I am still really enjoying this GREAT book ...
well....POTTERY BARN.
I saw that photo on the left and just had to put
MY faux flowers on my vintage, handmade little chair.
I know...I am waaay too old to PLAY but......
Now, I would just love to find an olden farm table such as this...
One reason THIS one is so cute is...
it's paired with cute, mismatched chairs
AND
it's all about......OUTSIDE.
This book is filled with the BEST ideas..
OMYGOSH...
...and when I saw THEIR narrow entry, I had to pair it with MY entry on the right.
...I love that we both used long benches....that's what you do in such a narrow space, I think.
A couple months ago, I made these amazing POP OVERS..
and I froze quite a few...
They are just as good after thawing and warming as they
were when I made them.
Popovers are mostly EGG and so light, they almost float off the plate.
THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA'S recipe HERE
I PROMISE they are simple simple simple to make...
and I am pretty sure you will love them...
especially if you have a cute RED and WHITE checked tablecloth to serve them on! :))
THANKS, JEANNE...
We eat almost ALL our meals in this delightful place..
just in front of the wall of bookshelves...
and sit just right to watch a favorite program on tv while we eat.
...sometimes, we just eat and talk...
sometimes we just EAT. :))
SWEET NOTHINGS COTTAGE sure isn't new...
nor fancy in ANY way...
but it is so comfortable and I love our home.
It just.........fits
There's so many great photos...
I hope YOU can get this book, if you like the
ROMANTIC PRAIRIE STYLE.
I always want to *copy* things from blogs and books and....well....POTTERY BARN.

Thanks for the prayers! We need them here in Alabama! I love getting ideas from books and magazines, and you are never too old to play! Did you like the French Inspired Home, too? I really like that one. i have not seen Fifi's book yet, but it is on my to be read list for sure.
(((hugs))),

Your home is very cozy and inviting BJ! And nope, we're never too old to play, that's what keeps everyone young:@)
Hi BJness! Oh, I need to get that book! You copy cat very well and don't you ever get to old to play! I know I'm gonna play as long as God allows me to! :) I love seeing your home and your always have everything just perfectly cozy and you always feed me! I just love that part! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
We've got a narrow hall and, you're right, the bench is such a great look. We have a radiator cover in ours, which I also really like. I guess narrow hallways need something to break up the space a bit.

BJ, first off, congratulations on winning the $100 gift card at Cuisine Kathleen. Have a great shopping trip!
I've never made popovers, but these sure do look good. Easy, you say? I'll have to try them.
Sweet post as always! ~ Sarah
Enjoyed this post very much. Love the little colander. Your home is so pretty and your popovers look so good. Have a blessed evening and thank you for your prayers for Our State of Alabama. Madeline
And I love your home as well. Your home should be in a magazine.
I am going to have to find that book as well. Love that style.
I'd ride a bike if I could. I could just see me rounding the curves and the hills. I do have a Huffy grandma bike, like the ones that are popular now. Just no safe place to ride it. I think Mr. Sweet would look styling on a bike. I would love to live somewhere where all you had to do is walk. Sounds like fun.
Have a great week.
I like your pictures better than theirs. You copy real good.
I love your home too and appreciate that you are such a gracious hostess.
they can keep all the towers and cathedrals in France and anywhere else.. I'd rather see your country setting anytime.. You just have SOUL and that cant be bought in a store or out of a catalog...

I always love the photos from your home, especially your reds. I want my home to be as inviting as yours.
And I make popovers, but I never knew you could freez them.
(Probably because none ever last long enough to freeze!)
Yuumy, BJ. Love your country reds!
Besos,
Lolita
Same here, I love to get ideas from books and magazines! I'm keep trying to win a copy, but haven't yet! I'm going to have to get a copy!
I want to come and sit at the table with you and eat the popovers. I love your black and white checked teapot!! And how very cool the way you have shown pages of the book next to your very similar things!! You are right, the popover recipe is easy and I have just printed it, thanks!
Love the country reds and I love popovers! I wrote down the recipe, and I will make them! Thank you for sharing this on Masterpiece Monday. Have a great week, Mary :O)
Lovely photos - red is one of my most fav colors! my kitchen is BATHED in it!
I have to get that book too. I love your red and white table. I have a tablecloth just like that but how do you keep it from getting stained. When my kids were home I used to put a piece of clear plastic on top to protect it or I'd be washing it every day. I really do love to have a tablecloth on the table. Is the table in the living room? Love everything!!!
I would love to visit your lovely, cozy home BJ. Wow those pop-overs look out of this world. HH would never eat one, he is too stubborn to try anything different and I tempted to eat beyond my 1500 cal meal plan. But you said they freeze well, so I might have at it. Thanks for stopping by lovely lady.

Your Country Reds enthrall and amaze, but the little green colander, now that is a treasure! I make popovers every other Sunday and Yorkshire Pudding on the off Sunday. They are very similar but for the beef fat in the Yorkshire...love all your pretty doodads!
hugs
Sandi
You won my give a way darlin'!!
email me your home address!! Hugs!!
You do have a lovely home. As always you show us your talent in decor and photography. Have never made Pop Overs, nowI am tempted. to try and I have to get that book. Thank you again for sharing your little corner of Paradise.
Rita
I THINK I see the tiniest bit of blue in that book. Thanks for sharing your blues.
Happy Blue Monday, BJ.
Love red and white checked too. Haven't gotten the book yet, but looking forward to picking it up. Would love to make something from Barefoot Contessa but I will have to put it off until I slender down a bit. Thanks for sharing! x0x0
Very charming post. And in my opinion no one is too old the play. Love the red and white check Have a great day!
Enjoy the book for your own pleasure. You have plenty of great ideas of your own without using someone else's. I really like the Pottery Barn tho.
Hi BJ
Love this post and country reds.
Your comment at the back porch made me smile. I read it to J. Not long after we started dating we discovered just how much we have in common when we sat on the banks of the Cuivre River, fishing and sharing a cigar. Anyhoo...we've sort of grown through the years...and they said it wouldn't last.:-)
Oh BJ, I love coming by your blog, it's so happy and positive, you're a wonderful lady! I love your book, need to get it! I love your recipe for peanut butter cookies. I just like the French inspired house!
Hugs to you sweet lady.
FABBY
I have been wanting that book since it hit the news stands!
BJ I love peeks into your beautiful home! I too love reds!
Hugs, Dolly
Oh what a fabulous book and I love all of the pictures. Great inspiration and drool power. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
The old kitchen has its charms, although such old traditions as wood stoves that leave uneven baking are probably better off gone - gas or electric and even heat bake a better popover...
Speaking of which, I'd like this beauty filled with a honey-butter. The layers of eggy taste is perfect at any meal, my favorite breakfast paired with a strong cup of coffee. Yum!
What a lovely blog filled with your beautiful photos of your home! Makes me want to redecorate my home too! So sweet!
Beautiful photos and a wonderful blog - so glad to have found you!
Once again reading your blog feels like a warm hug...I love that!
Hi bj, I only have one thing to say. I WANT A POPOVER! Smile. Your post is over the top in style and good food. I like your entry way the best.
Who makes the black and white tea pot and canister. My friend in LA that just got married, collects it. I love it too. It looks great with the red and white.
You are the best,
Love you bunches, Jeanne
I love all your reds and I'm hungry! ;)
Happy RT.
Mine's here.
I always love seeing photos of your home BJ. It feels so cozy and so inviting. I love the table with the backdrop of books....like dining surrounded by good friends.
XO
Susan
I haven't had breakfast yet, so that very last photo with the apricots and butter on the muffin...well, I'll just say I'm droolin'!!!!
Love the country look this time BJ!!
Here is my Tuesday Link:
Face in the Barroom Floor
I'd really like to have you stop by if you can. Have a wonderful day ahead.
Fantastic captures. Look so homey. :) Would love you to visit my Ruby Tuesday page here.
Dropping by here again and want to share my Blue Monday page too.
Love your country reds! I don't get too many decor mags, no time to read them all. I only buy when I can get those 4.99 a yr deals. I have a friend who alerts me when she sees them on the net.
Your photos are delicious! LOL
Love that checked tablecloth too!
Thanks for linking to 2nd Time Around!
