STRAWBERRIES.....good for the soul...

It seems to be a pretty well-known fact that..
I LOVE STRAWBERRIES...

....and, boy, do we love STRAWBERRY JAM around our place..
I always make a few jars for us to enjoy during the WINTERTIME months...
if the strawberries are plentiful and not too expensive...
I made freezer jam
for the first time last year...
One envelope, mixed with 4 cups crushed fruit and 1 1/2 cups of sugar will make 5 or 6 little jars of
PURE GOODNESS....TO THE LAST DROP !!
Slice and crush....
....no added water to "water down the taste" so you are having THE REAL THING...
the real fruit flavor..
Little FREEZER PROOF canning jars...
4 cups of PURE BLISS...
Of course, I  hafta add a little cuteness...
 The 2011 batch...
I like doing *one batch* at a time...
just keeps things fresher.
And...it is so fast and easy, you can make the jam at times
you find fruit at a good price.
Or, for those blessed beyond measure that have their OWN fruit
growing right in their back yard.,
YOU can make it as your fruits ripen.
A teeny tiny jar to eat right now...
It helps to have a GREAT bread like
White Chocolate/Apricot...

 O HONEY
 If you like PEANUT BUTTER,
may I just say....
This fresh jam takes a
PB and J
right OVER THE TOP !

I am thinking of growing some strawberries this year at the lake. Freezer jam sounds like a great way to keep them coming all year long. Thanks for the tips and delicious pictures!!

They'd never make it into the jar, BJ ... our huge strawberry patch is eaten usually before we can get them into the house. You make everything so delectably gorgeous ...

Happy April ~

Love your red and white kitchen. Every thing is so cheerful and I love the photo of the French farm sink with the curtain underneath. You must be so excited to get that project started or at least in the planning stages. Can't wait to see the reveal.

BJ,
I love strawberries, also! The only kind of jelly, jam or preserves that "Mr. Ed" will eat is strawberry!!! Like you, when the price is right...I freeze strawberries for future use. I prefer to freeze them on cookie sheets first...then transfer to freezer bags. Enjoy all that goodness...truly, "fruits of your labors"! (Couldn't resist!)
Fondly,
Pat
