I can't get anything done......

...for watching THIS !!
*2/24/10
I am linking with SUSAN for OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY
and with KATHLEEN for WHITE WEDNESDAY I DO love watching the OLYMPICS...
**
I am sooo proud of this young man !

APOLLO is one of our very favorites !!
********************************
**************************************************
Tuesday morning, we awoke to more of THIS...
It didn't last too long since the sun came out and has been shining brightly
all day long...
**
Then, I had a phone call from my NUMBER ONE grandson, DREW...
He said, "Come on, Memaw, I'll buy you breakfast !"
*
Hahahhhaaa...he is such a sweetie.
*
To know that he wants to spend time with ME just makes my whole being sing with joy !!
**
We had some wonderful pancakes with all kinds of delicious syrups...
and I do believe IHOP makes the BEST coffee...!!
**
Just sitting beside him, listening to his excitement about his job and...well...just his life,
makes me feel so blessed....and loved.
It's a wonderful feeling !
**
When he had to leave for work....
*
GUESS WHERE I HEADED....!
**
I didn't find much this time, tho...
I am collecting these little glasses with different things painted on them...
they are great for juice.
*
The one with the little red tulip was the only one I found today....
**When I saw this photo on your left with the jar full of tapers, I knew
I had to do that, too...
You KNOW I am such a COPY CAT...
**
Tapers aren't cheap so when I found a handful at GW for 10 cents apiece, I got 'em...
'course....now I need a much cuter jar to put mine in....
*sigh.....
*
It just makes me wonder WHO comes up with all these ideas to add
interest..
texture..
cuteness
to our cottages !!! ??
O, but it's so so fun !!

What a nice and handsome grandson! We're enjoying the Olympics too. I heard there was more snow in Texas and thought of you. Have a great week.

Well friend, Our snow came all day yesterday and into the night and now it is cold as ...... and we have an ice problem and the snow is still here. I couldn't even post pictures for Outdoors Wed or White Wed.

Nice looking young man and how sweet, hehe, to buy you breakfast.

BJ, I can't get anything done either!.. My routine is totally out of whack! I watch the olympics whenever I can, and love ALL the sports! I just wish they would show the hockey games on ONE of the BASIC cable stations I'm PAYING for! Unfortunately I only have basic service which does not have the channel that airs the hockey games! I am NOT happy about this!.. But I DO love Apolo Ohno! I Love Davis and White too! Nice whites today.. Like the idea of displaying candles in a canning jar! ~tina

Ooh BJ, your Drew is so handsome. Your grandchildren obviously adore you if they even call you to have breakfast with them! Love it!

Did you see what I won at Gollum's?

Wonderful White Wednesday post, BJ!

I love the photo of your home, in snow. Beautiful.

The glasses are so cute. I really need to get to Goodwill!:-)

How much fun you have had. It's wonderful your grandson spent time with you. Love the photos and ideas. I used to have some little juice glasses like the ones with the red roosters a while back. Alas, little hands dropped and broke them... Looking for treasures though...is FUN! Thanks for sharing a part of your life with us!

How sweet of your Grandson! I love Apllo too. Became a fan after watching him on Dancing With the Stars...

Love the candles in the jar idea. In the original picture one of the jars just looks like a cute big old pickle jar!

Penny

Ooooo BJ, your grandson is so very handsome! And I think we all copy in some form or another! I love your glasses and that idea with the tapers is awesome. I need to try to find me some spring colors, since all we have outside is WHITE snow!

Loved all your photos. The story about your grandson was especially sweet...most grandkids don't come around much after they grow up. The pancakes look sooooo good!

Happy OW!!!

Just lovely!

I love Apolo too, I've been watching him for years (even on Dancing with the Stars). Mmm...pancakes, almost lunch time and I'm hungry.

Looks like you had a fabulous day! What fantastic ice sculpture. I love the idea of the candle tapers and now I am going to copy it! I know what you mean about "my whole being sing with joy" when your grandson wanted to spend time with you. I feel like that when my sons want to spend time with just me. Hopefully, my grandchildren will want to do that also. I love your little glasses, especially the sailboat and rooster glasses.

Hi bj, love your new header. I am always surprised when I come to visit because your header is always something new. I do love your blog.

I too am loving the Olympics. We stay up late every night watching the results of the day. It involves a good nap with a nice fleece blanky. I love naps.

Your grandson is a handsome sweet guy. Loving his Memaw, how wonderful to have I-Hop pancakes with him. I love I-Hop and we don't have one in our small town. Boo Hoo. Pretty snow bj, we are getting more today.

Pretty white post and the candles are a great look. Just the littlest thing adds so much interest. Now look for that pretty container.
Have a happy day.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne

How fun to have breakfast with your grandson at his invitation! You know you are special when they ask you not the other way around. Loved the GW finds and the taper idea is a neat one - I might have to copy it as well :)

Oh boy BJ that is one big white icecream cone!!! LOL!!

I am glad you are enjoying time with your grandson and the pancakes too!

The idea with the tapers is lovely ... maybe an apothecary jar would add interest to your display.

Warmest hugs,

BJ, I wonder if you know how blessed you are with your sweet family? What a wonderful thing to know that your grandson woke up that morning thinking of spending special time with his grandmother! I pray that some day I have a relationship like that with grandkids. A trip to the thrift would be icing on the cake, what a great day!

I've been watching the Olympics whenever I have the time too ... getting lots less sleep because I stay up later than usual. Apollo IS pretty amazing isn't me.
