Can I do it ?

I've been seeing some of the cutest stools
covered in grain sacks..
sugar sacks..
and I WANT ONE, TOO....

Aren't these adorable !
They all came from ANGIE'S PINS
Thanks, Angie, for all the inspiration...
Oh, yes...I am wanting one of these cute stools..
but I don't have
a grain sack
or a sugar sack
or an Oooh LALA sack..
but I DO have...
a really pretty COFFEE SACK.
Of course,
the next thing I need is
well.....a stool.
hEY...
Close the front door !..I DO have a stool
way to the back of a closet....

and it's not JUST a stool...
it's an AWESOME stool..

MR. SWEET made this for me many years ago..
He got the pattern out of a magazine and I think it is a great stool..

So great that I am linking with
WHITE WEDNESDAY to show it off. :)

Now, the shape of this top is making me nervous thinking
about covering it....
REAL nervous..
I've wanted to cover it for years..
looked and looked for a fabric that I really loved.
Just never found it...until now.
Also...as I say..it looks like it is gonna be a job with all those little points...
maybe more talent needed than I can muster.
I think it sure would be cute...
sitting in front of my wood-burning Franklin fireplace...
BUT.....
can i do it ?

You can do it BJ. Don't worry about those points, if it were me, I would go ahead and just get a round piece of foam, cover it and ignore the points. If all else fails you can do that:>)

Vee said...

Of course you can. That stool has a wonderful pattern.

Vee said...

When you pull the fabric over the round foam, I think the points are going to show a bit and that'll be perfect.

Well, let me ask you this- Did you DRINK all that wine in those bottles before you started? Cuz..I think it will be really hard working those points if you did imbibe!

I can't wait to see it done and I think the coffee sack is just a grand idea~ xo Diana

YES YOU CAN!!! I covered a couple of stools last year with coffee sacks. Here is a link:

http://lavenderhillstudio.blogspot.com/2010/08/burlap-bench-and-foot-stool.html

My suggestion is to use foam on the seat top and then cover with batting around the foam and over the sharp corners before you add the burlap.

It will be great BJ!

Of course you can! I am so anxious to see what kind of creative pattern you will come up with.
