Our 2012 ChristmasTree

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow".
♥ ♥ ♥

Hello, everyone...
I couldn't find my tree skirt I bought on clearance last year...and the cloth I ordered this year came in but was the wrong color...(remember HERE), bwaaaa...
so I ended up using RED and WHITE for my Christmas tree table.........and I love it.

I always use the little antique GATE LEGGED table that belonged to my mother for my little tabletop tree.

I made a round, white cloth out of a sheet and added a bit of trim....

I took the shown burlap topper off and....
...added this little cloth that I already had.
My tree is usually decorated with mostly RED and WHITE
so this little tablecloth fit right in.
I SWORE I wouldn't buy one single new things for my tree this year
as we are so busy packing things and I didn't think I needed another piece to pack...
But, then, I went to a local craft mall and saw this
awesome BURLAP with POINSETTIAS  BOW
and just couldn't say NO to my silly self....I am sooo greedy....
I think it's so classic and pretty...festive for a festive time of the year.
This DAVID stocking was made for him in 3rd grade...
He is about to turn 49.
It has hung on our tree since he got it.

I love a classic, old fashioned Christmas tree sooo much.
I love for MY tree to remind me of my childhood Christmas trees
because I firmly believe that MY mama could decorate a tree
prettier than any I've ever seen in fine magazines...or high-end stores.

I remember that she loved putting the tinsel ICICLES  on our tree every year.
She insisted that they go on, one icicle at a time...
now, those are THIN and took FOREVER to get them on....
as soon as she walked out of the room,
my little brother, KEITH and I would stand back and just
throw a handful at a time....:)
If I have a theme for my tree, it would be SANTA CLAUSE...

Santa Clause has always been the most fun for Christmas....

O, I do love angels and such....

but, for MY tree, it's gotta be mostly
SANTA  CLAUSE.

That little CLOWN with the tall red hat hung on my mom's tree for years and years...

It's those kind of things that make CHRISTMAS in my heart.

I don't have to have her photo hanging on my tree every single year to remember her....

but it's just a nice JOY for us when we see her sitting there, smiling,
looking all cute in her black and white stripe shirt....

I can almost hear her infectious laugh right now.......*sigh

I sure am thankful that God gave me HELEN FREDERICK HAWKINS
for my mother.
Little elves....

little clowns...

Red and White Santas

red and white ribbons tied on the branches  with a little cloth clown with RED and WHITE polka dots...this little clown hung on my mama's tree.

Yes, ma'am...I love this kind of decorating.

The little PINK stocking ornament made for daughter, STACY, when she was in elementary,
2nd or 3rd grade.
It has been on our tree ever since, too.

A memory tree makes a very neat Christmas tree. Love all the red and white and the burlap ribbon...well, no wonder you couldn't leave that behind!

Wasn't Debbie's post good?! I hope that a lot of people will read it because what she said is the honest truth. Some might find it scary, but it is the bottom line.

The tree is wonderful, BJ! We were allowed to hang the icicles 3 or 4 on a branch.....my mom would tell us about how she stood back and threw them on! but my dad likes things nice and neat...
Debbie's post was terrific. She certainly has a gift with words, and a beautiful heart.

Your little tree is the cutest and so is your table clothes and new bow. SWEET!
I especially loved the photo of your mother. My mother was a huge lover of Christmas too.

Not sure how the prayer chair works..but it's such a nice idea.
There didn't seem to be a place to sign..or anything like that. Are we supposed to post it??
