FRENCH TABLE FOR 3, please....

How to Set the Table for a French meal.

The difference between french table settings and universal formal table settings?

The drinks are placed in the front, place cards are at the top right hand corner.

They don't drink tea as part of their dessert (usually) so the teaspoon has been removed.
Of course, if the french hostess would like to serve tea or coffee at the end, she simply adds a tea spoon on the right.
The dessert fork has been replaced by a cheese knife, or a tiny cheese fork, depending on what cheese is served.
That's ME..hurrying to do a French table setting.
Did you notice my tiny waist, *slim* legs and long flowing BLOND hair.
I am an absolute KNOCK-OUT !
The frenchness of my new thrifted dishes was the inspiration for this
very frenchy table.
I made the  cloth with french script, from fabric I  purchased at Joann's Fabrics.
The little French bunny.....
I know he's French...he cries *oui oui oui* all the way home..:)
O, wait a minute..a RABBIT crying wee wee wee ?

NOPE....that would be LYNN'S mascot, EARL...
...he can get a little frenchy at times...
AND, for your EASTERTIME ENJOYMENT,
here's....
EARL
Only at Easter does he have TWICE the good hearing than normal.
My beautiful girl bought this french inspired urn for me several years ago.
It's one of those pieces that looks great with something in it and
fabulous just hanging around, empty.
I really like the thrifted pair of candlesticks from
♫ GOODWILL ♪♪♫
I wonder......do they have French Goodwills?
Bet they do and wouldn't THAT be fun.
O, the French BLUEness of it all...
...the funness of PHOTOSCAPE...
The centerpiece of fruit.in a vintage, footed bowl.
This is the bowl that MUST be used for fruit salad at Christmas.
My daughter, STACY LEIGH, says that is the bowl that has
been used all her life for fruit salad and she will have no other. :)
O, how I love family traditions.
The French blue secretary in the background has also
been in our home longer than Stacy has.
It was purchased from an antiques store in the middle 60's....
we didn't purchase Stacy until 1969....♥♥♥
The FIRST of my pink KNOCKOUT roses for the spring...
...blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
all I need here is some  sweet creme....

...a little stack of dessert plates, just waiting for something good.
Cake and coffee...
This is called a MAPLE SYRUP PUDDING CAKE
and the recipe can be found right HERE.
The recipe is from my very good friend,
RITA at SAGE CUISINE
A very good cake that goes GREAT with a good cup of DUNKIN DONUTS coffee.
Thanks so much, Sage...

RITA says it MUST be served with ice cream...
and we like it both ways.
I've used my little silver bird salt and pepper sooo many times...thanks, SUE

A nice sweet white wine with a luscious red ripe strawberry
too add to the robust flavor...
I do enjoy a glass of good wine.
 OH YES...
I LOVE anything FRENCH...
Something about France being so romantic and all the things
associated with France .................pure ROMANCE..
I do love french looks...
but I love it MORE when they are made in the
GOOD OLE USA....
"Praying that the Lord fills
your Heart with Peace.
Holds you in His Love and
Blesses you with His Grace..
On this Holy Day and Always."

Oh BJ...I think we must have been sisters in another life! I have the exact same glass pedestal bowl in two sizes & one of them ALWAYS has ambrosia fruit salad in it. In fact, I'll be making it tomorrow so it can mellow overnight for Easter.

I'm lovin' your beautiful new dishes...very pretty & I'm laughing at Earl...very funny!

Thank you so much for your sweet words on my G'kidlet's table. I found those polka-dot placemats at Dollar Tree last year & have them in pink, too. Maybe they'll carry them again this year. ~insert crossed fingers~

I'm off to JoAnn's today to snatch up some of that wonderful Frenchy fabric. Bon Jour & Joyeuses Pâques!

Hi BJ
Yes they DO have French thrift stores. I go to them all the time. I'm French, live in Ontario. Our border is Quebec, so I'm always hunting for great finds. Now I'd prefer to be in France hunting, but for now I'm happy where I am ; )
Lovely French table setting B.J.
Happy Easter, and I've only changed my name twice. This one is sticking for sure, lol.

What pretty dishes you have found! Simply lovely!! So inviting.

I would be pleased as punch to sit at your French inspired table as long as you don't serve French restaurant sized portions, you need a magnifying glass to see them, portions. They cost an arm and a leg, and we have to go home and have a sandwich .

Your table looks wonderful, and I love the made in the USA!!Not too much has that label anymore.
BJ, I wish you a very joyous Easter and abundant blessings. I know you realize you are truly blessed already, but a few more can't hurt!

A maple syrup cake? Seriously? That must taste amazing. I may change my plans for the dessert that I'm going to make for Sunday if I can find some decent pecans up here. Your table setting is so beautiful. I would love to eat at your house. The fun and fellowship would be awesome, I'm sure. Have a wonderful weekend! Candace
