Our first SNOW of the season...
it didn't last 30 minutes and the snow melted almost as soon as it hit the ground...

I SPENT MOST OF THE DAY

my legs propped up on the ottoman..reading cook books...
drinking so much hot tea I was afraid I'd wet the bed !!
AND...when I was little, everyone always told me that if you stared at a fire, you WOULD wet the bed...

Oh, dear...I had a double whammy going on here..

OOO, I do love these kind of days now that I don't have to get out in them !!!

Wow, you really got a deal there on your log holder! It's beautiful. All your snow photos are too. We got a little last night, and the kids were able to build a very little snowman today before it all melted. Btw, I know we'd get along great, I'm a tea drinker too!
Blessings,
Marcia
First let me say the Santa in your header is perfect!! Heard about your Texas snow on the news, Congrats!! Your home looks so cozy and warm, what a deal on the log holder!!!
BJ, I love staying home on those kind of days also and piddling and reading all day. What a great, great find. We only had a few flurries here, but we saw lots of snow on the way to Galveston.
Happy Wednesday!
Barbara
WOW BJ, I am glad I didn't read this last night or I would have wet the bed for sure:) Love your snow on the pumpkin picture, Snow is beautiful, huh? Have a blessed day in your comfy home down there!
I'm a fan of any great bargain! Finding that log holder was kismet.
Your living room is magazine layout warm and welcoming! Just beautiful! You have a great decorator's eye!
Your words....now I've a song running through my brain..."Out in the West Texas town of El Paso". Why'd you go and do that?!!! It's gonna be going through my mind all day. LOL [kidding!]
Snow...I left that back in Colorado didn't I? No...we in Corpus got a dusting too last week. BUT!!!!!!----I love the photo of you/slippers, a hot cup o' and the fireplace a'goin'!!!
My Wednesday post is published. Do come by if you get a chance...it's all Gulf Waters today. Found HERE
Girl, you sure know how to do you some restin! Everything looks all festive and snuggly warm. I cannot believe the difference the price on your log holder. What a deal!
The part about wetting the bed, that's a classic, love it!
hugs~Sissie
I didn't know you get snow there in your part of TX! No fair! I want some, BJ! Pweeeaaase???
I cannot believe the bargain you got on your wood holder. I don't even know where there IS a thrift store around here!
Love your little slippered feet!
Justine :o )
I heard that Texas got snow and I thought of you and knew it would make you happy:>) We got some last night, but not enough for a snow day at school, which I was hopeing for so I could work on my projects without interruption:>(
Uhm - you call that snow☺ All schools in the UP of Michigan CLOSED. Mackinac Bridge CLOSED! I'll be out in those high winds and frigid temps to take photos to blog about! I've gotta be wacko!☺
Fireplace looks cozy. Did the same thing in my family room last evening. Cat on my lap and dogs on the sofa - me in my overstuffed recliner...tree twinkling in the background - God has richly blessed me. I don't have a loaded bank account but boy, do I ever have some remarkable blessings!
Very cozy!
I think I have those pajamas. :)
I want snow!!! You look so cute in your jammies! What a wonderful find in that log holder...you have the best places to shop BJ!
xo

'Morning BJ,
Your snowy pictures wonderful but I like the ones indoors best! So cozy! As beautiful as the white stuff is, we get plenty of it here in Prince Edward Island and there is more on the way tonight. Good deal on the log holder. Thanks for sharing and Happy Wednesday.
Christmas blessings,
Sandi
Now aren't you just all comfy and cozy with the fire, the tea and your slippers? AND, what a great deal you found, I just love a good bargain.
BTW, thanks for the yellow ribbon for our troops. My nephew leaves for Iraq on December 22nd. Everyone says it's terrible he's leaving just days before Christmas (plus his first child was just born this past Saturday), but I tell them that he'll be here next Christmas for sure!
We also had our first snow on Monday, but it was all melted too before I could leave work and get my camera out. Oh Well! Next year!
Snow in Texas--okay by me as long as you warm and cozy, and you sure look like that. I love the picture with all of your magazines at your fingertips. (sigh)
Your photos are just lovely. I want to prop my feet up by your fire...with a cup of tea...chat a while and flip through some of your magazines. What time should I be there?
so glad you were able to enjoy your 'snow day' and a little white Christmas magic!
Love the snow, BJness, even if it didn't last! You took a picture and you've got the memory now! Love those log slings! What a deal you got on it!
Now look at you all cozy and all! Love the fire! I've got one going too! It's electric, but I don't care! It's carefree! :)
Be a sweetie and I know you're gonna cook something else just fabulous and make me hungry!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Lovin' your log holder and your slippers!!! What fun to sit and catch up on reading in front of a crackling fire.
Rhonda
Oh, you do look cozy and warm. Hope your Holidays are merry and bright!
((hugs)) rosie
I want some snow! Just a little bit though. Sitting in front of a fire sounds pretty good right now. It is about 30 degrees here in Sacramento. That is pretty cold for us even though I live about 90 miles from South Lake Tahoe.
You got one heck of a deal on the log holder. I admire people who go thrifting and bring home these fabulous finds. I don't have the eye for it. I have a cousin that can go to the dollar store and walk out with things that look like a million bucks.
Take care, Sue
Those of us that expect snow aren't crazy about it...those of you who have it seldom find it a treat! It is pretty as long as I can just curl up inside. Today...a few flurries but horrible winds. There are Christmas decorations blowing down the streets and yards. You find great stuff at thrift stores. Ours aren't that good!
Sue
Hi, BJ! I can't believe you got snow! WOW! Looks like a winter wonderland, and I would have been in front of that fire with you!
Love that log holder. I need one of those!!!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday from 80 degree Florida to you winter corner of Texas! Sending you warm hugs, BJ...
XO,
Sheila :-)
having a sip of tea on the snowy cold day is perfect!
Have a glimpse of Japan at my place.
I loved all your pictures, but I must say I'm impressed with the bargain you were able to find. Way to go girl:-). Stay warm and dry and have a great Outdoor Wednesday - inside.
What a heck of a deal! That must have made you feel good. I'm in Missouri and we haven't even had any snow yet. Rosie
Hi BJ....you have WON one of my giveaway cookbooks!! Congratulations!!!!!!!

Hugs, Barb ♥
Hi BJ! Isn't snow fun when you don't have to go out in it? Love the slippers! We have snow on the ground now, and I'm in pink slippers, the perfect winter footwear.
Thanks for visiting...and sorry I made you cry! I always show guests the "scar" on the Noah's Ark ornament, where I glued it back together, because it seems just too amazing that the only ornament to survive that year was ...Noah's Ark. Talk about a sign to me from the Lord that year!
Have a blessed holiday,
Cass
My kind of day. Sitting by a big, warm fire in warm cloths, drinking apple cider.
Loved your photos, especially of the fireplace and you all snuggled nice, warm and cozy.
Doesn't it just make your whole season to come upon a find like that! I can see that it did, BJ! You looks so comfy there.
Brenda
I was hoping you got some of that snow! None here...today the high was 23! Dang! Too cold to run errands but I have to. :)
My husband went from VA to NE today. When it warms up in Nebraska it will be a whole 0 degrees. BRRR. And we think it's cold here at 45.
