I NEEDED A NEW FALL WREATH.....

I wanted a pretty, full fall wreath for our  living room...
Couldn't be buying things for it...had to shop the house.
*
I had a wreath from several years ago...
back before I entered BLOGLAND and found all you talented, wonderful ladies to teach me things...
*
O YES...I thought I knew it all until I met YOU !!
I get so much inspiration from YOU and learn something new every single day from YOU...
...AND, I LOVE IT...
I took the olden wreath apart...washed the leaves and dusted the flowers..
they tend to fade if you're not careful..;< i learned that the hard way >
*
MR. SWEET picked me up some of the large acorns..
a little later, they will be much larger..and I'll add more...
I ironed the fallish ribbon from years ago...
Am I the only one that saves and irons ribbons?
It just seems to be the thing to do...
just say'n....
I really love using the natural things...
a little later, I can pick up more and add them to the wreath.
 *
With the sun behind it, it looks like a
BLAZE OF GLORY...
*
Mr. Sweet said that this back french door may not be the best place to hang it..
"We might knock it off".....
hmmmmm
 While it's hanging here, tho....
did I ever show you the black and white plaid roll up shades for my doors?
O MERCY...I love plaid second only to POLKA DOTS....:)
Well, ok...I might just hang it on my leaning mirror...
looks pretty good there..
*
"It's a little close to my recliner...I sure would hate to mess it up".....
hmmmm....
*
Oh, and I wanted to mention that YVONNE that lives over at STONE GABLE
said that if we would use two grapevine wreaths, wired together, we could make
our wreath much fuller and more lush...
SO, I did...
and take a look how full and luscious it looks..
;).....i am happy !
Thanks so much for the tip, Yvonne.

It's all full of reds and golds...very little ORANGE...
*
OK...how about hanging it here at the end of the entry hall...
It looks great on these lovered doors...
*
"Well...it's a little close here, walking down the hall way...sure would
hate to knock it off the wall and break it all up...."
 *
By this time I am wondering if he is at that stage where he can't
chew gum and walk at the same time...!!

< now my friends here KNOW I love him dearly >
*
I mean....if you see something sticking out a little bit, uhhh...walk AROUND it...
"Well, if it's dark and I don't remember it's there........"
*
OK...GOT IT..
I'll hang it over this book shelf...
NO one can possibly run into it THERE...

good grief.!
haahhhaaa...does anyone else in the whole world go thru this kind of thing....?
or are we just unique.?
:))
I can see my wreath is a little bottom heavy...I need more at the top...< the story of my life..>
but, since this is a "project in the works", I can add things to it
until I get it JUST like I want...
Of course...by THEN...
it will be time to hang my CHRISTMAS WREATH...
OF COURSE !!
**********************

It is now hanging in the alcove of my living room...
*
I also need to make one for my front door but....
doubt if it will get done..
I am already into my CHRISTMAS decorations..O, don't worry..
I NEVER put out CHRISTMAS until AFTER
Thanksgiving !....never.!

You do have a talent for creating lovely things. Really enjoy coming to see shat you will be displaying next. That wreath is very lovely.
Thank you for explaining about the peanuts; I have never seen raw peanuts; I think by the time they get up here in norhern Ontario Canada they are ready to eat and enjoy.

Love the wreath...recycling is fun! The colors sure spell "Fall". I am glad to see I am not the only one that creates something and then change the location of it several times...got to find just the best final resting place.

Sure do like the new light fixture too!

I think the wreath turned out great ~ I wouldn't change a thing. You'd never know it was a re-do. Chuckled at your "story of my life" comment in small print. Blessings.

Hi BJ...

It's gorgeous, BJ!

I have the same problem here with "people" in my house not knowing how to walk around something. I have a shell and grapevine wreath on my bathroom door. I've had to reassemble it so many times I lost count.

Happy Sunday! La

You are a darling for the shout-out. And your wreath is so lush and beautiful!!!!!
I just love that you took apart an old wreath and from that made your new one.
SOOOOOOOOOOO pretty!!!! And I love the touches of natural. But the thing that really catches my eye is the way your colors play so nicely and richly together.

Don't you just love the look of a big lush fabulous wreath hanging on a wall or door? This one is just fabulous!

BTW- I save and iron ribbon... even when it is faded!
You are a women after my own heart!

I love your wreath BJ, and quite frankly, I'm the klutz in this family, if it were sticking out in a hallway I really would run into it and knock it down, so I understand Mr. Sweet completely:>) The new light looks so much prettier in the entry hall!

Your makeover wreath is beautiful. I do that quite a bit. It's like having all new flowers, when you repurpose.

Thanks so much for the double wreath tip!

Auntie sezzzzzz... said...

Well, now that you settled all your wreath issues, you can just pop over and make me one! :-) I need one on front door. But I'm not creative enough to "make" one. And I'm too cheap to buy one. -giggles-

Seems my front door may well go "neked" this year.

But I do have quite a bit of fun stuff up, in our hearth room, where we spend the most time. :-)

Do you note that I'm TRYING to make myself feel better, about the "neded-ness" of our front door? >,-)

Oooops!

That should have read...

Hi BJness! I love your Fallen wreath you've made! I like the idea of tying two wreaths together to make it fuller! :) You did so good and it looks pretty hanging right there!
Oh, your chandy looks so pretty!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

That is a great tip about combining two grapevine wreaths. We do that here in my corner with evergreen wreaths, but it really all depends where one wants to display it on how well it works. Between the screen and main door...not so well!

Beautiful wreath...love how you remade it into something very special all over again. And, yes, I do save all my ribbons.

Denise said...

Great ideas. Thanks for sharing, just found your blog.I can see you got the black and white bug like me.I just caught the bug a couple of years ago.I like my black and whites with a splash of lavender.Happy fall.

Great ideas -- I've pulled mine out of the attic -- stuff needs glueing back on! Yes I also save ribbon and iron and re-roll it! I have a lot -- somewhere in the attic. If I could just find it I'd be in business.

Debbie said...

As usual, I smiled through this blog. No... you're not alone. I iron my ribbons as well. And no, you're not alone. I go through the same machinations trying to figure out what to do or where to hang something.

Every place you tried was great to me, and I really loved its final resting place.

The wreath is beautiful. I guess I could have just said that at the beginning!

Diann @ The Thrifty Groove said...

Hi BJ!

Oh, your wreath looks wonderful! And it looked wonderful in every place you put it! LOL
Nope, you are not the only one to save old ribbon and iron it out! i do it all the time!
Have a terrific day!

Kathleen said...

You did a wonderful job, BJ!
And yes, I save everything, iron ribbons, old wreaths to double, yep, I am a saver!
About those acorns...are they from outside? Some blogger wrote she brought some in and when it got warm in the house little critters started coming out, worms! So ok to leave them on an outside wreath, but not inside.

SmilingSally said...

BJ, it looks gorgeous wherever you hang it! You're amazing; you act as if it's nothing at all, yet, I KNOW that I couldn't do it! Why, I can't even tie a pretty bow like that!

And... Mr. Sweet is as gifted as you!

Please come see my outside shots. You won't believe it!

You did a wonderful job with the wreath...of course, that is my "thing"! I love playing with flowers. I turned my laptop round and round when you said it was bottom heavy. Have you tried it with the dark red up the left side?? I like the unexpected, and I think it might be pretty turned that way too.

Love the light fixture, isn't is amazing how a little change can do so much!

Hi bj, there is lots of great things to enjoy in your post today. I love the wine in the lead bags. I never would have thought of it. Mmmmm I love bread too.

Your wreath looks awesome. I thought it looked great where ever you put it. I will say my hubs is very prone to knocking things off walls etc. so I get the dilemma. I love the colors. Good job bj.

I am taking a bloggy break until the weekend is over because of having company and a BBQ party here on Sat. for 50 people. I am BUSY to say the least. We will also have 4 house guests and they arrive on this Wednesday.

Have a great week my sister friend.
Love you, Jeanne
