HI, YA'LL
Hope your weather is good where you are.
It's still in the middle to high 90's most days here in West Texas....
hot but we can take it 'cause that danged ole 3 digit weather
MADE US TUFF.
We DID have a great little rain last night....wind blowing like crazy
and we got almost an inch....L ♥VED IT.

COOKIES and FALL just pretty much seem to go together. O, we like cookies year 'round but who wants to heat up the house with the oven going....NO ONE.
sooo, I usually wait until cooler weather to bake cookies.
SUGAR COOKIES...ummm
SUGAR COOKIES have always been such a favorite around here.
I have several great sugar cookie recipes but my GO-TO is
SUGAR COOKIE MIX...
just add egg and milk
and I always like to add
ALMOND flavoring.
A powdered sugar and milk glaze, laced with more ALMOND flavoring....
...little FALL CANDY SPRINKLES
always make me smile.....and besides, they taste gooood....
they aren't hard and crunchy like some of the Christmas cookie decorations.
These are soft and creamy and........well.......GOOD.

Next, I made
PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES......ummmmm
......guess you can't get much more AUTUMN
than peanut butter cookies
and
SUNFLOWERS.
My sweet blogging bud, PAT, that lives ON CROOKED CREEK,
L.O.V.E.S.
Sunflowers so much she wants to marry them.
BUT..."Mr. Ed" keeps getting in the way.
heh heh heh.....
3 INGREDIENTS
can ya believe it?
1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1 cup sugar
(or sugar substitute...these cookies don't have a very good
texture using the sugar sub....but they taste pretty good....REAL sugar is best.)
1 beaten egg
**
Yep....it's COOKIE BAKING TIME, ladies...
Once you get them baked, pour yourself a cup of good, hot tea...
or a tall glass of ICED tea (sweet, of COURSE)
OR....
a tall glass of ICY COLD MILK and enjoy it all to the LAST DROP.
lOVE AND KISSES, bj
♥
wow....this post is just FULL of YELLOWS AND ORANGES...
the colors of FALL.
I have FALLED around Sweet Nothings all week long and had fun doing it.
I hope YOU are enjoying this lovely time of the year....
Seize the moment !!
♥
Won't be anytime til we want to put out a little HALLOWEEN...
then, a little THANKSGIVING
and then....the BIGGIE....CHRISTMAS.♥♥♥

Your cookies look great next to your pretty new centerpiece BJ! Have 2 for me:@)
Yummy! These looks so good! It's 5:45 AM and I feel the urge to whip up a batch of cookies before breakfast!
Smiles,
Carol
I love how easy this recipe is. Jim loves his cookies and especially any with peanut butter so I'll have to make these. Great photos bj. Happy Saturday......

Two excellent choices...I love that sugar cookie mix myself and am just waiting for the giant box to come out at the big store, which happens to have your name! Now with ALL this rain you're getting, your rain gauge must be overflowing. So good to hear!
Oh yes! Busy decorating time of year!
I happen to love to decorate, for each and every of the holidays. :-)
Happy Full Harvest Moon,
"Auntie"
Good morning BJ. It looks like you had lots of fun baking yesterday. I get to start that this coming week. It is Canadian Thanksgiving and I have company coming!!!!
God Bless.
I do love cookies! The Mr is dieting so we don't have many here right now.
hugs, Linda
i should know better than to stop in when you reference sweets... which, of course, you do A LOT! :)
You are a baking machine.
The cookies look good. I have the same recipe for peanut butter cookies. Make them for my grandchildren, and my husband, God rest is soul, used to love them. Glad you are getting the rain you need. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Boy, do those look good. I'll have a couple with my cup of tea this morning, if you don't mind... please.
BJ,
I'm with you on the sugar cookies! I just add vanilla, myself.
I've got peanut butter cookies in the kitchen now - mine were pbutter, white and brown sugar, vanilla and baking soda.
I only made half a batch, 'cause that is half as many calories!
Oh those cookies look good!! I think we will have to try them...
Yum! I have a sugar cookie mix from Costco that I need to try out. All the fun is in the decorating! ;-D I'm not a fan of peanut butter cookies but these are sure easy to make! So glad you had some rain. Have a glorious weekend!
XO,
Jane
I love frosted sugar cookies and love the mixes too. Yours look good enough to eat!
OMG...I just want to move in with you and eat everything you make until I get as fat as an elephant! I don't know how you stay so slim! I think I gain a pound every time I read your blog!
OH how I would love to have a blog like yours. I think some folks have just GOT it and some don't.
YOU got it, bj!! :)
The cookies look great, the header looks great... *sigh*
Hey girl, come on over and say hello. I am missing you. I want to make those peanut cookies. Yum, and so easy. And...SUGAR COOKIE MIX??? I swear cooking making is easier than ever. Thank you for the heads up bj,.
I am visiting Beverly and we both want a cookie. HA!
Love you bunches,
Jeanne
I absolutely LOVE sugar cookies! Your fall sprinkled ones look so yummy ♥ visiting from Sunny Simple Sunday Hop.
Your cookies look great! Can never have too many-in my opinion! I'm your newest follower!
I found your blog via the weekly top shot! LOVE it! The cookies look great and I know I will be making them. I am also a new follower. Have a great week ahead!
What yumminess, BJ! You can't get much better than a delicious cookie and a cup of tea (my choice)! I'm so thankful that we've had rain out here in the DFW area all day. Happy weekend!
I do love me some soft sugar cookies! Now that I think about it I haven't really made anything but sugar cookies this summer....Joni
Tasty post!!! I have made the peanut butter cookies before and they ARE good!
So you use a sugar cookie MIX? I'll have to try that! We're going home on Thursday so I plan to bake a batch of two of cookies on Wednesday to take back with me. I found a recipe in one of Amber's magazines for Potato Chop Cookies. Sounds good! Sweet AND salty!!
Now, you are so smart ... just look at the Halloween header you created. I don't decorate for Halloween, but that is pretty neat. Love cookies too. I bake tons of sugar cookies for Christmas for the kids and grandsons.
Blessings, my friend. Glad you got some rain.
Hugs,

Timeless Treasures
I have made your P'nut butter cookies and they are a favorite at my house! I think I will make some today:) Have a blessed Sunday, HUGS!
Stopped by from Sunny Simple. Your cookies look yummy!
:D I can't think of anything better than a post about fall cookies! YUMMY!!!!
I'll take one of each please! Still in the 90's? It's in the 60's here in Michigan! I've been baking up a storm. I have veggies roasting in the oven right now and we just polished off an apple cake with caramel glaze. It's so wonderful to be able to bake again!
Thanks so much for visiting Maple Lane. Your cookies sound/look so delicious. Such lovely photos. I like to make a batch of vanilla sugar this time of year to use on or in cookies. Just split a vanilla bean and place it in a closed container with the sugar. Hope you'll visit often. Mildred
Mmmm, those cookies look so tasty... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #50!
Would love to have you come by and hook up at our PUMPKIN PARTY with these great cookies. Linda
