CHRISTMAS TIME FROST ON THE PUMPKIN...

let's me share the
VERY FIRST SNOW of the SEASON...out here in WEST TEXAS...
**
WOO...HOO...
Our first SNOW of the season...
it didn't last 30 minutes and the snow melted almost as soon as it hit the ground...
but it was snow !!
All this on the 1st day of December...
*
YEP...there WAS frost on the pumpkin...
*
......and on the HOLLY....
**Needless to say...
I SPENT MOST OF THE DAY
in front of
THIS !!
**
my legs propped up on the ottoman..
reading cook books...
drinking so much hot tea I was afraid I'd wet the bed !!
AND...when I was little, everyone always told me that if you stared at a fire, you WOULD wet the bed...
Oh, dear...I had a double whammy going on here..
**
and, NO, JUSTINE...I REALLY DIDN'T WET THE BED ! :o)
OOO, I do love these kind of days now that I don't have to get out in them !!!
**
NOW....this find at our local FABULOUS Goodwill store
was like getting a Christmas gift for myself !!
*
The leather sling log holder on the left is from CABELA'S...$149.99 PLUS shipping...
**
Mine, on the right, found at my local thrifty place, NEW IN BOX FROM CABELA'S...
$8.00
E.I.G.H.T.
**
....the biggest difference (other than PRICE) is that mine is larger...
wooooo, i am lovin' it !!
....ain't live grand !!
I am also linking up with ANNI for her HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS

Wow, you really got a deal there on your log holder! It's beautiful. All your snow photos are too. We got a little last night, and the kids were able to build a very little snowman today before it all melted. Btw, I know we'd get along great, I'm a tea drinker too!
Blessings,
Marcia

BJ, I love staying home on those kind of days also and piddling and reading all day. What a great, great find. We only had a few flurries here, but we saw lots of snow on the way to Galveston.

Happy Wednesday!

Uhm - you call that snow☺ All schools in the UP of Michigan CLOSED. Mackinac Bridge CLOSED! I'll be out in those high winds and frigid temps to take photos to blog about! I've gotta be wacko!☺

Fireplace looks cozy. Did the same thing in my family room last evening. Cat on my lap and dogs on the sofa - me in my overstuffed recliner...tree twinkling in the background - God has richly blessed me. I don't have a loaded bank account but boy, do I ever have some remarkable blessings!

'Morning BJ,
Your snowy pictures wonderful but I like the ones indoors best! So cozy! As beautiful as the white stuff is, we get plenty of it here in Prince Edward Island and there is more on the way tonight. Good deal on the log holder. Thanks for sharing and Happy Wednesday.

Christmas blessings,
Sandi

Now aren't you just all comfy and cozy with the fire, the tea and your slippers? AND, what a great deal you found, I just love a good bargain.

BTW, thanks for the yellow ribbon for our troops. My nephew leaves for Iraq on December 22nd. Everyone says it's terrible he's leaving just days before Christmas (plus his first child was just born this past Saturday), but I tell them that he'll be here next Christmas for sure!

We also had our first snow on Monday, but it was all melted too before I could leave work and get my camera out. Oh Well! Next year!

Snow in Texas--okay by me as long as you warm and cozy, and you sure look like that. I love the picture with all of your magazines at your fingertips. (sigh)

Your photos are just lovely. I want to prop my feet up by your fire...with a cup of tea...chat a while and flip through some of your magazines. What time should I be there?

Love the snow, BJness, even if it didn't last! You took a picture and you've got the memory now! Love those log slings! What a deal you got on it!
Now look at you all cozy and all! Love the fire! I've got one going too! It's electric, but I don't care! It's carefree! :)
Be a sweetie and I know you're gonna cook something else just fabulous and make me hungry!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I want some snow! Just a little bit though. Sitting in front of a fire sounds pretty good right now. It is about 30 degrees here in Sacramento. That is pretty cold for us even though I live about 90 miles from South Lake Tahoe.

You got one heck of a deal on the log holder. I admire people who go thrifting and bring home these fabulous finds. I don't have the eye for it. I have a cousin that can go to the dollar store and walk out with things that look like a million bucks.
Take care, Sue

Those of us that expect snow aren't crazy about it...those of you who have it seldom find it a treat! It is pretty as long as I can just curl up inside. Today...a few flurries but horrible winds. There are Christmas decorations blowing down the streets and yards. You find great stuff at thrift stores. Ours aren't that good!

Hi BJ! Isn't snow fun when you don't have to go out in it? Love the slippers! We have snow on the ground now, and I'm in pink slippers, the perfect winter footwear.

Thanks for visiting...and sorry I made you cry! I always show guests the "scar" on the Noah's Ark ornament, where I glued it back together, because it seems just too amazing that the only ornament to survive that year was ...Noah's Ark. Talk about a sign to me from the Lord that year!

Have a blessed holiday,
Cass

My husband went from VA to NE today. When it warms up in Nebraska it will be a whole 0 degrees. BRRR. And we think it's cold here at 45.
