ENGLISH COUNTRY KITCHENS...again

It seems I have an OBSESSION .....
ENGLISH COUNTRY KITCHENS
I LOVE this one..
and I am sure I've posted it more than once..
If I didn't live in dusty....sandy...wind-blowing country,
I would have ALL my cabinet doors off..
I just LOVE this look.
I can barely see her little curtain, probably beneath her sink..
I think I may make one for MY kitchen this winter..
for a change...and if I don't like it..
I can put my doors back on...
Have you ever thought about adding a little curtain down there, beneath your sink ?
Altho I am not fond of natural wood colors,
I do love this kitchen.
It seems to have a lot of substance to it..
I think it's because the one NATURAL cabinet has  been made to look like a piece of furniture..
a hutch, if you will.
I sure like that idea.....a lot.
I just don't have the space to add this.

I love all the architecture in this
English kitchen.

I truly think one could COOK better were she in an ENGLISH KITCHEN....don't you?

While doing this post, I realized I'd not done a tea post in awhile, therefore
missing all my
TEA DRINKING BUDS !

So, out came my pretty tea cup from MARY...Little Red House

I've really enjoyed this cup, Mary.
thanks again.

I have APPLE FRITTER BREAD slices..
and THIS recipe is MEGA easy..!!!
You just get in your car, go to your favorite market
and HOPE LIKE HECK they have it.

it is absolutely DELICIOUS.!!

Cold, it is awesome...
Toasted, with butter,
IT WILL BRING YOU TO YOUR KNEES...
and
MAKE YOU HOLLER " UNCLE"

One of my favorite ways to serve it is with a great
EXTRA SHARP CHEDDAR CHEESE.
O HONEY

♫♪
I have a BRAND NEW English Cheese Dish
and
I wish YOU had one, too, 'cause it is so cute.

How much better TEA would taste,
sitting at this lovely table,
in this cozy kitchen,
in front of that wonderful fireplace, come wintertime..
in this lovely  ENGLISH KITCHEN
from the movie, THE HOLIDAY.
I am joining these lovely ladies for:
 MOSAIC MONDAY
SHOW OFF YOUR COTTAGE MONDAY
THRIFTY TREASURES
TEA TIME WITH LADY KATHERINE
TABLETOP TUESDAY
TEA FOR TWO
2ND TIME AROUND TUES.

I added a fabric curtain in front of an open corner cabinet in my kitchen and do truly like it! I used tension rods and gathered top and bottom. I like the under sink ones even better because you only need the top rod. Not an expensive project to play with-have fun:@)

Love all of your inspirations...the black and white floor, the curtains under the sink...but I love your cheese dish most of all!

BJ, I am addicted to English country kitchens, too! Your tea goodies sound yummy for the tummy. I would love to come over for tea in your brand new English kitchen! Wouldn't that be fun?!?!?!?

You always make me hungry! I love all of the beautiful kitchens! But I don't cook near as much as I used to! ♥

Beauty all around! I love the curtain under the sink idea:) When I was growing up, we had curtains over the closets instead of doors and YEP curtains over the bathroom cabinet! Ahhhhh sweet memories! The apple fritters sound yummilicious! Enjoy your evening, HUGS!

Oh gosh, BJ, as soon as I saw the last kitchen with the fireplace and pale blue cabinets, I so bad want it. It says 'love, 'grandma', 'welcome', 'warmth', 'caring', 'warm apple pie', and on and on. Now I've been kicking just that idea around about a curtain under my sink for a few months now. I've decided to give it a try, but I haven't decided on the color or pattern of fabric. I sure hope your temperatures have come down now.

I love that kitchen also. It is definitely gorgeous. Your new cheese platter and dome is totally unreal. Where in the world did you find that. I NEED, NEED, NEED one. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

BJ, you gals in the States can get the neatest stuff at your grocery store - I love shopping for food there.
I'll join you for tea, because I'm dying to try that bread and I am envious of your English cheese dish.
It was fun looking at dreamy kitchens with you.

What great kitchens, BJ. I do think one cooks better in a lovely kitchen. I don't know about you but I remember scraping together meals as a newly married and just making something/anything and not really enjoying the cooking all that much- and my kitchen was so very basic..and I had barely enough to cook in/with.

That bread looks wonderful...gotta be a SUTHREN' thing cuz I've never seen it here! xo Diana

I haven't seen that bread in my store but I'll be on the look out for it. Those photos were just beautiful to dream over.

Apple fritter bread...what a concept. Hope that I never find it because it's bringing me to my knees already and I haven't had a bite.

What beautiful kitchens you've shared. What is it about them that screams cozy and charming? It's more than the curtain beneath the sink. I think it's the stoves.

Our kitchen is a galley kitchen, and it is rather nice, but not a big English country kitchen. Wonderful images to dream about, BJ. Love the new cheese keeper. Where did you find this lovely piece?
Have a great Labor Day! ~ sarah

I love an English kitchen! They are so homey...a room I could live in!

I have a curtain that I made (out of a tablecloth from the clearance rack) for under my sink, I just keep forgetting to buy a tension rod every time I go to WalMart.

Please tell us where you found your beautiful black & white domed cheese dish? I ♥♥♥ it & all those romantic kitchens, too! I could do so much more with mine, if I were more creative.

Wow, I wish I had that cheese dish too! I always love posts where you show your favorite room BJ, because we have such similar taste that I always love them too!

That looks tottaly yum! And I am swooning along with those kitchens. Of course the one from the Holiday is great and I just love being able to study it more closely. Yes with the summer wind here in Cape Town open kitchen shelves are not the best idea but I do love them.

I love the last image, with the fireplace in the kitchen - that's for me!
Curtains under the sink? Hmmm that would mean that the dog could get into the garbage, so I'll be leaving the doors on.

BJ,
I don't know if I'd cook better in an English Kitchen like those in your photos...but I'd cook more often! My little galley kitchen isn't big enough to cook like I'd like to be able to ...but it came with the house...so I'll have to make do! Lovely post! One can truly dream, can't they?
Fondly,

Okay, you've made it next to impossible to ever enter my kitchen again! At 67 ( Oct 3 ), having lost my 21 year nursing position in massive budget cuts nearly three years ago, I am having to downsize drastically from the house I've rented for 13 years - moving to a one bedroom in-law, I think, depending on how I can stretch my meager pension and social security. Yikes, I'll be lucky to have a cup of tea. At any rate, I'm off to India for six months, staying with friends and using the last of my frequent flyer miles. Like Scarlett, I'll think about it all TOMORROW!

Me again. I had to tell you that last night I dreamt I visited you at your home. You gave me a fantastic tour and told me the next day we would go shopping together. I am not kidding...you also said I could take all the pics of your house I wanted, but I couldn't put them on my blog...which I totally understood. You had a HUGE china cabinet filled with brownware...I can't remember if you even have any of that...anyways...had to tell you and then today at Walmart...the angels sang and I found that yummy bread.

Oh what beautiful kitchens! I have always loved the casual feeling of painted cabinets and open shelving and pretty fabrics... :)

We keep seeing horrible pictures from the Texas wildfires, BJ. I trust you are well, and not a part of this terrible plight. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lone Star state today.
