Made a relish tray ...with RANCH dressing.....
is this just a Texas thang or does other states use this much RANCH dressing?
Along with that veggie tray, we had
SOUTHERN CORNBREAD MUFFINS..that's the way Mr. Sweet and I like it..NO SUGAR)
SWEET CORN BREAD MUFFINS (STACY'S family love it with sugar)
LITTLE SMOKIES IN BARBQUE SAUCE (o honey!)
BLACKEYED PEAS for a full year of good luck..(and heated in my new PAULA DEEN stoneware!)

This is a man's vintage hat and you have to agree that she looked like a cool MILLION DOLLARS in it!!

The togetherness of family makes a holiday shine. As for the food, who doesn't like a Ranch dip? Were I there, those truly non-ruby pickles are the first treats I would dip!
The red beans are yummy, I always use kidney beans in my famous chili. Edible reds (and pickles, too) are stylish, cheerful and delicious - they look as delicious as they taste!
family togetherness is the sweetest thing of all!
have a great day!

I love your post today. Family is everything and you sure treat yours extra special. The food looks so delicious, I'm with you, I don't like sugar in my cornbread and being from the south, I love me some sweet tea, sugar.
Hugs
Sissie

Looks like a wonderful new years day. Your daughter looks wonderful in that cool hat!!!

Whoa, awesome thing to win! How big is it? How the hell will she ship it?
Would you believe I've never had black eyed peas? And you call that a relish tray? To me, relish is, well.. relish. Like pickles and onions. That to me would be a veggie crudite. Maybe yours is a TX thing?
Oh, and I've never had little smokies either!
Your daughter (whole family!) is so very beautiful, and you're right, she ROCKS that hat!
Justine :o )

I really envy people who can actually look good wearing a hat. Somehow, i don't look good :( and your daughter really does.
Happy RT!
Happy Belated Birthday bj. I just saw that in your bio. I loved the photos. You're blessed with a wonderful family. We have black-eyed peas on New Year's Day too, I wonder how that tradition started? I have sweet tea everyday. I'm such a tea drinker :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
Hi BJ!
What great holidays you had!! And you are so right about the hat, she looks gorgeous in one!
Glad to hear you had so much happiness goin' on !
Hugs, Sherry
Good looking family and food... yummy for sure! Your daughter is too cute in that hat:) You are one lucky dog to win that bag. Let's pack it and go somewhere, hehe! Enjoy your day dear BJ!
Woohoo! Another Texas blogger!
I am so glad you found the "Texas Gals" blog.
Enjoyed a first visit to yours.
Hope over to my personal blog soon, too!
I do, I do so agree with you...the hat looks perfect on her!!
My Ruby Tuesday is HERE. Do come join me if you can find time today.
This is my kind of feast, full of my favorite things. I posted pics of mine on my blog, but also on my nephew's Brigade page on Facebook, so that our Southern troops in Iraq could have virtual blackeyed peas, greens and cornbread on New Year's. They loved it.
Anyway I have two burning questions? What did we used to put with our relish trays before Ranch Dressing? It's been Ranch for so long, I can't remember. Next, is there a difference between Texas Sweet Tea and Georgia Sweet Tea?
Love, love, love hats and your daughter looks tres chic in hers!
Yessssss, who could not notice that stylish hat!!!!!!!
Lucky daughter to be able to do that with such pinach... [Mmmmm, spelling???] Anyway, it means, 'with style.' :-)
Style, which I'm sure she gets from her Mama!
I had so much fun looking at your photos, you have a lovely family!
Sharing my son's 3rd birthday

Beautiful pictures; lovely daughter; she wears that hat very well; all good memories!
That Stacy is the cutest thing! That hat is adorable on her! That's such a good picture of her and her family. Wish Brooks had been awake so he could have been in it too.
Your New Year's Day meal looks delicious. Of course anything you make is delicious.
Loved this blog!
Martha

u may view mine here
Ah, I envy people that can where hats. I love black-eyed peas and cornbread (any type!).
BJ-What a good looking family! I agree with you on the cornbread--I don't think sugar is truly southern cornbread! Love the hat, but love the braid even more! It looks as if you started out the new year in the best possible way--surrounded by family and good food. Thanks for stopping by! :)
Girl I think we need Ranch by the gallon here. My son uses it to dip pizza and cheese sticks and anything else you can dip.
Everthing looks great.
Great family photos...love the hat but most of all I love those RED spotted plates you have there BJ...just can't help myself, I'm dotty! LOL!
Warmest hugs,
Sandi @ Bearly Sane
I love that crock beverage dispenser!
Another fun family party:>) I love ranch dressing too, and veggies to dip in it. You won that great suitcase?! Now you need to figure out a fun place to go with it!
Hi BJ,
