Hi, Everyone

this is a
and my photos leave a lot to be desired.

Back when I didn't know squat about a camera I was using and didn't have
a clue
how to turn off  the flash..

That's MY mother in her flapper days...she was as cute as a button.
I had so many nice things that belonged to my children's great-great grandparents as well as things from their great grandparents and grandparents. So many of the items were small and I was afraid that , over the years, they would be lost.

I decided to make them each a
to hang on their wall.
I bought the box frames at MICHAELS
and covered the back of each in the red print fabric.

That pretty piece of crochet, the crochet hook and the picture belonged to my mother-in-law. I found the crocheted purple rose in her sewing machine drawer after she passed away.
The watch belonged to Mr. Sweet's dad..

I had a brass plaque engraved with ROOTS.

My mom, as a young "flapper"....her glasses and some of her lovely jewelry....
That's my dad and some of his pocket knives and a silver dollar he had for years and years....I even put his nail clippers in there. :)

The lady and gentleman in the left, top corner, are my children's great-great grandmother and grandfather...the glasses in the area beside them belonged to her and the glass bottle stopper is from a bottle that was in his saloon, so many years ago.

The two gentlemen holding that PRECIOUS baby the right corner...that's both my grandpa's and they are holding ME !! :)

The sewing notions on the bottom left were my mother's.

they are so important!
Hang onto them with all your might.....
they really are
and what made you who you are today.

my beautiful STACY...
and to sweet daughter*in*law,
to JESSICA, a grandgirl...
especially to my mother, HELEN, up in Heaven....

Great idea and trust the younger folks appreciate them in time to come. So many now days are not interested in what was. Just living the good life now. May you have a great and blessed mother's day. Going to church and then to my son's for a good meal.

Such a beautiful idea that it makes my gears turn and my eyes light up. I'm afraid that many of these things have already been passed on to those who might enjoy them, but I like this idea even better. Happy Mother's Day, Dear One!

I vaguely remember this post from before but I'm so very glad you've brought it up again, so I can examine it in detail. What a touching tribute to those who came before you, BJ! I'm going hunting to see if I can come up with some little treasures to do the same.

Thank you for sharing & "Happy Mothers Day" to you & your girls, too.
