How to Set the Table for a French meal.
The difference between french table settings and universal formal table settings?
The drinks are placed in the front, place cards are at the top right hand corner.
They don't drink tea as part of their dessert (usually) so the teaspoon has been removed.
Of course, if the french hostess would like to serve tea or coffee at the end, she simply adds a tea spoon on the right.
The dessert fork has been replaced by a cheese knife, or a tiny cheese fork, depending on what cheese is served.

Hi BJ
Yes they DO have French thrift stores. I go to them all the time. I'm French, live in Ontario. Our border is Quebec, so I'm always hunting for great finds. Now I'd prefer to be in France hunting, but for now I'm happy where I am ; )
Lovely French table setting B.J.
Happy Easter, and I've only changed my name twice. This one is sticking for sure, lol.

That urn with the roses really catches my eye ... Easter blessings.
What pretty dishes you have found! Simply lovely!! So inviting.
I would be pleased as punch to sit at your French inspired table as long as you don't serve French restaurant sized portions, you need a magnifying glass to see them, portions. They cost an arm and a leg, and we have to go home and have a sandwich .
Your table looks wonderful, and I love the made in the USA!!Not too much has that label anymore.
BJ, I wish you a very joyous Easter and abundant blessings. I know you realize you are truly blessed already, but a few more can't hurt!
A maple syrup cake? Seriously? That must taste amazing. I may change my plans for the dessert that I'm going to make for Sunday if I can find some decent pecans up here. Your table setting is so beautiful. I would love to eat at your house. The fun and fellowship would be awesome, I'm sure. Have a wonderful weekend! Candace
Your blog is lovely and the pictures so beautiful. Easter Blessings to you and your family.
