EVER HEARD OF....THE TIM TAM SLAM ??

THE TIM TAM SLAM
is the practice of melting a TIM TAM, an Australian chocolate covered biscuit, by sucking a hot beverage
(tea, coffee, hot chocolate) through it. Opposite corners of the TIM TAM are bitten off, one end is then submerged in the hot drink and the drink is sucked through the biscuit.
*
The effect is that the crisp, inside biscuit is softened and the outer chocolate coating begins to melt from the inside out.
While TIM TAMS are bought in AUSTRALIA....
(I think, however, that PEPPERIDGE FARMS is now producing them, here in the STATES)
the above cookies bought at a local supermarket
work just almost as well.
Research I did on the TIM TAM says that the biscuit is DOUBLE COATED in chocolate to
help prevent the cookie from collapsing before it reaches your mouth !!

Here's an AUSSIE showing us how it's done!!
*
Some very dear friends in our HOME FELLOWSHIP group were hosts for our gathering
in their home this past Sunday and
showed us all
THE TIM TAM SLAM....
**
Sucking that hot coffee up through that cookie...
and not even using her fingers to hold it...
WOO HOO...way to go !!
**
This sweet lady seems to have gotten the hang of it....
**
Now, this little gal acts like she's done it BEFORE...
*
OR.......MAYBE NOT !!
It all works really good until....
ya get tickled....
then melted chocolate runs all over the place...
**
'course Moi just had to try it...
*
and nearly drowned in melted chocolate.....
O.....BUT WHAT A WAY TO GO !!
**

Yep, we had fun......the AUSTRALIAN WAY !
because there are touches of RED throughout some of the photos...

BJ, that looks like so much fun for a group of ladies to try! I actually giggled seeing all of your friends trying it out. I will have to go purchase some and try it out. My Momma always dunked her cookies but this looks so yummy and chocolate anything, works for me. Thank you for sharing it with us.

that sure looks good and well worth trying. When we were kids we used to push a candy stick into an orange and suck real hard and the acid in the orange would open a passage through the stick and you got candy flavored orange. But that sure doesn't compare to chocolate. What does, really?? B : )

Ohhhh they do this in Canada too! Because I remember a Canadian blogger, showing a video of "how to do it." :-)

This is my first visit here. Being sent over by a sweet blogging friend who writes Blondie's Journal.

My main blog is Aunt Amelia's Attic, but I just made a new blog, called Gals With Grandmother Faces. Because I'm nearly 73 and wanted a place to talk about life, at this stage of life.

So I'm so happy to have met you, via Blondie. And I'll be back.

Gentle hugs...

G'day, ma'am! Plenty of red, the wrapper designed to catch our eye, to attract us to the sweet treat within. I didn't know about this, but I wonder what sweet this might add to a fine cappuccino? A dreamy desert!
