GRAPE VINES and WINES....

Another WINE party, if you please....

The many rains we were blessed with out here in WEST TEXAS
have made all our flowers, WEEDS and...
GRAPE VINES thrive........
*
I thought we'd have a little wine tasting party in my back yard today...I have several wines for you to taste but only two are my favorites...
*
*
NOTE....at the time of this posting, I did not have an ICE BUCKET
for my wine....
Yep...I was ICE BUCKETLESS....
but...that's all changed now because I went THRIFTING today and found.....
AN ICE BUCKET !!
WOO HOONESS...
Expect another WINE PARTY soon..:))
My handsome and sweet son, DAVID, has a huge grape vineyard just outside of town.
I did a wonderful post last year with 2 of my grandgirls in his vineyard.
The fabulous FIFI painted one of my photos from the vineyard and I gave
it to DAVID and family at Christmas time.
They were thrilled to death.
**
I am hoping and planning on doing another shoot out there again this summer.
*
But, today...
we have to go no further than MY OWN BACKYARD....
*

I am serving a wonderful GARDEN SALAD with FRESH peppers on the side.
Mr. Sweet and I both LOVE peppers...if they aren't TOO hot.
*
Our very favorite wine of all is still
WILD VINES BLACKBERRY WINE...
It has such a refreshing and tasty flavor...
and there's not nearly as much alcohol in it as other wines. heh heh heh....
*
It seems to go with everything...
salads..
steaks...
potato soup....just about ANYthing goes better with Blackberry wine. :)))
ESPECIALLY CHOCOLATE....
** We have only one large grape vine .....
* *
A comfy bench.....
**

The BOOK OF WINE...
*
A fabulous white wine from a local winery...
We like sweet wines rather than dry ones.
*
Our one vine is LOADED with grapes...
Mr. Sweet will stretch netting over this vine a little later to keep the birds from eating all the fruit...
If we can harvest ENOUGH of the grapes, he will eat some...
and I will make a few jars of jelly with them.
Homemade grape jelly with homemade biscuits...GOOD GRIEF !!
*
ahhhh....Blackberry wine and dessert go together like a horse and carriage...
So so good...
....little tiny tarts with a touch of whipped cream...
*
(my mother always said she could eat a cow chip if it had whipped cream on it !!)
**
The sun was beginning to get very bright .... and very hot..
*
We had to move a little closer in for shade...
*
Just little tiny pastry shells, filled with creamy fruit yogurt....

My glass is nearly empty...
my tummy is nice and full....
The sun is getting hotter...
so let's head back inside and ...
take a good, long nap ...
***
I am playing with these lovely ladies today:
My thanks to all hosting....

BJ,
Looks, love, love, lovely!!! I wish we could share a glass of wine together, someday. We have a local winery, too. They are good friends of ours. I will be serving their wine today at the tennis girl lunch. Pics to follow!

What an AWESOME post BJ! Your pictures were fabulous and I loved the tablescape - absolute perfection lady. I also love the idea of using a terra cotta pot as a wine bucket, even though you bought one. Very clever! I will have to get me some of that Blackberry Wine you were talkin about. I love sitting on my back porch at night with a glass of wine watching the lightening bugs.

It all looks lovely, but you know I don't wine, just whine!

And some of your homemade grape jelly too!!

This looks lovely BJ. Can I admit that I am one of those unsophisticated people who has never aquired the taste for wine? I cook with it but that is all.

Hi BJ, Thanks so much for the sweetest comments you left on my blog! It would be an honor to be showcased on your cheerful blog, so feel free. Oh how I wish I could be in your lovely garden sharing a glass of wine and enjoying your salad. Most of all, I'm pretty sure I could just sit and listen to all your stories...you probably got lots of nice stories to tell :)

P.S. The side panels in my bath were from (believe it or not) Michaels Arts & Crafts. It's actually a screen (3 panels) and I repurposed them. I got them about 3 or 4 years ago for $40 bucks...what a steal huh???

Oh my BJness, everything looks wonderfully festive, but alas, it's not a tea so I can't link you up as having a tea party. I don't drink wine but those little whipped cream tartlets look especially yummy! And I'll try some of that lovely grape jelly; looks so tasty! Thank you for sharing and I hope you have an especially lovely summer's day.

Blessings and hugs,
Sandi

I had to laugh because we prefer dry wines over sweet! Nice post, however!

This is my kind of post BJ! I am normally a white wine drinker but since it is winter here I have been enjoying a few different varieties of red lately. I tried a Californian merlot recently but I have never had wine from Texas. If we ever visit Texas I will definitely try that merlot you recommend!

Best wishes and happy week,
Natasha.

Oh, BJ Wine is so welcome here on Tea Time Tuesday! I just adore seeing your Wine, Coffee, and Tea Settings! The Vignettes you make with each are always so wonderful! I just love the garden salad, peppers! Oh, the tarts, the wines, the half empty glass! The tarts! Yum! The bench, the terra cotta pots! I need a wine bucket too. I should have bought the one in Natchez! lol I just might have to have a Tea with wine which is very much in the etiquette of Afternoon Tea to serve wine and coffee too! I'd have to add lots of milk and chocolate to my coffee! lol I think I just might get hubby to go find me a bottle of wine. I do love sweet wines too. I still looking for a red one I like, as I have been a white wine lover for years! But Doc says no, no. lol But yes, yes to red! I haven't been visiting , I have gotten hurt, then too a bad bad fall, and can't sit here at the computer very long. I tore all of my surgery lose. Lots of pain still. I do love seeing your wonderful settings! Thank you for visiting me so often and for joining me for Tea, coffee, and wine. How about Soda too? Coke floats, sorbets, spritzers,All is Good!
