Little trees and candles and napkins....
Santas, pillows, wreaths....
My house is already beginning to look BARE...
no pretty wreaths loaded with red...
only the GREEN APPLE one I made. I am keeping it out just awhile longer.
All the Christmas decorations around our homes tend to make our room cozy and comfy and full of warmth.
I have to be careful and remember to add color back...in the form of pretty, warm throws....and pillows.....and maybe a vase of
super market FRESH FLOWERS. ♥
.....some I leave out all year.
...more dishes....
I am keeping these out to fill with good things to eat at my birthday party. Nuts and dips and creamy things.....ummmmm
Someone left this amazing CRANBERRY SCONE mix, complete with a pkg of dried Cranberries, in my stocking...
so, in the middle of CLEAN UP, mid morning,...when we got hungry, I made them.
The mix, thick whipping cream
and a few fresh Cranberries thrown in for good measure
The most amazing part, ya just mix, then pat out a 6" circle on a
greased piece of foil on a cookie sheet...
Then, cut into 8 wedges....
Once they cool, you can lift them onto a plate....
Why, SANDRA LEE of SEMI HOMEMADE has made a fortune with her special semi homemade recipes.
So, NEVAH feel like you aren't "baking" because you didn't do it from scratch. Sister friend, some of the best tasting foods I've ever had were SEMI HOMEMADE...and I love it.
♥ ♥ ♥
Now THIS is not a TEA CUP....
No siree, Bob.....
It is a TEA MUG... and I am lovin' it to pieces.
It holds a comforting amount of TEA
or COFFEE, which is what I am having this morning.
OK....I am about to let you in on a little BREAKFAST SECRET....♥
CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY SCONES go best with a cute cup of
TEA or COFFEE....
TEA or COFFEE....
AND........
...there's not much better way to start your day than adding
...there's not much better way to start your day than adding
a few scoops of COFFEE ICE CREAM to that plate with the warm scone.
O HONEY
Yes, ma'am....it's a heck of a good way to start ANY day around Sweet Nothings ♥
I hope you have all your Christmas put away for another year and
everything cleaned up and sparkly....so you can enjoy the time between now and
NEW YEAR'S EVE, so you will be rested up to ......PAR...TAY.
HAHAAAAA...we do have a party but it's a good, laid-back kind of thing.
I'm ready !

did I ever remember to tell you I baked your biscuit recipe and for the first time ever , they were NOT hockey pucs~! I was tickled pink with them..
you really know how to do things up right, yum yum! Have a Happy New Year!!
Sure is great to pack up Christmas and start with a clean slate. Love your little diversion there, they look yum!

This was great! I too am busy putting away all my treasures till next year and have also bought a few items at the clearance sales. I am already anticipating seeing them next year. Happy New Year! Kit
Those look yummy! I still have a few days before the annual diet starts. I'm running out to the store to try to make these before the first of the year!
Looking forward to following your blog!
Cheers to 2012!

What a fun post!! Made me hungry for some scones!
Glad you got your clean up done. I am simply too tired to start. Next week I will get with it!!
I am thinking and planning on how I am packing it all away this year. Hopefully it will be easier to UNpack NEXT year!
Happy New Year and an early Happy BIRTHday to you!!
Those look absolutely delicious! I don't think I would have been able to wait either.
Oh my, it's not clean up time yet! There is still time to enjoy the wonderful season of Christmas.

Scones look delicious. My stuff is still up. I traditionally don't take anything down until after the 12th day of Christmas otherwise known as Epiphany on Jan 6th. In fact most years our church does an Epiphany Pageant now instead of a Christmas Pageant. Great fun!

Your cleanup sounded so nice with the scones and tea. And I love, love, love your tea mug. So cute. Happy New Year!!
That is my idea of a cleanup, having tea and scones. Wonderful. Happy New Year to you and Mr. Sweet. xo
I have put mine away too, except for the tree, can't let go of that yet! Love what you did with the scones, yum. We got a box of Lion House cranberry muffins, had them tonight with soup, so good! Happy New Year my sweet friend..God less you real good this year! :D
I just can't put it all away yet, I usually wait till after New Year's Eve. Wish I had a scone for my midnight---oops how about 1:00 snack.

You are my kind of gal-ice cream for breakfast-yum! I haven't started putting any decorations away-in fact they may be up at Easter-just can't get motivated!
Yummy morning to you dear BJ! I am leaving my Christmas up until my weekend guests come and go:) So, it is still Christmas around here! I have some mixes that I will be starting with today and tomorrow, adding nuts etc to make them my own recipe, yums! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
I have all my Christmas put up for another year(all the inside). Still have lights to take down on the outside but I am waiting for my daughter and grandson to help with those. Your scones look so good. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Glad that you turned your chore into a happy thing. Coffee ice cream in the morning? Get out! What a great idea!
I completely forgot about Sandra Lee! No wonder I like her!! As you know all too well, I am a semi homemade gal myself. Those scones looked yummy! I put away all of my Christams decor inside, but am waiting for the weather to warm up to put away the outside. I can't stand feeling cold!
To me the only thing better than decorating for Christmas is the clean house after undecorating and storing everything away. Nothing motivates me quite like it!
May you and your family be richly blessed in 2012, BJ!
Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!! NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!! And "BJ's" BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!! :-)
I had just remembered that, all by myself. Honest I did!!!!!! :-)
So let me be the FIRST one to Wish You A Happy Birthday Wish! (?Yes, I am so silly.... Wanting to be *First*!) -grin-

I haven't started packing away Christmas yet, always seems so bare when it's gone. You have inspired me to get started! The scones looks delicious! YUM!
Happy 2012!

Would love you to join us on creative Thursday (which is ing this week to creative mondays ?http://clairejustineoxox.blogspot.com/2011/12/creative-thursday_21.html
BJ, Your scones look fabulous! I must head to Target to pick some up. I haven't put my treasures away yet; we have company coming tomorrow so will keep the house festive and pick up over the weekend. Regarding Christmas cards, I pray over each person as I look through them one last time, then donate them to be used in a program that evaluates eyesight in children - of course, the photos stay!
Happy New Year, my friend!
Beth
Yummy...wow that looks so great...I have to go bake something now i can almost smell it through the computer...happy New Year my friend...thanks for your blog
I can't wait to get over this cold so I can pack things up! I bet the house is looking so fresh:>) Happy New Year dear friend!
Awww! You're already putting all those lovely decorations away, BJ? That's the part of Christmas that makes me a little sad. Everything looks so bare when the decorations are all put away.

I hope you have a blessed New Year, sweet BJ!

When I start my diet I'm gonna have to quit visiting here - you make everything look so yummy and I am so weak!!
*kidding of course, I can't stay away!
OHHHH...MYYYYY...That looks good! You are ahead of me. I have to leave things up until after the New Year's Eve sleepover with the littl girls- xo Diana
Hi BJ....just stopping in to wish you a very Happy New Year.....I just noticed the picture on your side bar of your friend and you since 2nd. grade....all I can say is that is awesome.......Hugs, Sue
Christmas will stay up here until after the Three Kings arrive on Jan 6th - then it will be time for the big clean up!
Those scones look wonderful!
Birthday?.....when please!
BJ,
Oh, my those scones look delicious!!! while you're having a party...I'll be taking down the Christmas decorations for this year! I have ample decor items packed away to put in those vacated places...perhaps if I had one of your scones. . .I'd have the energy to get it done. Ha!
Enjoy your party, dear friend!
Fondly,
Pat
Oh no! Nothing gets put away till the Epiphany. It would make me sad to put it away so quickly! It must be a southern thing!:).
Here, the lights stay lit and people still celebrate till the New Year. And then, little Christmas when the Kings arrive, we start packing it away.
Your scones look delicious, and ice cream in the morning, you devil you! :)
Oh my goodness, I'm with you on the clean up!
That looks so delish!
Now where can I get a tea mug? That looks like a must have for my wish list, giggle.
Thank you for linking to the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop at Katherines corner xo
Fun blog, love your TEA mug and attitude, but no ma'am....I do not clean up and put Christmas away until the 12th Day Of Christmas, my BDay, which is January 6!! lol~

All my decorations are still up, I just love them but will be putting them away next week. Those cranberry scones will be a good thing to have while I am wrapping each ornament so carefully.
