G'mornin', Sunshine

A sight like THIS is very delightful on my breakfast table...
......extra bright and cheery for the dead of winter, I'd say.
Super market flowers can bring sunshine into your day in a twinkle of an eye.....
...they were just marching across the breakfast table like a little
musical band...
♫♪♪..walking in the sunshine....sing a little sunshine song....♪♫♫
ROGER MILLER....1967

On this fine morning, breakfast is
CHEESY EGG AND BACON
FOLD OVER BURRITO ...

It never fails that I get mine waaaay too full to be able to roll it.

Half the time, a lot of goodness falls into my plate so I always have to have a FORK....:)

Love love love having a little fresh fruit with meals....

We live only a few blocks from Rosa's Tortilla Factory so we can run get warm, fresh out of the cooker flour tortillas. Sometimes, we get a  half dozen, with honey and butter and just PIG OUT.
O, we bad !!

ON THIS MORNING, we had scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, green onion tops, extra sharp cheddar cheese and really fresh flour tortilla.

I LOVE Louisiana Hot Sauce on just about any and every thing.

We both like POTATOES in our breakfast burrito.....and chopped Anaheim peppers really takes it over the top.

Mr. Sweet sometimes likes sausage in his...
meeee, too.  Do you put anything extra special in YOUR burritos ? Tell me about it.

All these little tiny flowers......from one larger bunch.

As they begin to lose leaves and such, I like breaking them up into smaller bunches.

....gives me another way to show off my little collection of tiny ironstone pitchers.

You know, I used to find
these little cute white
pitchers a lot....all of a
sudden, tho, it seems
like they have vanished off the face of the earth.

Having my favorite coffee, DUNKIN DONUTS, always makes me smile and sigh....
...just seems I can face the day on a little happier note, having a good meal
and COFFEE in the morningtime.
I know a lot of you don't have time in the mornings for a breakfast that you love.....
getting kids off to school and you off to work doesn't leave much time.
Hope you get to enjoy a delicious, just-what-you-want kind of breakfast
on your weekend mornings......♥♥♥
MAKE it a New Year's resolution to enjoy at least one thing each morning
for breakfast...
a great yogurt...
a bakery doughnut
anything that you just love....it's such a great way to start your day.
And, you SO deserve it.
Some people don't like to use their dishes that are special...
like this little blue and white berry bowl from England.
Afraid they might break it, I guess....
I figure I'd rather break it than never use it.
Mom taught me as a child to USE and ENJOY the things you have...
otherwise, they just sit and gather dust and bring no one happiness.
Erma Bombeck urged us to use our special things...to take the time to DO our special things....she learned this after being told she didn't have long to live.
She wrote some really great things.....

Just a part of from
IF I HAD TO LIVE MY LIFE OVER
                          Erma Bombeck
“… I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. …
I would have sat on the lawn with my kids, even if it meant grass stains.”
* * * * *
 But....
ONE of my favorites by her....♥♥
"I haven't trusted polls since I read that 62% of women had affairs during their lunch hour. I've never met a woman in my life who would give up lunch for sex."
Haaaahahahaaahahhaaa...don't you just LOVE that !!

                                             YA'LL........have a SASSY DAY.

Those bright yellow flowers look so pretty on your table. I've never had a breakfast burrito like that. That looks good. I guess we tend to eat our eggs and bacon with biscuits or toast, but the flour tortilla looks like a nice alternative! I want to make a breakfast casserole some time. I'm on the lookout for a good recipe. I also agree with you about using your good dishes etc. any day.

Your posts are just the best! I so look forward to popping in. Yes, I love a good breakfast on the weekend when hubs is home, but I never seem to come up with anything of the variety that you do! It always looks SO good! But I do share Dunkin Donuts coffee with you, I like the French Vanilla!

I love the little pitchers and they are great for breaking the flowers apart in. You and I need to start a quest for some PRETTY cans!!

Oh pretty. You always set such a beautiful table. .and what yummies you come up with. You certainly inspire. Oh, not to forget I love Erma Bombeck, what great down to earth wisdom she always shared. Sad she is gone. Enjoy your breakfasts, while I scurry off to whatever it is with a piece of toast in hand. Hugs, Karie

Love your pretty little pitchers with the flowers! I always think the house looks a little bare after the glitz of Christmas-time. I may just have to look for some flowers to brighten things up!

BJ, you never fail to start my day with a smile & a giggle!

Your breakfast looks so yummy...I have eaten warm, freshly made tortillas only ONCE in my entire life! It was while visiting baby sis in AZ, & she drove us right to the back door of the Mexican lady's store. We ate some right there in the car, just for the experience!

I'm still limping along & S-L-O-W-L-Y putting away Christmas stuff, but at least my fingers are fine now, so I can visit.

Hugs,
Rett

Hi BJ!
I'm with you! I love me a purty dish!! I use them all the time. I mean why have them if you aren't going to love and enjoy them?! Seriously!?

Ms. Bombeck actually lived in Phoenix for many years... When I was a kid I got to meet her. I just remember her being very tall. Of course, now I appreciate her humor so much more. :)

Happy New Year!

my mother died in 1995 2 weeks after her 60th birthday from breast cancer. she was way to young. everytime i have broken or somebody else has broken something she gave me because i was using it, i would get upset. my husband has always stepped in to say, "honey, what good is it sitting on a shelf? think of all of the enjoyment you have had from useing it. you still have the memories." we use depression glass for everyday. and milk glass too. maybe my children won't get as much when leave this earth, but our grandchildren will remember eating strawberries for breakfast out of the pretty pink bowls. i love yellow daisies. they are like sunshine in the winter.

Hey, send some of that sunshine over here!
I gave dh 4 lbs of Dunkin for Cmas. Aren't I good?

One of the things I love after working for 33 years is enjoying my morning coffee and the paper. It's the best! When you work, there's no time for it!

Some sunny yellow flowers seem just the thing to brighten the dark days ahead. So pretty! Your mom was so right, what good ar beautiful things packed away so they don't get broken? Isn't the joy of owning them the fact that we can use something beautiful?

BJ,
The flowers are wonderful...and my favorite color!
Breakfast is always so good at your house! A good breakfast is a simple pleasure and great way to start the day.
I've been thinking how you had your Christmas decorations packed away before New Years. What a great feeling to have that accomplished!
We are scheduled to take down the Christmas decor this coming weekend...
Happy New Year!

That settles it...a tortilla factory near you? I'm moving in! My breakfast tends to be Greek Yogurt or cereal, but on New Years Day I made gingerbread pancakes with sausage and bacon. My dad was still here and he likes to eat!

What a gorgeous breakfast table! I'm hungry now! My mom also encourages me to use my pretty things. My hubby gets a little outdone when the grandkids break something, but I tell him memories of Mimi letting them use the good stuff is better than most of my good stuff any way! I'm a new follower.
