PINK SATURDAY, SPECIAL CHRISTMAS EDITION....

Sweet BEVERLY at HOW SWEET THE SOUND is hosting, once again, the most PINKEST of days...
HOWEVER....since it is the CHRISTMS season, she has chosen some themed postings for us...
and, TODAY, it is...
YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION/S
and.....
since RED is the mother of PINK...
and it is CHRISTMAS TIME...
REDS ARE ALLOWED....
WOO HOO !
*
**

FIRST, before starting on the traditions around my cottage, I wanted to share this idea...
from BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER, a cute way to display cards...
**
A pretty ribbon or jute twine, such as I have used..
(this IS the year of jute twine and burlap....don'tchaloveit !!
**

I also wanted to share this ADORABLE cookbook that I won from Barb at BELLA VISTA..
It's a GOOSEBERRY COZY COUNTRY CHRISTMAS...
It is FULL of wonderful, down home recipes and I just can't WAIT to try some of them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, BARB...
I LOVE IT !
**
NOW...for the traditions around SWEET NOTHING during our beautiful CHRISTMAS season....
**
" ...the stockings are hung by the chimney with care......"
***
STOCKINGS are a HUGE family CHRISTMAS time tradition....
We have one for every single member of our family....
EIGHTEEN...!!!
am i blessed or WHAT !!

SIX hang on these pretty holders on each side of the wood burning stove...
******
SIX more hang from the mantel....
***
Everyone puts a little "something" in each stocking and we have as much
CHRISTMAS fun "opening" our stockings as we do with the gifts under the tree...
We have had our entire family with us on CHRISTMAS EVE always...
IT'S A FAMILY TRADITION !!!
***
another DELICIOUS tradition is our CANDY CANE cookies that I have shown you before.
I started making these the first CHRISTMAS our DAVID was born and have had them every CHRISTMAS since.
He is 45 now so that's a long time to make the same CHRISTMAS cookies but....
IT'S A FAMILY TRADITION !!!

Love reading about your family's traditions. Like the idea of jingle bells on the bottom of the stockings. I've never seen that before! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve together! Merry Christmas!

Wow, that is certainly some stocking collection - love it! What a fun idea. My post this week is my mother's Lethal Sherry Trifle recipe (it has an awful lot of sherry in it) which we have had every single year since I was 15 (I'm 57 now!).

Have a very Happy Pink Saturday!

I love this, BJ! I am a stocking nut, and this is a fun tradition. And eighteen family members! You are truly blessed! :-)

This year we will be celebrating with friends who are family to us, and I have been a busy bee trying to get stocking stuffers together. It's been fun!

And how much do I love that picture of Cate??? She is a little Christmas angel.

Happy Pink Saturday, BJ!

XO,

Sheila :-)

What a wonderful way to display the Christmas cards. The Christmas cards all hung up looks like the banners lots of these talented bloggers are making:) That Cate is so darn cute, and a bunch of Cates is even better on a card. AND traditions are so important with me. The stockings sound like a wonderful tradition with your family. Have a blessed day Dear B.J.! Stay safe and warm!

Oh, look at sweet Cate! That baby is just too beautiful for words.

I love how you have your cards hanging. Mine I tape to the kitchen cabinets and the pantry door. I actually love the way it looks, and I can look at them over and over again.

Are those candy cane cookies mint, or sugar? I once made twisted candy canes and boy was that a pita!!!!

We always insist on the traditional cookies, too. Now that my mom is older w/ no kids in the house, she just makes 1 kind each for my sister and I by request. I picked chocolate crackles this year.
