Hey, everyone...
I surely hope your week is going great.
Things are moving right along here at SWEET NOTHINGS.
No matter how busy we get...
we still......GOTTA EAT.
When I saw these
BACON RANCH STUFFED EGGS
that my bloggy friend, MARCI, at
STONE COTTAGE ADVENTURES,
whipped up for her crew,
I went into
Deviled Egg Hissy Fit.....
* * *
Her recipe:
6 Hard Boiled Eggs
1/2 cup Chopped Bacon, plus a little more to sprinkle on top
1/2 cup Ranch Salad Dressing
Slice eggs in half. Pop out the yolks. Mash them with the Ranch Dressing and bacon bits. Scoop the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.

Well, I made them and ate them all before I even THOUGHT of a camera...
SOOO, I had to make them again....
AGAIN with a SPIN.
Altho I am officially a "NON- EGG- LIKER", one of my favorite foods .....DEVILED EGGS.
And, I like them DRESSED TO THE HILT
Since we are on a
"watch what we eat" routine AGAIN,
I used Low Fat Ranch and just enuf to hold the filling together to go back into the white.
I had only 3 boiled eggs...
chopped 98% free HAM
Fat free shredded cheese
and we LUV freshly ground BLACK PEPPER and LOTS of it.
We had a great big bowl of fresh fruit and WALNUTS....
OH HONEY
All this talk of EGGS reminds me of a
This is the cutest, olden movie, ever.
I haven't seen it in ages....but it was cute back then. :)
It was filmed in 1947...
I was 10 yrs old....OH DEAR....:)
If you like an old, really funny movie, WALMART has this one for $2.95.
Cheap enuf, hu?

Your egg recipes sound delicious. Look that way too. I have the movie The Egg And I and also love it. It is based on a true story that took place on the Olympic Peninsula here in Washington state. I have been there and found the road that the egg farm was on is called The Egg And I Road. Fun.
ReplyDeleteLove deviled eggs ... will have to try your way of fixing them.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Those yummy eggs and the bowl of fruit is a meal in itself! I could feast on that, bj!
ReplyDeleteI remember our whole family watching The Egg And I. We loved it! And, I'm an eggaholic so to these recipes are right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteMy the sight of these egg-licious recipe makes me crave to have this for dinner. Definitely adding this on this weeks menu. Got my eye on your next posts.
ReplyDeleteThose egg recipes look delicious. It is almost 3:30 AM here, and you've got me seriously craving deviled eggs. Well I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow! I have loved The Egg and I movie for years. I was the only person that I knew who even knew about it or remembered it until now. I liked the kitchen and the old stove that they had. One of my favorite characters in the movie is Ma Kettle. Remember Ma's housekeeping (especially her closets)? My closets are Ma Kettle inspired. I found Mountain Mama's comment interesting. I had no idea there was a road by the name of The Egg and I Road. I always learn something new from blog reading.
ReplyDeleteYour eggs sound mighty tasty BJ-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteYUM! I love deviled eggs and so does my Granddaughter Alex:) My Aunt makes really good ones and I always request that she brings them to family gatherings:) Have a blessed day dear BJ, BIG HUGS!
ReplyDeleteYum. We loved deviled eggs, too. I forwarded your blog post to my son. He uses ranch in his eggs - and the guy loves bacon. This looks right up his alley.
ReplyDeleteThey do look good!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are back in "watch what you eat land" again, hu? Betcha' somebody had a doc check-up and ..... Well.... You know.....
I tell ya', I really wondered about your dinner of a Taste Freeze concoction, the other day. -evil grin-
When we were in FL for 3 months, once a week, we had a dinner of a huge ice cream sundae. !!!!!! Hmmmm, no wonder my heart arteries clogged up, hu? We forget those "little things here" and "Little things there." -sigh-
:-)
Oh BJ the eggs are so delightful looking. We always have them at family meals but I just might do some today. Have a great week-end dear sista.

The deviled eggs really do look good. Saw that movie the Egg and I years ago. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteLove it... so simple with the dressing but a little different with bacon.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a deviled egg in forever! No one really eats them here, so I don't prepare them, but those look delicious!
ReplyDeleteWe also like deviled eggs, but hardly ever make them... unless it's for an occasion. Have to remedy that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've never heard of "The Egg and I", but will now keep an eye out for it. Thanks

You come up with the most interesting "watching your diet" meals. You could write a book! This looks totally yummy to me. I'm going to put the eggs on to boil now.
ReplyDeleteOh yummy! Your eggs look delish!
ReplyDeleteHi Bj. It is a good thing I had breakfast when I read your blog or I would be wanting deviled eggs for sure. They look so yummy and I like your spin that you gave them. Fresh fruit, yummy, I try to include it in what I eat. Hope all is well and I know you will enjoy your new home once the move is complete. It is the packing that gets you. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri friend.

If you made them and ate them w/o taking pictures, OF COURSE you had to re-do them (wink wink) and I for one thank you, really. These look delicious and would be a huge hit for my fam!
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting you today from Katherine's (Thursday's Favorite Things).
These look so good...and I love how you smothered them in cracked pepper - mmm look so tasty!
ReplyDeleteI also love deviled eggs - I make one with crab meat in them and they are soooooooo good too. I am going to try your recipe.
ReplyDeleteDon't work to hard moving - rest.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mary
I have read that book MANY times! It served as the inspiration for the Ma and Pa Kettle books/series. I loved the part where Ma took out her big bouncy brown beauties (bread loaves) from the oven and the poor gathered her puny little loaves to her breast and hurried home!
ReplyDeleteWe are also fresh ground pepper lovers and crazy about deviled eggs. I must try the ranch dressing..
ReplyDeleteYours I have done, and they are fantastic! Only problem is...I did it without the low cal and low fat ingredients. And actully, we need to get back on that "careful" band wagon again too.
Hi bj, I feel exactly the same as you about eggs but I LOVE deviled eggs 'so much.' Your post today is not only good enough to eat, it is brilliantly presented. Girl, you know how to do the 'bestest' things on a computer. So impressive just like your everything deviled eggs. Beverly and I are always saying your posts are the BEST of all and the most yummy. We mean it!!! Smile.
ReplyDeleteLove you dearly sister friend. I mean that too.
Jeanne

ReplyDeleteAnd that movie happens to be a family favorite! My sister owns the video version, but we don't have it on DVD.
Fred MacMurray is one of my all time favorite actors.
