FLOWER and BLUE HOUR

I hate to keep harping on MY FLOWER...
....but THIS BABY  is the bloomingest thing I have ever seen.
SIX big, beautiful, red flowers with 2 more on the ready...
NOTE...they are all fully open now.
*HEAVY SIGH....
Look at the adorable little step ladder.
See how cute it looks in this amazing room.
Well....
I have a ladder too....
but, I foolishly put those little rub-on decals on it and
now I want them OFF.
I'll sand and repaint, I think.
POTTERY BARN would NEVAH put rub-on decals on ANYthing of theirs !!!
What WAS I thinking???
and besides...YELLOW ?.....this time it will be CHIPPY WHITE..
until POTTERY BARN shows something in another color that I love.
'*sigh...I am sooo fickle..
good grief!
Well, and MY ladder is too tall...
taller than PB'S....*whin
And, besides...
ladders look better in rooms that LOOK LIKE POTTERY BARN.

I asked MR. SWEET if he would kindly cut off the legs to make it shorter...
and take that little shelf thingy on the side off...
After his eyes rolled back in place,
he said he thought I would be better off if we just looked for another ladder.
"Awwww, it's ok..
I'm satisfied with this little one with a broken step..."
L..O..T..S
more things we need instead of another little ladder.
I accidentally caught the most intense and beautiful
BLUE HOUR
I've ever captured.

I have the ceiling light on here...
see the blue reflected in the little mirrors on your right..?
in the darkness....
Mr. Sweet couldn't believe the blueness my camera was showing.
THIS is the photo that we like best...
Out our back door to the patio.
AMAZING, this Blue Hour thing.
GOD'S WONDERS never cease to humble me.
and...CHERRY PIE can bring me to my knees, too...
That's the CHERRY PIE I made last week...
NOW, this picture is making my silly self hungry for ANOTHER one.
This is, indeed, the weekend for  PIES...:)))

  2. What once served you well in yellow will be lovely in white, now! Nothing wrong with a little leg reduction! I found a great little step ladder in the summer- just haven't painted it out yet. I think it cost me all of a dollar.
Love your blues, BJ. Wish I could keep a plant alive long enough for it to bloom or last more than a few months. LOL My brown thumb killed 2 of the little $15 trees I used in one of my Xmas vignettes. They just up and dried out completely. I did move them from one room to another, and I'm wondering if they were just finicky. So I moved the remaining one back into the great room to see if he lives!

  3. Ooh BJ, those "blue" pictures are really amazing. So beautiful. And your plant. Holy cow girl! Now that ladder of yours would probably make a great plant stand, don't you think? With something droopy and drippy maybe?

  4. Love your photos. The flowers are beautiful. LOve the Pottery Barn's stuffs my self. NO, I don't own any. See? What you can do to old stuffs that aren't going to be use. Great Ladder.

  6. Wow, that blue is amazing. I have never seen that before. I have seen pinkish tones but never blue. I am going to have to show hubby when he gets home. He is a weather and atomosphere nut..I mean fanatic :) and I KNOW he will explain in detail what causes that (oh lucky me...just kidding). He would much rather watch the Weather Channel then most other shows.
    Big weekend hugs, Sue

  11. BJ,
Your flower is, truly, a beauty! I agree, Gods wonders never cease to amaze me.
I don't guess I know when blue hour is here on the prairie. I have never seen what you all capture in your photos. Lovely to envision through your photos!
Now. . .about that gadget "thingy". .. are you going to reveal it's identity? "Mr. Ed" thinks it has something to do with forming sheet metal. I think it's a press of some sort, but other than that . .. we're clueless on the prairie!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  13. I had no idea that National Pie Day is January 23, or I would have baked a pie! A friend of mine just gave me a pie bird last evening, it is so darn cute and I'll show ya next time I make a pie ;o) Do you use a birdie?

You did good with those blue hour photos BJ!

Isn't the PB catalog the best for ideas and tons of inspiration? Good luck on your ladder project!

  14. BJ, the blue hour photos are amazing. Fun to see it when you least expect it.
As for the ladder, you don't need to be standing on a ladder like that anyway. Be careful!
Now I'm going to sulk because I don't have a piece of cherry pie. :-(

  15. I was in the PBarn outlet Thurs. A lot of money for furn made with sawdust. Smashed corners, etc. can't just sand like real wood and fix.
Just bought a few little things.
Like Pat said, I just look at the catalog for ideas, you can do the same look for tons less, and even real wood! :)

  22. Good Morning BJ,
Thank you so much for coming out to East Texas to see me this week end.
Your home is beautiful, warm and inviting.I have to ask you if the Furr's Pie Kitchen is still in Lubbock? West Texas is like coming home for me, I will look forward to following along with you.

  23. I think your ladder is cute the way it is. I have a small one and painted it kind of aqua many years ago. I put a round glass top on it and enjoy it every day by my kitchen door.

Pie is my favorite dessert...and now I'm going to have to make a cherry pie just because of you!! :)

  27. Hi BJ....this fun post is a delight in Florals, Ladder Finds and Food....yay CherryPie! I have a small Ladder that needs a redo, but I use it to step up on, so it's pretty chippy as it is. 28. I love all you shared to day. I would not use it, but that step ladders is a neat one. It is amazing what we do to get just the right color for a given day. I do not know how you did it, but that worked out to give you a great blue. I am going to get my book out and see what I can learn to do with my little digital.

  29. Hi BJness! Look at our pretty Blue Hour snaps! I love this and always forget to try and capture it!
Now your little ladder is a cutie. Wish my bathroom was bigger - I'd have me a little ladder in there with magazine poked on the steps! :)
Can't wait to see your redone ladder all chippy and stuff! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
