A NEW TABLE RUNNER ......

I wanted to do a casual tablescape showing off my BRAND NEW RUFFLED BURLAP TABLE RUNNER..
Isn't it a beauty !!!
**
I won this delightful runner from JENNIFER at THE OLD PAINTED COTTAGE....
but LAURIE from BELLA INSPIRATIONS is the talented lady that made the runner.
**
Both these talented ladies have the most ADORABLE blogs and you will just LOVE all the prettiness
at both places.
*
JENNIFER has to be one of the most talented DECORATORS ever...
you will have such a good time exploring her beautiful rooms of her cottage. COTTAGE 8
they call it...go over and see how it got it's name.
**
LAURIE has an amazing ETSY shop where she sells her talented wares.
Since you ALL can't possibly be as LUCKY as MOI..
she does have several styles of the table runners for sale in her shop.
They are so so well made and the burlap is just beautiful.
**
WHEN you go visiting with these two, would you kindly tell them bj said "HEY" ?

I decided to use a few of my vintage CROCKS..
Now, I just absolutely LOVE olden crocks...
well, they don't even HAVE to be olden...
*
"SHEILA, can you LOVE crocks ?.......
Why, you bet your sweet, brand new GRANDDAUGHTER you can !!"
*
A pretty crock will make me grin every single time !!
I think they look EXTRA good on my new BURLAP RUNNER...*BIG grin..being proud !
*
*
I've had this stoneware pitcher so long, I can't even remember where I got it.
I've used it for iced tea, milk and lemonade...
but mostly, it sits on a dining room shelf....
JUST LOOKIN' GOOD !!
*

**
I've also had this bad boy for a number of years.
One of my favorites...
I wish I had another....ONE is NEVER enuf for me...greed, ya know!
**
My sweet AUNT LILLIAN gave me this olden pickling crock in 1960....
*
SHE said it was pretty old...
*
I said it was PRETTY !!
*

Aunt Lillian also gave me the two black pitchers....
*
I sure would rather have my sweet AUNT LILLIAN than all the treasures she gave to me. :(
**

I'm constantly searching for more BUTTERMILK GOBLETS...
They must really have become SCARCE because I seldom find one..
I only have 3 and I need at least 3 more....so...I'll keep searching.
*
Mr. Sweet made us a delicious garden salad with sliced STRAWBERRIES...a favorite..
*
Left over Easter ham, grilled with pineapple...
*
Fresh corn on the cob, also grilled !
...if we, for some reason, don't grill it outside,
we MICROWAVE the corn, in the husk, 2 minutes per ear..
It is really good, crisp and tastes so fresh..
BUT..
the BESTEST way, of course...IS OUTSIDE ON THE GRILL !!
*

...and, ALAS...NO good DESSERT TONIGHT ! ;((
*
...sooo
we just toasted some *left from Easter* potato rolls
and spread them with NUTELLA.
*
This more than satisfied our SWEET TOOTH !!
*
It's just plumb pitiful how much we both love
SWEETS !
GOOD GRIEF !!
(we pretty much have said GOODBYE to not having SUGAR but we
are still watching it closely)

THANK YOU, LADIES, FOR HOSTING.

BJ, you lucky girl! I saw that you won that gorgeous table runner and I knew you'd love it!!

Your food looks delish, as always! After you showed your grilled pineapple last week we made some. Yummy and good for you.

I see on your sidebar that it's two days until your 50th anniversary. That is so awesome. Congratulations.

The burlap runner looked super with your crock pieces...you brought it all together so perfectly looking...casual - but everything in place.

Food looked like it would tickle all the taste buds...then the chocolate touch for your sweet tooth just finished off the meal quite nicely.

Count your blessings,

Amelia

I love the burlap table runner. I have seen a lot of burlap items this spring. Love the crocks too. Had a bunch of them one time and got tired of looking at them. I do that all the time, just up and decide to give things away. Just got too much stuff. I know it is hot, my son told me it was hot and windy in Austin. Just a few days left til your big party.

BJ- I saw the post Jennifer did for that runner giveaway, and I just knew it had my name on it. So you can imagine my surprise when she sent it to the wrong address and I saw it on your darling blog! I am so happy that you are using my runner. Please enjoy it all you want. Entertain on it- show it off- use it on any table. I am so willing to cheerfully share, after all isn't that what friends do? Then when you are all done with it, and only then you can send it my way! And if you cannot part with it, well I'll understand- it is so beautiful. (Congrats, dear friend!)

That is a great runner. I love those old crocks they make me smile.

Auntie sezzzzzz... said...

Cool table runner! And it goes so well with those great old crocks and the like.

"Buttermilk Goblets" How come I never heard of those? ,-) Is it the particular size, which makes them be called that? 'Cause it seems as if buttermilk would be served in a kind of big glass...

Whatever the reason for the name, they are beeeeeeeeeeutiful.

And oh my, it's been so long since I've visited with Jennifer at 'The Old Painted Cottage.' Must go over and of course, say that Dear BJ reminded me to stop by. :-)

Your burlap runner is just too cute. I love your crocks and treasures you shared today. Congrats on winning the runner. I like it with any color but the white kind of fancies it up!

I have been told that after one month on no sugar, you don't crave it anymore. I never lasted that long.

Love you my dear sister friend.
