Clean up time....

Little trees and candles and napkins....

Santas, pillows, wreaths....

My house is already beginning to look BARE...
no pretty wreaths loaded with red...
only the GREEN APPLE one I made. I am keeping it out just awhile longer.

All the Christmas decorations around our homes tend to make our room cozy and comfy and full of warmth.
I have to be careful and remember to add color back...in the form of pretty, warm throws....and pillows.....and maybe a vase of
super market FRESH FLOWERS.
.....some I leave out all year.

...more dishes....

I am keeping these out to fill with good things to eat at my birthday party. Nuts and dips and creamy things.....ummmmm

Someone left this amazing CRANBERRY SCONE mix, complete with a pkg of dried Cranberries,  in my stocking...
so, in the middle of CLEAN UP, mid morning,...when we got hungry, I made them.

The mix, thick whipping cream
and a few fresh Cranberries thrown in for good measure

The most amazing part, ya just mix, then pat out a 6" circle on a
greased piece of foil on a cookie sheet...
Then, cut into 8 wedges....
Once they cool, you can lift them onto a plate....

To consider something a RECIPE doesn't mean that you can't start with a MIX, add your own things to it.
Why, SANDRA LEE of SEMI HOMEMADE has made a fortune with her special semi homemade recipes.
So, NEVAH feel like you aren't "baking" because you didn't do it from scratch.  Sister friend, some of the best tasting foods I've ever had were SEMI HOMEMADE...and I love it.
                          ♥ ♥ ♥
Now THIS is not a TEA CUP....
No siree, Bob.....
It is a TEA MUG... and I am lovin' it to pieces.
It holds a comforting amount of TEA
or COFFEE, which is what I am having this morning.

OK....I am about to let you in on a little BREAKFAST SECRET....

CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY SCONES go best with a cute cup of
TEA or COFFEE....
AND........

...there's not much better way to start your day than adding
a few scoops of COFFEE  ICE CREAM to that plate with the warm scone.
O HONEY
Yes, ma'am....it's a heck of a good way to start ANY day around Sweet Nothings
I hope you have all your Christmas put away for another year and
everything cleaned up and sparkly....so you can enjoy the time between now and
NEW YEAR'S EVE, so you will be rested up to ......PAR...TAY.
HAHAAAAA...we do have a party but it's a good, laid-back kind of thing.
I'm ready !

What a fun post!! Made me hungry for some scones!

Glad you got your clean up done. I am simply too tired to start. Next week I will get with it!!

I am thinking and planning on how I am packing it all away this year. Hopefully it will be easier to UNpack NEXT year!

Happy New Year and an early Happy BIRTHday to you!!

Scones look delicious. My stuff is still up. I traditionally don't take anything down until after the 12th day of Christmas otherwise known as Epiphany on Jan 6th. In fact most years our church does an Epiphany Pageant now instead of a Christmas Pageant. Great fun!

I completely forgot about Sandra Lee! No wonder I like her!! As you know all too well, I am a semi homemade gal myself. Those scones looked yummy! I put away all of my Christams decor inside, but am waiting for the weather to warm up to put away the outside. I can't stand feeling cold!

To me the only thing better than decorating for Christmas is the clean house after undecorating and storing everything away. Nothing motivates me quite like it!

May you and your family be richly blessed in 2012, BJ!

BJ, Your scones look fabulous! I must head to Target to pick some up. I haven't put my treasures away yet; we have company coming tomorrow so will keep the house festive and pick up over the weekend. Regarding Christmas cards, I pray over each person as I look through them one last time, then donate them to be used in a program that evaluates eyesight in children - of course, the photos stay!
Happy New Year, my friend!

BJ,
Oh, my those scones look delicious!!! while you're having a party...I'll be taking down the Christmas decorations for this year! I have ample decor items packed away to put in those vacated places...perhaps if I had one of your scones. . .I'd have the energy to get it done. Ha!
Enjoy your party, dear friend!
Fondly,
Pat

Oh no! Nothing gets put away till the Epiphany. It would make me sad to put it away so quickly! It must be a southern thing!:).
Here, the lights stay lit and people still celebrate till the New Year. And then, little Christmas when the Kings arrive, we start packing it away.
Your scones look delicious, and ice cream in the morning, you devil you! :)
