A LOT OF RANDOM PINKS....and a VERY LONG POST...

I am linking up to play with
SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
MY THANKS TO ALL THE HOSTS...

THIS MOSAIC I MADE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES...

It is all images from the net and those PINK tulips just take my breath away. Can you even begin to imagine a FIELD of PINK TULIPS such as this ?? These are in HOLLAND....and I would dearly love to go there someday.
****

UMMM...

When I was a little bitty girl, we lived in DALLAS and about 5 or 6 blocks from a CANDY FACTORY.

My mother and I would walk there and buy their BROKEN candy for mere pennies per small sack. I well remember some of the ABOVE candies in my little sack.*sigh

Will I EVER quit missing my momma? O, I think NOT...I promise you that you will never get too old to quit missing your mom...a sound...a smell...a song...so so many things that are woven into our very souls that are associated with the most important person in our lives....our moms. bwaaaaaaa

I always get a WARM, FUZZY feeling when I see RIBBON CANDIES, TOO.

Mom always bought some of it...and we always had it during the CHRISTMAS season. ....ahhhh...more "comfort' food !! :))

MY Geraniums are just out-doing themselves this summer...
THIS one is from last summer...I took it inside during the wintertime and placed it in a SOUTHERN window..it bloomed ALL WINTER LONG...
Now, it's thriving outside again this summer...
I wish I could send YOU a cutting from it....:))
*
"WAY TO GO, GERANIUMS !"
I just LUV CONE FLOWERS...I think they are so pretty and I plant a few every summer....they NEVER come back, tho.
Wonder just what I am doing wrong? Maybe our winters get too cold for them?
*

Sweet PINK roses from our back yard garden...
MR. SWEET picks 2 every day or so to put in these POTTERY BARN wall vases.(you might know without me sayin' that they were ON SALE !)

*
They look so pretty with fresh flowers...
In the wintertime, I keep some of the Burford Holly and red berries in them..
and...
I've been known to use FABULOUS FAKES every now and then !! ;>)

(i heard what u said, SHELIA...i KNOW u love yours!)
**

"ONE IS NEARER GOD'S HEART IN A GARDEN THAN ANY WHERE ELSE ON EARTH."

I have an appointment for my yearly MAMMOGRAM next week.
I hope YOU have made your appointment, too.
PLEASE don't skip it...it is so important to detect any trouble very early !
**
My heart goes out to all the beautiful women that have encountered this
DEVIL DISEASE, straight from HELL.
**
PLEASE PRAY....PRAY HARD FOR A CURE.
*
We can all help in the FIGHT...
....buy PINK FOR THE CURE everytime you get the chance...
...remind yourself and your friends to get a mammogram...
...spread the news, FAR and WIDE, the importance of SELF EXAMS...
...donate...even if it's just a dollar...every time you get the chance.
...CLICK for the CURE when you see a button for someone to receive a FREE mammogram.
**
THERE'S MANY ways we can fight this thing...
WE JUST HAVE TO DO IT !!!
*

OH MY GOSH BJ SWEETIE...
Can you hear me squealing out there? Can you see me doing the happy dance out here? I am so THRILLED. I can't wait to make your wonderful salad recipes. SQUEALLLLLLL.... That is about all I can do is squeal, still not voice durn it. The dr.s do not expect it to come back. I am still talking to the BIG GUY about it.

Now what beautiful shares you have today. I too would love to see in person that field of tulips. I go to visit Riet at her blog because she takes the most awesome photos that you will ever see. I love seeing the windmills and the canals. It is a beautiful place.

Thank you for the reminder. I need to have my mammogram scheduled too. I am doing the bone density next week, so will get on the schedule at that time for my mammogram. Needs to be done. I love the pink bra that is a planter. Isn't that the cutest thing ever? I know it would get my two oldest grandson's attention.

Thank you again sweet friend. I will email you my mailing information. I am so thrilled, at the end of this dr. appt. day, I so needed a lift. Thank you.

I will see you out and about during our pink visit day.

Sending you BIG hugs and so much love from Phoenix, Sherry

You are SUCH a VERY special lady BJ... "HUGS" for showing my home!!! Yes I too associate ribbon candy with my Mom at Christmas... We ALWAYS had it then. It was SO pretty, much thinner than what they have today. and OH can you imagine being in Holland when all these "Bulbs" explode into color. It would be spectacular, wouldn't it...Congrats to all the LUCKY winners of that salad dressing!!! OH and I have to say that our broken candy was from the Peter Paul Almond Joy plant that we used to get a 5pound box of them for a $1 because the almonds were not perfectly centered... OH what a treat that was and Thank you for reminding me of it. Hugs again for showing my home, I hope the sweet ladies come for a visit!!!

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY BJ,
I LOVE YOUR LONG POST
MOTHER ALWAYS PUT RIBBON CANDY IN OUR STOCKINGS AT CHRISTMAS AND GRANDDAD ALWAYS HAD RIBBON CANDY AND GREEN MOIST CANDY SLICES...AND MOTHER WOULD ALLOW US TO ONLY HAVE ONE AND GRANDDAD WOULD WALK OUTSIDE AND PULL A WHOLE SACK OF CANDY OUT OF HIS POCKET AND GIVE IT TO US....HE WAS THE DOOR WATCHER FOR IF MOTHER CAME OUT...HE WAS ORNERY BUT NOT ONE GRANDCHILD DIDN'T LOVE HIM AND CRY LIKE A BABY WHEN HE PASSED.
I WILL PRAY FOR THERESA...SHE HAS A NASTY CANCER.
YOUR POST WAS WARM AND VERY SENTIMENTAL. I HAVEN'T HAD TO GIVE UP MY MOTHER BUT IT JUST ABOUT KILLED ME TO GIVE UP MY DAUGHTER.
HUGS TO YOU SWEET BJ

Hi BJ!
I have to tell you I am still laughing at your comment under your header...about fitting into the same earrings....FUNNY!
What absolutely delicious pinkness you have displayed...between the tulips and the candy....YUMMIE!
As far as your coneflowers....do you let them seed themselves? If you trim them too early before the seeds drop they can't reseed. I live in PA and my coneflowers reproduce every year. We don't trim them back til all the seeds are gone.
Have a beautiful weekend!
;-D Kathleen

Loved all the pink on your post. I lost my dad several years ago, there is not a day that doesn't go by that I think of my great dad. We used to go the Newberry's and Woolworth candy counters and get candy to eat out on a bench, while my Mom and sister went shopping. I didnt' like shopping so it was not big deal to sit out it. I did love getting the candy and spending time with my dad. Your post was long but well worth the read. Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing.
