right outside the doors.....
SO...

my question to YOU...

Am I TOTALLY CRAZY for LOVIN' this bright CHEVRON rug....????

...will I love one of these
BRIGHT...
PATTERNED....
F.U. N.
INDOOR/OUTDOOR RUGS

as much in the
WINTERTIME

as I am going to in the
SUMMERTIME.......

?

WHY NOT ???
All these patterns......

blowing my mind.
I love this ROLLED UP one, too...
Do I love it MORE than the stripes....???

...SUCH CHOICES....
they are all on sale for about $150.00 for an 8x11...

and, they are local so ......NO SHIPPING.

The carpet store will even allow me to bring it back if I decide I made a mistake...

BLUE....for the water

GREEN....for the summer grass

ORANGE...for the sunsets

REDS...GOLDS...WHITES....
ummmmm
I am pretty sure I would LOVE THIS TO PIECES in the SUMMERTIME.... Am I too fickle to LOVE IT IN THE WINTERTIME....???

OR....
had I better COME BACK DOWN TO EARTH
and go with a NEUTRAL
???
OR....
have 2 rugs...
Seasonal !!
Yeah....I really like THAT idea.

I love the chevron rug... if you aren't using a bunch of color, then I think it will be perfect:) Try it, you just might like it! HUGS to you sweet BJ!

Two rugs! At those prices, you can't go wrong. You're younger and more hip than I though, BJ, so perhaps you'd be fine with the vivid colors all through the year.

I say GO FOR IT!!!

I love the flower rugs for spring & summer. Your idea to have 2 rugs is good. Warmer colors for fall & winter would be perfect. Go for it!

Carol

I love the flower rugs too. We just put hardwood through the house in September and there are so many choices the durn floors are still bare! I can't decide, so I'm afraid I'm not going to be any help to you. When you decide can you come up here and help me choose a few?

I love the festive colors! If money isn't an object (and it is ALWAYS an object for me... bless my heart...) I would get the most fabulous and colorful one for summer and then a simple neutral one to keep during winter just in case.

Hi bj, what a nice problem to have! I think with the sale going on and no delivery fees you should try out several rugs so you find the perfect one. Yikes, with all those pretty colorful patterns it’s not going to be easy.
I love how you are decorating, using patterns where it will be easy to change out when you want a change. Can’t wait to see what you decide.
Hope your week is lovely.

'Tis summer! Get one, which rocks your boat now!

When winter comes, see how it goes. You might continue to love it. you might not. But don't worry about winter time want's now. Have fun with summer.

If you need a change, then is the time to choose it.

Oh isn't this so much fun?!?!?!?!?!

Hugs...

Since each of the rugs are very bright and bold, you might want to do "a trial run" first. That way, the store will take back if it does not look right. There is no doubt, you will find the right solution.

Whatever you choose will be ok. You have the ability to decorate so go with whatever you like. Hope your Mother's Day was a good one. Have a blessed day. Madeline

I think I would tire with the chevron pattern. My vote is for either the red or green floral. I think you could warm either of those up a bit for winter.

I am so into chevron right now. But in a rug? For me I think I would pick two rugs, One for spring/summer and one for fall/winter. Or perhaps one neutral that would be good for all seasons. Oh, so many choices. Whatever you choose will be the right choice for you. Have fun decorating.

Love the bright rug BJ! You have to get it!

Love the colors! Bet you won't get tired of either of these rugs. If the chevron rug keeps calling you back, that's the one! I love the flower rug and wish I had a place for one just like it!

I had to read what everyone was saying...I love the bright rugs, but I just don't know about it all year round. I always like the rich warm colors for Fall and Christmastime. But for summer, I think it would be great! Go with the one your heart loves...

Oh bj, don't hate me..but those stripes! Sheesh? I mean it's your home and I am sure you know what you are doing...but...I mean if you feel you HAVE to. Who am I to say. The floral? Better..not sure which but anything but those zig zag stripes! So..am I still your friend? I love you, you know!! :)

Wsprsweetly Of Cottages said...

I think the dark red floral or the sage...you know...

No, you're not crazy! You just look like you're making yourself a little vacation cottage. And that sounds great to me. I'd like to go on vacation right about now. Work is getting too me and there is just simply too much of it this time of year. A vacation environment would be relaxing and fun! Can I come over?

Bee courageous. Show show off your artistic side. The bright colores are great. Besides bright is in right now.

If you love it, get it. I would maybe vote for the one you love for 3 seasons and maybe a neutral, inexpensive one for the holidays. I made the mistake when we moved here of buying patterned sofa and loveseat (in May) and suddenly it was Christmas and all my decorations clashed with the colors. I couldn't use red and green, I couldn't use blues...I had given it no thought as to how it would be during the holidays.

I love them all, but I'm all over those flowered ones!!

Hi bj, when I got a rug for our family room, I had to bring several home to try out and then take back what I didn't like. They can look so different in different lighting. I LOVE the idea of two rugs. A fun one for summer would be wonderful, but I think you'll want neutral for Fall/Winter. However, that's me thinking out loud. LOL!! It's your house, you make the rules. Have fun, dear bj!
