Hello, everybody...
I hope and pray that all is well in your world.
Things are good here at Sweet Nothings.
Do you read MINDY at RINDY MAE...? Well, she is the CUTEST thang....
and she has some of the BEST recipes....ALL. THE. TIME.
and, I guess her MOTHER does, too, because she is always sending them to MINDY.
and the other day, Mama sent an awesome but easy dessert recipe and .....
Mindy made them....
Aren't these the prettiest things you've ever, in your life, seen.....
and can you believe it's
BREAD SLICES....rolled very thin....covered in a luscious concoction...
rolled in ANOTHER luscious concoction...
BAKED to a golden brown...
Well, loving CREAM CHEESE, POWDERED SUGAR, CINNAMON,
and MINDY....
I just had to try it !
WHAT......????
only 5 slices of bread,
(and 2 of them were heels)
1/2 pkg. cream cheese
PLENTY of powdered sugar, tho....
O, and plenty of cinnamon...
and MAPLE flavoring...
First off....mine didn't ROLL pretty like Mindy's did...
when you get down to the last 4 or 5 slices of bread,
it tends to be a little DRY....so you lose a lot of rolling power...
OOO, that
BROWN sugar and
cinnamon...
sooo good.
(yep...I used the brown IDEAL sweetener)
mine turned out looking like mini burritos...
but let me just say right here...
DELICIOUS......and.....SWEET... O, SO SWEET.
At the original recipe site, I saw THIS...
Make it Special: Churros are typically served in some kind of paper because they are a little greasy. Take a piece of parchment paper and roll it into a cone shape, place the cone into a short drinking glass or a vase if you have it, then set a few of the roll ups inside the cone. Easy serving and you can just set them around the table so your guests can easily grab one as they walk by.
OK....
I have parchment paper...
