THE AMERICAN PIE COUNCIL created this day
.....simply to celebrate
THE PIE !

A great way to celebrate NATIONAL PIE DAY is to bake some pies and give them away to family and friends..
OR..
go to your very favorite bakery
and buy your pies...:))
BUT....ABOVE ALL...THE PIE !

EAT A PIECE OF PIE TODAY !!
I would LOVE to say that I made this
beautiful and delicious looking PINK PIE
for you but......I didn't !
Isn't it a beauty !!
I am searching hi and lo
for the recipe that will let me make one that looks THIS good. !!
I DID make this COCONUT PIE for ya....
...my mother*in*law's recipe that's over one hundred years old..
♥shhhh....THIS is the pie I make for MR. SWEET
just before I ask him for something that I really, REALLY want.
It works every single time...;-)
PECAN PIE
is probably my absolute 2nd FAVORITE...but I read somewhere that just one piece has about
15 and 1/2 MILLION calories...
Dang it ! That sure takes the fun out of it, hu !!?
♥♥♥
MY recipe is about 25 years old and from a friend..
In the instructions, at the end, she has,
"When you take this out of the oven,
sit it on a window sill to cool and while it's cooling,
call ME, and I'll have the coffee ready by the time you get here with the pie !"
are all safe in eating ALL WE WANT of CHOCOLATE PIE..
♥♥♥
Mr. Sweet loved my mother's CHOCOLATE pies so much, he could never get enuf of them.
Once, she said she was going to bake him a CHOCOLATE pie every single day for a solid month..
just to see if he would ever tire of them.
She kept her word and delivered him a fresh, warm, right-out-of-the-oven CHOCOLATE pie every
single day for a whole month.
She said that the next day, when she was finished pie making for the month,
he called her and wanted to know "where the heck is my chocolate pie?"
hahhhaaaa...ain't life grand!!
happy national pie day !!
♥♥♥
I just wish I could sample a piece of all the pies made
in Blogland today. :))
♥♥♥ *oink oink....!

CHERRY pie is my very, number one, top favorite of all pies...
In fact, Mr. Sweet is beginning to worry about me and my need
for CHERRY PIE...
Remember these little FRIED CHERRY PIES
I made not long ago?
So easy and sooo good.
GRAND canned biscuits, rolled bigger,
add sweetened and cooked TART cherries,
pinch together and either deep fry (best way)
or they are great baked...

ReplyDeleteI so wish you could email me a piece of pie...one of each kind! lol Omigosh that pink pie looks soooo delicious. I love all kinds of pies but I think my favourite would have to be chocolate cream pie...wish I would have known your mother! lol I had no idea there was even a National Pie Day...now I need to go bake a pie before the day ends:-) xoxo
ReplyDeleteBJ, I love your post! Thank you for celebrating by linking up!!! I'm still working on the assembly of my pie but hope to get it posted in a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to seeing all the great pies shared by bloggers!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love pie...pie for breakfast is my absolute favorite, lol! Oh, and number #1 for me is cherry with chocolate number 2 and pecan in the third favorite position.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Great looking pies BJ! I love your friend's note on the recipe, that's so fun! I already linked for Pie Day so I had to work on Cupcake Sunday... it's dirty work but someone has to do it:@)
ReplyDeleteBj, this new banner is one of my all time favorites! Guess what? I baked an apple pie and a peach pie today for deswsert tomorrow when the pastors family is coming for Sunday dinner, so I celebrated pie day without even knowing it! I love the story of your mother making Mr. Sweet a chocolate pie every day for a month, he isn't spoiled or anything is he? :>)
ReplyDeleteDelicious post, BJ! Pecan is my favorite, followed closely by coconut cream. YUM!
ReplyDeleteDoes it count if I bought 'Apple Pie' ice cream today?
ReplyDeleteOh yummmmmmmmmmy.
ReplyDeleteHi bj, your cherry pies look yummy! My favorite pie is lemon meringue. That would count as a fruit serving, right? :) Linda
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that pie is my favorite dessert...and I'm not fussy, I love them all! All of your pies look delicious and I love the little birdie letting off steam! :-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
So not fair. I am in my super grubby clothes right now, cleaning away and needing a shower right about now and now I want a piece of PIE and the only way I will get some is if I drive to the store to get it. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone at the store would notice that I look like a train wreck.
ReplyDeleteI will have my pie before the weekend is over! LOL! Thanks for sharing BJ
Hugs, Sue
Great chocolate pie story. That man loves his pies!
ReplyDeleteDang! My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail. Gorgeous pies! Thank you for sharing and for stopping by my post. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteToo many YUMMY sweets to drool over! Thanks for sharing National Pie Day with me:) HUGS!
ReplyDeleteBJ, That pink pie is beautiful but so are each of yours! You make lovely (and I'm sure delicious) pies! You are such a fabulous cook, BJ!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Beth
Pecan pie with whipped cream, my favorite.
ReplyDeletexoxo
All those pies look so very good...
ReplyDeleteAnd I laughed about the chocolate pie...My 3 year old granddaughter is always asking us for chocolate pie...the minute we go visit she wants grandpa to take her out for pie....Oh, and I'm sorry I stole your adorable pie lady...I thought it was the universal symbol we were all suppose to use for our posts....
Your photos will make me gain weight for sure cause they make me hungry. Delicious looking pies, BJ!...Christine
ReplyDeleteBJ they all look so scrumptious, I don't know which one to choose as my favourite.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the pecan pie wins ahead of the chocolate.
I think I have to go back and take another look!
Happy Pie Day.
Bj, what a selection! Each one is gorgeous and sooooo tempting. I want a slice of each! Pecan is a favorite here too. I only make them at Christmas or Thanksgiving. I could eat a whole pie is I'm not careful. Just a sliver at a time makes me think there aren't as many calories. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these beauties. Happy Pie Day! ~ sarah
Wow bj-- you are a wonderful pie baker! They all look scrumptious! I don't tink I'd ever tire of a chocolate cream pie either :D
ReplyDeleteI love cherry pie too! Perfect for ♥ Day and GWashington's Bday! Coming up!
ReplyDeleteDelicious post, BJ!
Until this morning, I didn't know there was such a thing as National Pie Day. If you will share your coconut pie, I won't have to make one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post - store bought or homemade - just celebrate! Thanks for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.
