PEANUTS..ummm

Here it is...PINK SATURDAY
A lot of us have been coming over to see BEVERLY every single SATURDAY for quite awhile.
Be sure to stop over and see all of the beautiful PINKS being shown all over Blogland...
*
THE color PINK can mean a lot of things besides being a beautiful, soft and dreamy color.
*
It can mean
 HOPE
LIFE
GLORY
FAITH
for those people stricken with the dreaded disease...
BREAST CANCER
 *
Chicken salad, filled with celery, pecans and sweet grapes....
and I'm serving our southern sweet tea in
BRIGHT PINK SOLO CUPS...
thanks to SOLO for supporting the research for THE CURE.
 *
We spent most of the morning parching peanuts....
Don't they look good in my vintage pickling CROCK...
My favorite Aunt Lillian gave it to me many, MANY years ago..
I sure would rather have my Aunt Lil than this ole crock !!
*
 OOO...
how I love PEANUTS...
*
NOW, I will be making
MICRO PEANUT BRITTLE
that is so so good...
and one of my favorite candies.

I DID make some PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES this morning...
Those THREE INGREDIENTS COOKIES...
YUM

We went to a high school football game tonight
< boyfriend of a grandgirl was playing >
and all of the students were wearing
PINK FOR THE CURE...
It was an awesome and a "so good" feeling to see !!

Hey hey BJ, Just got home from a morning of treasure hunting and didn't find much but a fabulous old cast iron water sprinkler. How are you this morning? I loved your post today and how you did food and the pink cups and the big fight all tied together. :) Now what do you mean by parched peanuts? I loved boiled peanuts but not sure what parched ones are. I am thrilled you joined the party. :) Happy PS

Oh I can smell the peanuts parching now! My Daddy used to parch them and they were soooooooo good! I remember how he grew them, we would pull them up, shake the dirt off, he would wait until the right time to put them in the pan. I can see him in my memory shaking that pan to get them all turned. Thanks for that memory! Love to you and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I may have to move further West and drop by for some of your good cooking. I love roasted peanuts and buy a bag once a month. The lunch meal is just my thing. My sister and I go to a tea room most every Saturday. This is kinda what they serve. I would love a plate of yours right now.

Beeeeej! You would be sooooooooo proud of me. I made some fresh chocolate chip cookies today. Ham n' bean and corn muffins, too! Of course, I eat the dough as I am baking them. I know, I'm not suppose to, but I have been doing that my whole life and I'm still kickin' Your peanut butter cookies look yummy!

It's peanut time here in south GA. Lots of digging going on. We prefer ours boiled...yummy. That chicken salad looks awesome. That is one recipe I just can't seem to get the hang of. Thankfully a local eatery has fruited chicken salad that I love and eat it often. Love the pink cups!

Good Morning BJ. Long time to see huh? LOL. Well I have been back blogging for a little over a month now, but I only blog on Sunday's right now. Those Peanut Butter Cookies sure do look good and would go good with my cup of Coffee I am drinking right now. I love Peanuts as well. Used to when we could afford it, we would go to a few Restaurants that would serve Peanuts from a Bucket and you would just put the hulls on the floor. It was real neat. I love the old crock that you put yours in and I used to have a Great-Aunt Lillian, but she has gone to Heaven now. My hometown's Football team had Pink Towels in their game this past Friday night and the Coaches wore Pink-Shirts showing their support for The Cure. I thought that was so nice of them to do. Hope all has been good with you and yours. Take care and come visit me soon.

Love and hugs,

Karen H.

Parching peanuts was a new term to me too, the things you learn whilst blogging.
Hope you have a wonderful week.

Interesting story you got here. It would be great to read a bit more concerning that theme. The only thing it would also be great to see on this blog is a few photos of any gizmos.

Hi bj! Thanks for stopping by. That IS a little coffee pot that you saw on my stove. Indeed it is!

I love the goodies you bake and always wonder where my desire to bake and cook have gone, at least for the most part. I enjoy it when I do it...I just seldom do it.

I guess I would rather come here and just LOOK! :)
Love,

Happy Pink Saturday, dear BJ. You make every Saturday - and every day - special.

Love your new light fixture. It looks fantastic.

I didn't know there are pink Solo cups. I need to add them to my shopping list. And, I love chicken salad. Did you save some for me? And, I'd like a cookie to go with it. Please!
