HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS....MY CHRISTMAS DINING ROOM....

BEFORE we go into my CHRISTMAS DINING ROOM,
I have a small SWEET smorgasborg for you to enjoy...
***

Have a piece of FANTASY FUDGE, full of pecans....
or maybe you would rather enjoy a chunk of PECAN DIVINETY....
and if you'd rather have a cookie...I have our traditional CHRISTMAS CANDY CANE cookies
that you can even have more than one ....I made a very large batch !!
***
MY CHRISTMAS DINING ROOM.....
......all done up in
RED and WHITE
**
I love my vintage fireplace mantel...I bought it at an antiques shop years ago.
It is pine and MR. SWEET nearly fainted dead away when I casually mentioned...
"I will paint it snow white"....
**
But he seldom says NO to me...('cause I'm prudy mean...!)
(what is it with men and natural wood, anyway ??)
**
Once it was painted, he fell in love with it, too !! :O)
* *

This is a tiny little cup my daughter made in 1979..
that would make her 10 at the time....she is now 40....bwaaaa..
**

It's sitting right there...along with my other Christmas Cups....
I put these out so they will be handy to grab when that EGG NOG comes out of the fridge...
UMMMMM!
I DO love me some egg nog !! .....fresh ground Nutmeg on top...
"I like it..I love it....Can't get enuf of it"...
(now, in case you don't know, that's a country song...)
**

As you can see, I am still using my vintage DISPLAY RACK that thinks it's a ..... BAKERS RACK....
I am ever on the look-out for that perfect HUTCH that I just know is out there..somewhere...
just waiting for me to find and rescue it !!
but....in the meantime...I still am lovin' this little rack...
I've NEVER walked into a cottage and found another one just like it in someone's dining room!! :O)
**

O MY....Red and White is soooo pleasing to my eyes....
**
This Christmas, I have decided to bring out all my WHITES...
Olden Ironstone, some not so olden...
I love the way it looks on my red hutch..
just perfect for my RED and WHITE CHRISTMAS...
**
Wonder why I love the look of old silver pieces in this ironstone sugar bowl ?...but, I DO !!
***

I gathered a few of my little vintage pitchers together and put them on a silver tray
that my daughter gave to me...
***
O !! and see this cute little LONE Target bird ...?

bwaaaaaaa......

I am linking with:

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY's HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
and with HOOTIN ANNI for her HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS
and with SUSAN for TABLESCAPE THURSDAY
*PLEASE don't kick me out of the club, SUSAN...I KNOW I don't have a tablescape as such here...
but...it's in my dining room and there's dishes involved....ok??...:>)
THANKS TO ALL YOU SWEET LADIES FOR HOSTING THESE FUN DAYS FOR US !
MERRY CHRISTMAS.....

bj...is that a red hutch? Sideboard? I need to go back and look again. Wow...that is gorgeous. Beautifully laid out!
I am just having the time of my life. I need a bit more energy..but otherwise this is just more fun than...ok..a barrel of monkeys! tee hee! :)
The white tree with your blue and white china in the dining room...OH MY! You must do it! That would be amazing! Aren't paper clips wonderful? :) The make such great hooks for decorations...much better than the flimsy ones you buy in a package.
I have lost a lot of ornaments from the falling from those light pot metal hooks!
I 'm so happy you like my tree! Now I must go back and look again.

BJness! I'm loving your red and white Christmas! I love seeing your pretty home. And you have the most beautiful things! I love your mantle in white. I know about men and wood! Bad boys! If you remember, it took me over 10 years to get Mr. Precious to come around so I could have our dark paneled den painted! AHHH!
I love your white dishes against your red counter. What color of red did you use. I love this.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

You killed the bird! You killed the bird!!!!!!!!!

But, that aside, your dining room looks GORGEOUS. I adore all the white and red. Love that simple berry wreath too. Too many pretty things to comment on here, that's for sure!

And yeah, men and their natural wood. Idiots. LOL

Did you fix the bird?

I like your 'baker's rack'. I just moved mine out today - something about it bugs me ... it comes in and goes out. It's out again. I have a HUGE hutch. Way bigger than needed but I fell in love w/it - then we remodeled it b/c it was too much glass & mirrors. But I love the hutch big or not.
See ya next time .. Jenn

That mantle is beautiful, especially painted white. I love the dishes on top of it too. The white ironstone with the red checked napkins is just perfect for Christmas, and I'm not even going to talk about how good those sweets look. Don't give out your address though, or you're in trouble. Everyone will be coming there to eat!
Blessings,
Marcia

What a lovely home you have...so rich with pretty detail. We share a lot of the same taste & style. My hubby is the same about natural wood but usually I listen to him and am happy. I just paint the cheap stuff. But your fireplace looks awesome... Love the little mug your daughter made because I remember my kids making those, but I was dumb and washed them and they were ruined, Bwaaaa!!! ;-)

Love that buffet. It made me hungry!!

Good morning BJ, I have set aside today for visiting and I am starting with you. Your post is so pretty, sweet, lovely and more. I scrolled down to the posts I have missed. Christmas in your home is so cosy and welcoming. I too love your red and white. I was hoping to visit last night but I am so tired after a 5:00 am start with Cheri' I have been going to sleep early. You will laugh at this...I was talking to Beverly on the phone and I dozed off. Next thing I remember was Beverly saying JEANNE wake up. That was a first! HA. It's cause I am 70 now!!! LOL.

Painting your mantel was genius. I am not sure I would have the nerve. Of course, I remember seeing it before. I'm not that old yet!!!

If you could see me trying to type with CC biting my PJ's and anything she can get her mouth on. LOL. She is driving me crazy and I love every minute. I keep giving her a chewy but I am her favorite chewy.

Keep ypur Christmas photos coming. I LOVE your collections of white stone ware, your cream pitchers and your red and white decor. The perfect cottage look.

Love you too, Jeanne
