Around The World

 Thrifting the other day turned up this ONE curtain panel
that I looked for 2 hours to find another...
but....ONLY ONE..
 I named it my AroundTheWorld panel..
nope...don't usually NAME my curtains..
 This one is so cute, tho...
It has wonderful, magical names of places  that I would love to visit.
My first thought was to make pillows out of it...
and still might do that.
 ....but decided I MUST do a tablescape of sorts with it first.
 Now, you are probably like me.
I would NEVER have thought, in a million years, to use a
CURTAIN PANEL
on my table.
 but THAT was before BLOGGING came into my life...
O, and yes, SURE that's me surfing...
don't you just LOVE my pink bikini ? and my long, dark flowing hair ?
 ....found this cute little wicker hamper/suitcase at the same time...
pretty cool.
 My dad was stationed in India in WW2....
He brought back the brass goblet (?) so many years ago.
 He also brought this little stuffed INDIAN WOMAN doll back.
He had no children at the time.
Years later, after he and my mom married, I asked him who that doll was for.
He said,
"I just knew that someday, I would have a little 
black haired, brown-eyed girl to give it to...and that's you."
I was 8 at the time...and he was my step-dad...
I've posted a little about him before...he's the one I loved with all my mite !
I sure do miss him. He was the best daddy a little girl could have and one of my very best friends.
 Not sure just why but every time I think of Hollywood, 
I see dark sun glasses and red convertibles.....:))
Mr. Sweet found this older Atlas while out thrifting with moi...
Yep...he likes to go with me every now and then but he REALLY
likes going to garage sales the best.
We haven't had too many yet this spring. Weather not very good for one...
too windy and too cool.
 My dried roses aren't as pretty as some I've been seeing on blogs.
 They are garden roses...maybe I should use floral roses to dry ??
Wonder what to carry in this little case....
Maybe store a few dishes....or flatware, in it...
 Tired of seeing me post BISCUITS??
:)
 ...can't help it...
 ..we just luv biscuits..
love 'em for breakfast or even to make a little sandwich with....
and besides...I think biscuits are pretty.
 
ONE OF THESE DAYS....
.....one of these days, I sure would love to go to PARIS.
The first thing I would do...
.....buy a beautiful painting like the one above,
off a talented artist on the streets of  PARIS..

    BJ your new look is beautiful so soft and cozy looking. I love your curtain. You are so right about the blogging thingie. I do things now I had no idea of before blogging. It has even influenced my art. Nothing has to look perfect, as I once, thought. There are so many unique ways to look at things. At least that is how I see it now. Don't feel so hot tonight probably won't do a post for Tuesday.

    Love the curtain panel. I am soooo glad I am not the only one who looks for hours for the 2nd on that you just KNOW is there somewhere. Your tablescape is wonderful but Honey,....I gotta call you out on those animal crackers. I mean....really?

    I love the panel! I think it would make gorgeous pillows. You're lucky to have a step-dad like that...I did too. He was such a good person and good to me, however, he passed away far too young of an aneurysm. Very sad!
    My mother made biscuits for breakfast every morning without fail. I love them so much! :-) I don't make them often as I would eat all of them.

    Well, first off- GREAT shot of you surfing (uh-huh-I can lie right along with the best of them)..and I love your curtain panel (No lie). I hate that though-when I find one of something and desperately want another -which has probably never been produced because the one in hand was a prototype! At least that's the excuse I give myself.

    Love your little piece of luggage too. You are lucky that your hubby likes to go garage saling with you. I think MyHero would just as soon go in for minor surgery.

    Honey, I NEVER tire of seeing your biscuits...or your buns in that bikini, either! LOL Really a cute idea to use all those exotic places to accent your treasures.

    I think that panel would make great pillows or chair covers or placemats or a tablerunner...the possibilities are endless! Great find, along with all your other items, too.

    Love that painting..and I think biscuits are beautiful too, especially right out of the oven with melting butter on them and sweet jam! YUM. I love the panel and it would make gorgeous pillow covers! I also love your header..so beautiful. :D

    I love that curtain panel too!It would be great for so many things. How about a cute throw, backed with another fabric and maybe fringe, or a tassel in each corner? I love a good biscuit, but try not to have them too often.

    Now that was a sweet find your "Around the World" curtain panel. How about a runner for the table, unless it's large enough for a table cloth? You always have some sweet stories, some wonderful eats...no, I don't tire of looking at those scrumptious biscuits, and some wonderful eye candy.

    Love the curtain panel. It makes a lovely accent for the table and would make awesome pillows.
    I never tire of seeing biscuits.Being from the south it is one of the major food groups... good anytime and with everything.

    BJ that was very creative. I love how you used even (especially) animal crackers. It's neat to hear about your step dad - I hadn't read posts on him before. Very nice post ... as always ... but this one just seemed to surprise me.     This was very clever. I do all sorts of things on tables now that I didn't do before blogging. I always thought I set a "pretty" table, but looking back I see that sometimes my tables were a bit boring compared to some of the tricks I pull now!

    I just love how you themed the items to the curtain. Pillows would be great from that fabric...or a table runner. We had a wicker case like that and ours was lined with fabric and held a picnic set.

    Lovin' that Around the World panel! NOPE...I hadn't thought of using a panel on my dining room table;however, I did try a flat sheet ONCE. Didn't much care for that look @ ALL!!! HA! I wish my biscuits looked as yummy as yours and didn't add inner tubes to my already buldging mid~drift bluge!!!
