What's Eating Gilbert Grape

THIS 1993 movie is such a good movie. It's a drama full of lessons.
The net says
"In the small town of Endora, Iowa, Gilbert Grape (Johnny Depp) is busy caring for his mentally disabled brother, Arnie (Leonardo DiCaprio),"
It's a good story....oh, it has a few things that might make you suck your breath in,
but, all in all, I loved it.
Both actors were very young in this movie and both actors were AWESOME...
If you missed this one, you might rent it some night...
I think you'll  like it.

OOO...
and speaking of GRAPES....
These sweet, red grapes are SMOTHERED in the BEST fruit dip...
 and the grapes aren't alone...
NO  sirree....they are keeping company with a big ole handful of toasted WALNUTS...
O HONEY !

This delicious treat is worthy of
FLOWERS...

These flowers off the
Rose of Sharon bush
are about the ONLY flowers I have left.

The beautiful GRAPE LEAVES are from Mr. Sweet's little grape vine in our back yard.

This is the dip that so many of YOU told me about.
SOUR CREAM
and
BROWN SUGAR.....

Who would have EVER thought the two would be sooo tasty  together.

I use the low fat sour cream and the BROWN IDEAL, no calorie sweetener...
and I can just eat it with a spoon. Ummmm
I just put the sour cream into a bowl and start adding the sugar, tasting as I go along. When you get it sweet enuf...
....YOUR DONE.   ummmm UM !
A good movie....
.....a delicious treat.
Yes, ma'am...
we had a GOOD evening.

As a side note, I couldn't agree more on the word verification. It's gotten ridiculous! I turned mine off awhile ago.

BJ I loved that movie. Did not have any idea what it was about when I got it but I like Johnny for sure. Thanks for the recipe. I did not know about the low calorie Brown sugar. That I can use. Been busy getting my little job going. Just doing some short term private duty.

Thanks for the movie recommendation. We LOVE Johnny Depp but have never even HEARD of this one! I am now officially looking for it! Where did you find it?

We are in our camper - well, not NOW! Feeding babies NOW - but I plan on stopping by the store on our way home tonight and will pick up some grapes. I already have the sour cream and brown sugar! Once he gets our TV hooked up and I lay my hands on that movie we will be all set for a good evening!

I'm happy THIS summer wasn't like LAST year! Glad you still have a few flowers. There are new oleander bushes along the fence behind our camping space and a few have some blooms on them.

Hi BJ,
I have put your friend Martha on my prayer list. When I went through Chemo it was all the prayers that lifted me up.

I just love grapes and this is a great dip for them, I would have no problem eating more than one serving of this great treat.

Hope you have a great holiday weekend and thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
Come Back Soon!
