It's time for VINTAGE THINGY THURSDAY with SUZANNE
I haven't got to play in such a long time and I am
looking forward to seeing some neat VINTAGE...
**
Over the years, it was scratched and beginning to look pretty sad so....
I just gave it a fresh new coat of my favorite COUNTRY WHITE for the winter !
*
*
I have shared this in the past but thought some of my new readers would think this is cute...
And, I LOVE having CUTE around Sweet Nothings cottage !!
**
When I found it several years ago at GOODWILL, it had the natural wood colored lids and wooden knobs.
I changed THAT....mighty fast.
Using my favorite paint, I gave the lids and the wooden holder a coat of RED and added glass knobs..
*
*
I saw one on Ebay once that had the lids and holder painted PINK and it was adorable.
**
**
and have NO candy to go in them. (some may know that we are ON A DIET..)
*
Here's a few "left from Christmas" peppermints that the grands and I LOVE....
I keep suckers, bubble gum, peanuts, crackerjacks....just whatever I have
in these and the kids LOVE it...
...and since they love it... I DO, TOO !!
I don't imagine it is OLDEN....just made to look that way...
but it looks pretty neat with a really great catalog of PIERRE DEUX
in it....
:O)
:O)
MAN..I wish someone would invent a spray that we could spray over our finished jobs and
they would STAY THAT WAY !

Hi BJness! Oh, everything looks so beautiful. The fresh white paint looks fantastic. You've been a busy gal! I love love love those olden canisters. I've never seen a set with a holder like yours. Love it all painted red! You've got a great space for pretties!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You definitely saw the potential in those canisters. I love them with the red, but would have walked right past them if they were plain wood.
I love it BJ! You had such a great vision to see that canister set painted red. I wish I could do that. I have such a hard time thinking "outside the box".
I love what you did with those canisters! Especially the addition of the glass knobs. And that magazine rack looks so great next to it. It's so perfectly chippy!
Happy VTT!
Carol
What a difference a little time and paint will do for things. You did a great job on the canisters. They look very nice where you have them.
You HAVE been busy BJ. Love the crisp, fresh white of the cabinets...so clean looking. Your canister set is so cute (and so you) and I love the magazine rack. All of it looks so sweet on your cabinet! Great job!! :-)

Oh I have seen those canisters several times at the thrift stores around me. Now that I've seen yours I'm going to pick them up and paint them. I LOVE them. They would be perfect in my red, black and white kitchen too.
Could you please let me know what photo editor you used to get the blurry effect around your photos. I've been looking for one and can't find it. I had it on my old computer but forgot which one it was.
Thanks.
Joanne
That white looks so bright and fresh! It all looks so nice together!

I like your idea for using little glass knobs for the canisters! And your cabinet looks fresh and pretty--especially how you have it arranged.

I bet you don't spoil those grandkids - AT ALL! LOL! Like your thrift finds. Candy jars look better when filled! :O) However, I would want/need for them to be EMPTY!
Hi Sweet BJ,
It looks so fresh and sparkly clean you did a super job,i can only imagine how long it must have taken you to finish and all the hard work a picture doesn't show.
Sugar free candy too! how much are you wanting to lose?
Love and Kisses Kristina XxX
I just bought some brand spanking new paint brushes yesterday. Got the painting bug too:) Love your freshly painted cabinets and LOVE the canisters! You have the cutest cuties honey! Have a blessed day!
Ooh, that looks so pretty! The best part (aside from the red) is the glass knobs! Those are awesome and made those TOTALLY your own!
Justine :o )
Gosh, BJ, doesn't this look great! Always great things going on here!
I love what you did with that canister set! I love the red - I have noticed I love red more now that I am "vintage" too. I like that magazine rack, too. Thanks for sharing.

Isn't it amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do? I'm wanting to put a fresh coat on all the walls and woodwork before spring. We've been here almost 7 years and I've bumped my white woodwork with the vaccum way too many times!
Love the canister set...it would be dangerous full of candy.
Sue
Looks great!! Love the red.
I remember those canisters, from long ago, BJ! Pretty makeover! I think there were bread boxes and towel holders to go with them.
I was thinking the other day that I needed that freshly painted feeling. It makes everything clean and 'new'!
I have a canister with granola bars for munchin. It works for me.
Your kitchen looks wonderful! I love the red painted canisters and the magazine holder!
I just love how a coat of paint makes everything fresh and pretty! Your breakfast room looks great, and all ready for spring decorating:>)
what a fabulous job, you did!
It looks great!
Mega applause...of the highest degree!
What a cheery spot.. I love the crisp white on the cabinets. I have canisters kind of like yours but they are hidden away cause they are outdated and ugly.. I might try to jazz them up like yours and find a place for them.
BJ, wow.. this is very refreshing! red colour really stands out! job well done! happy VTT
The canisters look so cute painted!
I likie! You did a fabulous job re-doing the canisters. Everything looks so pretty together! Lovin the cabinets.
What a great idea with the glass knobs on the canister set. I too, had a set and gave them to Goodwill. Now, I may have to go find a set :)
Have a great weekend.
Great canisters and the room is beautiful!
