Red and White can KNOCK YOUR SOX OFF

OOPS...I let OCTOBER almost get by me before I could do my monthly
KNOCK MY SOX OFF
fun post.
Ever since I've posted my RED AND WHITE POLKA DOT dishes,
I've had a lot of emails asking where I got them.
I THINK I got this little cutie bowl at WALMART a few years back...

The site I ordered these plates from no longer offers them.....??

The RED is very versatile.....and now that we KNOW it's OK to combine designs and colors...I've had a lot of fun with my red and white polka dots.
Not only is it OK now to use dots and checks together...
IT'S AWESOME....
When I was a young thing..we didn't put checks and stripes together...nor red and pink...nor black and brown...
What WERE we thinking ...
Yep...the company I ordered my dishes from aren't carrying them any longer...
HOWEVER....
...take a look at THESE.

STRIPES and PLAIDS AND DOTS....OH MY
 ♥
Now that I am looking at the above plates, I'm not SURE they come from this company....
I'll check that, tho.
SOOO, if you have some serious RED AND WHITE POLKA DOT (or plaids) LUV..
These are all at
THROUGH THE COUNTRY DOOR
and very reasonably priced, I think.

Yep....RED AND  WHITE pretty much just
KNOCKS MY SOX OFF.....
how 'bout you ?
XOXOXO

I love red and white dishes too. I have a red and white striped bowl that I bought on ebay last year that I really love. It's so cottagey. It's classic. Those dishes would be cute used at Christmas time.

Those are just darling dishes, Bj! You're right- we were classic all the way, weren't we? No mixing patterns in those days...only if you were too poor to afford a "matched set". I'm glad things have changed! xo Diana

There is nothing that makes my heart go pitter patter than red and white in a kitchen!

By golly BJ, if I were wearing socks, they would be knocked off too. I guess I'll have to say that those red dishes are so cute they peeled my polish.

Your dishes are very cute. How well I remember that you did not wear red and pink or brown and black. Your photos are great. Enjoyed this post. Have a blessed evening. Madeline

It's fun to see what you'll have on the table next either with food or dishes. I have been looking for some cute black and white and red and white ones myself, but they'll have to be cheap. Say, I was thrilled today when Nate Berkus said that picture frames no longer have to match. I've pretty much had that philosphy all along, but am glad to be considered "intentional."

Checks, polka dots, stripes, plaids: if they are red and white they work for me! Great mix.

I noticed what you said about vintage being over 7 years. Wow, most everything I own is vintage. And I thought most of it was just old and out of date.

Thank you for participating in Potpourri Friday. Many thanks!

I love red and white, and have a dash of red in every room in the house. Sometimes you have to search for it, but it's there!

Oh Honey, you know we both have that red polka-dot obsession! These are just wonderful!

Thanks for telling up about them AND thanks, too, for telling us about that Grandpa's cinnamon bread from Wal-mart. I FINALLY found it yesterday & had it this morning, toasted with just a titch of real butter. Yummo!!

I may try to make French toast with it for DH.

Hugs,
Rett

bj, I do love those red and white with polka dots. They do look so cute mixed with the plaid. I have sold red and a madras check I use. I break all the old school rules today, who made those rules?
Have a great weekend.

I've always loved red...I wear it when I can find it, and of course I also love black and white. I can remember my grandmother having lots of polka dot things (mostly housedresses). For the longest time, I didn't like polka dots, they seemed way too old-fashioned for me. Now, I can't get enough of them! Funny how we change over time (in lots of ways)!

I have my red baking dish with the white polka dots...but that's it.
How cute those dishes are. So far I have not run into any polka dot dishes so this is so nice of you to send us links where we might find them.

Love the red and white and th epolka dots - it can hint at vintage and yet also go more modern. I need more polka dots in my life...and red!
