More Potting Bench Luv

I still have POTTING BENCHES on my mind
and I found some I love  HERE.
I thought YOU might like some ideas on making one for yourself.
There's some REALLY  cuties here.
THIS pink lady is just about my VERY FAVORITE, I think.
After she was painted, I hope the LADY OF THE HOUSE gave her
a good coat of that OUTDOOR stuff that protects finishes....
and I am sure she did.
It's waaay too cute not to protect.
THIS one looks like a beautiful WORK HORSE.
Strong, chunky....plenty of work room.......I love the drawer, too.
I'd dearly love to have some of those cute boxes on the right...
I'll be lookin' for some.
A little bit FOO FOO for Sweet Nothings but cute, just the same.
I am LOVIN' that brick flooring beneath it.
( now I will be out trying to locate a bunch of used bricks....GOOD GRIEF)
How much more CHEERFUL could you get ?
THAT  OLDEN  SINK....
O HONEY

{{{{{{ BLUE }}}}}}

Holy Cow...look at this one closely.

THAT is an olden DOOR, painted blue,
pegs and nails and a cute 36 sign.

I have a 3 shelf metal unit in my storage shed...low...just like this one.
ALL I need is THAT DOOR.

What a GREAT idea....do you have an old door in your stash ?  If so, you've got the makings of a KILLER POTTING STATION.
With a view like THAT, ANYthing would look awesome....
and this really does. I love that she has a stool to sit on while potting.
ANY kind of table is going to make a darling potting station.....
do you have a cute table somewhere around ?
I DON'T.........YET !! :)
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR !!
Now, who would have thought to use an old ladder for this purpose ...?
Not me...I am far too un-imaginative...
but it's
.....a BRILLIANT idea.
Another good, sturdy and strong place to work...
Love that she has a blue trash barrel right beside her workspace.
I love all her amazing terra cotta pots...
and MOST OF ALL...
I luv her RED BARN.......
and, of course....I NEED a big ole tin washtub...just like her's
to hold all the fertilizers and such. A CUTE idea.
Awwww.....how cute is this one.
See....I guess you can tuck a cute potting station just about ANYwhere.....
A strip of lattice, a bench made out of pallets, a bright red wheelbarrow,
and a can or two of RED SPRAY PAINTand you're GOOD TO GO....
Shoot....now I am dying for a bright red wheelbarrow.
(did I ever mention that WANT is my middle name?)
SHE HAS WATER FAUCETS...
having WATER piped in for your potting would be the ULTIMATE, don't ya think?
the cat's meow...
the icing on the cake....
the Bonnie and Clyde....
...and I LOVE that wooded mat to stand on (way cheaper than brick, too)
and just look at all her blue enamelware.
Everything about this one could live VERY comfortably at SWEET NOTHINGS.
THIS little beauty belongs to a fellow blogger friend...
JILL, that is married to JACK.
I LOVE her chandy .......
and
I guess she does some pretty good  POTTING at her cute station
'cause
take a look at what she grew !!!!
WOW, Jill, this is one awesome SUN FLOWER.
NOW...tell me...
which of the potting benches I've shown here
do you like the best.?
and.....
are you planning on making one...?..and will you kindly send me a photo
of it, if you do...?
I'd dearly love to showcase YOUR potting bench/station.

These are all precious! I'm just now starting to play with gardening some, and one of these would definitely motivate me to get outside and in the dirt more often! -diane

They are all so very unique and lovely. It's too hot here to do any planting. Just trying to keep my plants alive at this point. Later in the year, when temps start to cool down, I will get back to growing stuff -- flowers, and maybe some veges, too. Have a beautiful day! Tammy

I like the little one tucked in the corner under the roof, it's just too cute:@)

You found some beauties. The second one is my favorite. The 'workhorse' table as you described with it's worn green paint, the galvanized pots, the wood boxes, the shelf with the corbels all set against the white brick wall - just perfect!

I think the old door is perfect...and to think I saw several sitting by the curb last week!

Vee said...

I have wanted one forever. Someday! I like the really functional one best... Was that the second?

BJ,
These are all excellent ideas for potting benches and work stations!I'm looking for a vintage door...but not for this purpose...I have a vision for an indoor coat rack. Good luck hunting...I'm sure you and Mr. Sweet will come up with a terrific idea that will..."Knock our Socks Off"!!!
Fondly,
Pat

I could plant and putter around for hours in any of those great settings.. There's just something about potting areas that makes a calm come over me.

love all the samples you posted.

Happy Sunday

First...since I'm here to see your shadow shot, I'll tell you how much I love that shadowy, shaded area of your yard. Beautiful BJ.

Secondly, I must admit I wouldn't use a ladder...that to me is a bit tacky. But I guess if it's done right and in the right kind of yard, it wouldn't be so bad, just not mine. I think I like that top one...the pink one best. Now you got me thinking of what I can do to make one 'fit' our yard somewhere....something seaworthy...got any suggestions?

My favorite? Oooh, that's a tough question, I really love them all,but I think I love the green table and all those cute boxes and buckets the best. Can you believe we tore out an old sink like the one someone made into a potting bench about 20 years ago when we redid the kitchen? Shoot! If I knew then what I know now, I would have found acute way to use it in the kitchen remodel!

I love the one with the old white sink but to have one with running water like the other sink would be great too! And the one with the door. So many great ideas to choose from!

NanaDiana said...

Bj- They are all just wonderful. I love the blue-green color of that 2nd one and I love the old sink one, too. I do have a potting table/area which I have showed a couple of times but it is nothing like these! xo Diana

no potting station for me. don't pot. don't garden. grasshoppers have eaten my yarrow, my trumpet vines. all i have left is 2 little lantana plants and a patch of moss i'm trying to keep alive!

Patty Patterson said...

They're all really cute, but I think I liked the one with the old door. You could use two doors as backs... even if they're different. I saw a wall in a restaurant last night that was made of doors. Some even had the hardward still attached. It was really cool and had lots of character.

I never saw so many different ways to pot plants. You made a great tour of them. I do not have one. Just sit down in the yard and use my hands.

I would love to have a potting bench with water. If I had everything in one place I would do more "potting." These photos are all great inspiration.
Really enjoyed all your vacation posts. What a wonderful time you must have had being with you beautiful family!

I have been wanting a potting bench for years. I LOVE that blue one..so cute. Glad you enjoyed your vaca. I was coming over and reading your posts. FYI August 1 is the next copy cat challenge. I have a little twist this time too...YOU can copy another blogger:)

I love them all, but that blue door is especially creative! And I finally added one to my garden this summer too!

BJ, I'd love to have a water source at my potting station, but all I have is a work bench in our garage. It's a bit cluttered at the moment, so that's a project on my list. Perhaps this post will inspire me to get busy and spiff it up.
Loved tagging along on your vacation with all your great photos and account of what you did. Looked like lots of fun!

Oh BJ. A drool-worthy post for sure! I love them all, how could I choose a favorite? Okay, if I must, the table in the field with a cupboard off to the right is stunning. And that pink dresser is so sweet!
My hubs made me a potting bench a few years ago using an old window. I don't have the heart to use it for potting. We had it on our patio last year and this year it's on the deck. I use it as a sideboard for pilin' yummy food on when we eat outside. :o)

Here's a link that has a couple pictures of it when it was on the patio: http://rindymae.blogspot.com/2011/07/yard-art.html

And you can get a peek of it in this post from a few days ago: http://rindymae.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-deck.html#

I LOVE it. Especially since the hubs built it especially for me. :o)

Thanks for a great Sunday morning post!

Hi bj ... I sure enjoyed going on vacation with you, Mr. Sweet and your lovely family. Thanks for letting all us bloggers tag along.
Love all the potting benches and I guess since I love enamelware; that would be my favorite and then the one with a big white sink is a favorite too.
Guess I had better get my post on my "potting bench" ready to be posted since you are so encouraging.
Glad you are home.

Now I know what to do with that old door in my basement! Love all of them Bj. Enjoyed this post! Wishing you a fab evening! Hugs

I tried to pick a favorite, but I kept changing my mind. I really do want to make one. I like the one nestled in the little lean to, but my space that I would use will be open so I like that door one, too.

I really do want to do this. In my head, if I build it, the green thumb will come.
