BJ, How interesting. I've never known anyone who makes custom hats. You should do a post, showing us the process of making a hat. Looks like he does a great job. What cute cakes, and what a precious little girl. laurie

I'm not a Texan, obviously. I was wondering what those things were on the ground in the first photo. I'm so glad you explained them to me :-)

I think it is so cool how your family does somany thngs together. How did your son decide that making hats was what he wanted to do and how did he learn how?

Happy Pink Saturday, BJ.

When I grow up I want to be a cowgirl with a pink hat. Tell your son to be looking for me.

What a fun post, BJ! I do lots of sales/shows, so I know how much fun (and hard work!) setting up and manning a booth can be. HOWEVER, I can't imagine 10 days...and so far away! Does he drive to LV for the event?

I love the pinks you pointed out....I especially love the sweetest pink of all, little Cate!

Your baker's rack in your header is wonderful! Love it!

Hope you have a great Pink Sat. L, Dana

Wow, I think it's so impressive that your son excels in an artisan field like that. I bet there aren't that many hat makers out there these days. Wait... weren't they once called habberdashers? Or was that for something else?
Question: Does he have others working with him, or does he primarily make all of them himself?

So sweet that you wrote about Alicia at the end of the blog. Awwwwww!!!

Love those pink hat cakes, but most especially Cate!

Justine :o )

WOW!! BJ, thats alot of hats and work to make them...I wanted a show one time on how their made about the streaming process of them...Your son would love to see all my Hat gift boxes I have in my collection so very tiny with the hats on them still...some call them samplers but their not...they were used like gift cards now days are used...Maybe I'll do a post and show everyone what they look like...Thanks girl for coming by and see me Ice box...My grandma did have one on the farm in Iowa she had many things that now I'm paying for ha ha!! I think that's why I love antiques it so reminds me of a simpler time in life...Just thinking when I hold a piece whose hands were used before me and how much love they must of had to maintain and kept the pieces..May you have a great weekend my friend...Hope your son does well at his show....Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

My goodness, this is something you don't see every day (especially in the UK!!!) Great post!

I am very saddened that I've had to put word verification back on due to my email address being hijacked on Friday, so I spent most of yesterday doing damage limitation. So I'm now moderating AND have word verification (which I will take off again in a week or so, once the hackers get the message). So I apologise for that.

Hence, an apologetic and belated Happy Pink Saturday on Sunday!
