A "THIS AND THAT" OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY....

TODAY, in WEST TEXAS, the sun was shining and the temp got up to the mid 50's...
It was really, REALLY a nice day so I decided to get "out and about" .....
*

OUR little lake at the park close to my house was just FULL of
CANADIAN HONKERS....
even saw a few SEA GULLS, probably on their way to see the beautiful Gulf Coast...
*
THEN I drove by little dream cottage that is close by...
I always check to see if there might be a FOR SALE sign in the front yard but....
NO SUCH LUCK.....YET !
I am convinced that, one day, I will drive by and....THERE THAT SIGN WILL BE !! :o)

OUT to see BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER...
she lives in the country...about 11 miles from me...

ON my way back to town, I passed this DREAM BARN that I have
pretty much decided that when I get rich, I'll probably have a barn like this full of race horses
that will make me even richer !!
**
Having a little CHRISTMAS money that is burning a hole in my pocket,
I went to ALL these places to spend a little.
Would you believe I didn't find one single solitary thing I wanted !!!
*
I am actually wanting to save my money for a beautiful MACKENZIE-CHILDS lamp so
maybe that's why I didn't find anything today.....
*
One of my grands, LACEY JEAN, plays on the varsity girls basketball team in high school
and they had a game tonight.
May I just say...IT IS SO FUN TO GO WATCH HER PLAY !!
*
This was SUCH a good game...staying tied most of the time...
HOME....57 That's US...
VISTORS.....53....!!
*
My voice is already a little funny sounding because of all the screaming I was doing.....
***

...but not feeling too funny to eat THIS....
O HONEY....
Out here in our part of TEXAS, we call this a NACHO STACK...
...pass the TUMS please !!

IT WAS A WONDERFUL DAY....

Hi BJ,
What a fun post! Great photos ... and your descriptions make it feel as if we've spent the day with you in your hometown.

Hope you get that lamp you want! When you do, is there any chance we'll see it in an upcoming post?
;)

Bye for now,
Bill

Well, I am feeling very satisfied! Yes, I am! I got to go sightseeing...then for a walk, a shopping trip (I vote you wait for that lamp!) and then GOOD FOOD!
I'm telling you I have to lose weight!! Christmas and a wedding did me in!
As usual, I enjoyed every moment of my visit with you...(barn? horses?) Well, ok, I'm game if you are! :)
HUGS!

Fun day out, I enjoyed the tour and I think I saw those geese when they left my place to head south! Smart Geese! Cindy

Love this post BJ, thanks for the tour of your town. It warmed up here too, but I had to work. Isn't it funny that when you have money to spend you can't find a thing, and when you don't you find everything? Keeps us on our toes! I can see why you check on that cottage, it's lovely. Have a wonderful week. Kathy

Teach us all how to make that nacho stack, BJ, or do you eat it out?

I've gone places and walked out empty-handed too. It seems they stopped having enticing sales and just want to sell picked over junk for top dollar!

Oh how wonderful to have your weather be the kind, which encourages you to 'get out and about'! Enjoy! For you and for me. 'Tis colllllllllllld up here in Yankee Land. -pout-

I love it that you have a sweet cottage, which you watch. I too would love a sweet cottage, but I don't have a special one, to watch. I'm afraid that even if I found one, we wouldn't live in it, unless we could [magically!!!] put it right on the same plot of land, our home has sat on, for all these years. :-)

I hope that someday, your cottage will be for sale, and you can enjoy that front porch!!! :-)

Looking for a little cottage and saving money for MC lamp...so much insight into the sweetness of your spirit :)

MC is so whimsical and carefree...the art cannot help but make you smile.

Glad you had a nice daily jaunt and were not overcome with ice or snow!

what a ducky day! Isn't it always the case - when you have money - you don't find anything...but as soon as your pocket is empty a million things scream at you! Fun post - Thanks!

No Tums for me..........I'll take a huge helping of that delectable dish!! Loved you sharing your day with us. And I can see why you'd love to see a 'for sale' sign. It's very beautiful.

Mine is sunshine on my shoulder...a pelican's shoulder that is. come see, mine too is beautiful. At least I think.

BJ,

Sounds like a wonderful day. I do hope you are able to find that lamp.

Love the Canada geese. We went last Sunday to see the swans and there were hundreds of Canada geese and Mallard ducks there.

Yes, we do have Pepperidge Farm products here, so will keep my eyes open for those delicious cookies.

Wishing you a great day.
Blessings,
Mary

Your dream "cottage" is adorable, but isn't it similar to your house? Just add a picket fence to yours! Your daughter's house is huge and so pretty!

Wtg Lacey Jean! Woot woot!

Gimme that taco stack. Yum.

Justine :o )

It must be time for lunch because your nacho stack looks delicious! Love all the watery outdoor photo with the waterfowl and the 'dream' places you shared too.

Hi BJ, great post. We have those geese on the lake all the time and shoo them away. They are pretty dirty creatures. I hope you get your lamp. Isn't it always fun to have a goal and then reach it? hugs ~lynne~

Your daughter has a great house...and I'm longing for a cottage myself, on the beach somewhere. It looks like a very full and fun day.

That Nacho satck looks divine! Must be time for dinner:>) I can only find things I want when I'm broke. If I have money nothing appeals to me, isn't that just the way it goes?

Loved that post! Great pictures. That big old barn is going to look funny sitting next to your dream cottage. I'm just sayin.
