In other turtle news, Lonesome George passed away yesterday. He was a 100 year old giant turtle and left no offspring ~ so he was the last of his species. He was almost 3 feet tall and about 6 ft. Long. They're going to stuff him (:
Oh Yummy! Those turtle treats with the Rolo's sound right up my alley. Turtle soup sounds good too. Turtles are pretty cool to watch!~
You are priceless! How cute!
I'm back and appreciate you checking in on me! Hope to see you at Potpourri Friday!
I have ever eaten anything that had turtle in it. I am not going to start now either. You do a remarkable job taking so many different things and coming up worth such an entertaining post. It is so hot here, I am afraid to get out much. When summer hit, it came in with a force.
Oh- You are so cute! I wouldn't eat turtle soup either and I have had it offered to me when we lived in FL. UGH! We are still in the mts. with limited internet access- xo Diana
I'm like you and could never think of eating turtle soup! However, the chocolate turtles are right up my alley. That's one of my favorite candies.
Hi Bj!
I wouldn't eat turtle soup either, but I did have gator a few times at Razzoo's when we lived in Texas.
I WOULD eat the turtles your GD makes! Yummy.
Thanks for sharing at my party this week :)

bj how cool that you came across that turtle. I agree, I don't know if I could bring myself up to eating turtle soup but those rolo turtles your grandaughter is making sure look scrumptious!

I'm with you, could't eat a bite of that soup... the turtle candies are a different story! We have a resident turtle on Granny Mountain, she lives under my hosta plants!
Oh I'm glad that you got to the best turtles. I'm sure that I could eat 600 of THOSE, too. Yes, it's a turtle kind of day here all right.
Sweet posting. Love the Chocolate Rolo turtle recipe... have to try sometimes... Turtle soup?! I am with you... how could anyone eat a turtle?? gosh.. it's like hunting down Bambi for lunch!... LOL a bit... My father was a hunter in the winters with his brothers, when I was little... Guess who had a lot of fights with her dad? How could he be so mean and hunt down Bambi?! I refused to eat on the nights I knew what was being served on the plate! ..No offense to hunters and trappers out there.... that is just me!
Thanks again for the recipe.

I'm with you: I'd rather look at the turtles than eat them!
Locked Red Door
Turtles are sooooo coooool! Love it that you are seeing them, laying their eggs even.
Nope, none of that guy's Turtle Soup for me. Euuuuuuuuuuuuuu...
Oh are you going to go look at night, when you think the turtles will hatch and the wee little babies will make a run for the water? :-)
Going back to the tale of the tortoise and the hare, I always think of the turtle as the underdog. So, I am always pulling for the turtle.
I've made the Rolo turtles, and "O Honey" is so right. Delish.
Love the turtle sweets, BJ. Looks real good....Christine
We got to see several turtles laying their eggs on the side of the road while on vacation in Wisconsin. Sure wish we could have stayed up there to see them hatch! And I'm with you on that turtle soup. Could not eat that stuff if it was the last thing left on Earth to eat!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
I saw a turtle/tortoise laying her eggs a couple of weeks ago. Bless her heart, she was right by a bike path! I hope the eggs hatch all right.
I would like to schedule a turtle day in advance, maybe for tomorrow =)
Look forward to seeing you at Pin the Tail on the Bloggy!!
Have a wonderful day.
Hmmm,I'm with you BJ, turtle soup just isn't my cup of tea...but I would eat those chocolate turtles for sure!
